So back to today’s happenings, when I woke up this morning, I smelled pancakes in the kitchen so I went there and saw Cherry preparing breakfast. She was turned against me so she didn’t notice that I was there and I had the chance to indulge in the moment of familiarity. The way she looked as she flipped the pan and broke the eggs made me feel nostalgic leaving me with the urge to hug her from behind. Before I did anything stupid, Cherry turned around and flashed a sweet smile when she noticed me leaning on the kitchen door. She asked if I was feeling better already and I said that was. I joined her for breakfast and I was overjoyed with the experience of having someone to share a meal with when you wake up in the morning. After breakfast, I helped her with the dishes and in fixing the guest room where I slept in. Before I went back to the apartment, I invited her to join me for lunch and she agreed. I said that it was a “thank you” for taking care of me when I was sick.
When I got back to the apartment, I called Yoohuan to apologize for being absent at the clinic yesterday without notice. I’m gonna have to make it up for him one of these days. I think I’ve already disturbed him too much these past few days. Junsu came by around 10 AM. He asked me if I could be one of his groom’s men for the wedding—of course, I gladly obliged. I can see that he’s very happy and excited about the wedding. I wonder how the preparations are going. Taking from experience I do know that wedding preparations can be quite stressful.
Hmmm. Well, I went to Cherry’s place at 12 and we went to this Italian restaurant for lunch. We went to the park after lunch and had a casual conversation as we passed street performers and gardens that were dispersed around the park. Cherry shared basic stuffs about her family and work. She has three other siblings and she’s the third child in the family. She’s working as a personal assistant but she finished interior designing in college. Cherry was even very excited while she was telling me about her recent project on redecorating her boss’s room. I think she got too comfortable with our conversation that she also shared about her frustrations of not having a boyfriend for quite some time already. Although I did find it weird that she doesn’t have a boyfriend, but then at the same time I was in a way happy knowing that she doesn’t have one. He-he.
We went home around five since the clouds were getting darker and it looked like it was going to rain. Sure enough, by the time we got inside the apartment building, the rain poured. We were so lucky. Before the elevator door closed, I noticed that Cherry smiled as she picked up a rose from the floor just outside her front door. I smiled. When she brought the rose to her nose and smelled it, I couldn’t help myself from making smile wider. By the time I got out of the elevator I looked like a grinning lunatic that Mr. Lee looked at me as if I was an alien. Mom was right, flowers always put a smile in a woman’s face.
