“What did you say your name was?” You asked him. When you heard his name you suddenly felt like you knew who he was. It was kind of creepy. How could you know a stranger that you had just met?
“Nichkhun.” He repeated.
You tried hard to remember but you still couldn’t recognize who he was. Then why did this moment feel like déjà vu? Then you heard him chuckling, and that also sounded familiar.
FLASHBACK:
“Omma!!! Omma!!!!” A young girl cried. She had lost her way back home and no matter how much she walked, she still couldn’t find her way. She was so scared that she couldn’t walk anymore. She looked around and there was no one there. She was all alone. “Omma!!” She cried again.
Only this time, a boy of her age suddenly came out from the forest which was surrounding the road. The girl was somehow relieved that the boy was there. He smiled at her and gave her a chocolate chip cookie which she ate as soon as she got a hold of it. The boy’s chuckling made her happy and she felt better now.
“I’m Nichkhun.” He said. “What’s your name?” He cutely asked.
The girl had a huge smile on her face, but she was still not talking. So the boy gave her a nickname.
“I’ll call you chocolate then.” He said while wiping the crunches of choc chip cookie off the girl’s mouth with his index finger.
(A/N: Remember, the girl and the boy are like 5 years old.)
END OF FLASHBASK
“Ah!” You raised your head and looked into his eyes, surprised. “Nichkhun!” You shouted.
He smiled and tried to understand why you called his name.
“Do…you remember me?” You asked, pointing to yourself.
He looked as though he was thinking about it, about the possibility that he might know you. But he didn’t seem to recall anything.
“No.” He answered with a smile on his face. He didn’t give you one single negative feeling.
You pouted and in disappointment just drifted off.
“We own a coffee shop near this place; would you like to come with me?” He asked, offering his hand.
For a moment, you thought if it would be a good idea. But you still decided to hold his hand and follow him to wherever he was going.
Finally, arriving to the cute looking coffee shop, you spotted a cosy looking sofa and decided to take a nap there. Nichkhun came back from kitchen holding a tray which had two cups of coffee, and chocolate chip cookies on it. He sat down on the chair and placed the tray on the table.
“Want some?” He turned to you and asked you.
You nodded and reached for the cup of coffee. He watched you eat the cookies in delight and kept chuckling.
When you realized he had been watching you all this time, you laughed. “What?” You whiningly asked.
“Nothing.” He replied.
He looked like a warm and gentle guy, and you were sure he was the boy you met that day. He was the boy who consoled you when you couldn’t find your way back home.
“These choc chip cookies are delicious.” You said while finishing all the cookies.
“You sure do eat a lot.”
He couldn’t even eat one cookie as you finished all of them. He was still smiling though; it made him happy for some reason.
“I do?” You pouted.
“What’s your name?” He asked you, curiously.
You looked into his eyes, “Chocolate.” You said.
“Chocolate? I’ve never heard a name like that.” He looked surprised. But he liked your name. He thought it was cute and funny.
“So he doesn’t remember.” You thought.
