Chapter 14

A Bouquet of Flowers

I looked up at him with my red puffy eyes. He took his hand and placed it against the side of my face, using his thumb he gently wiped the tears away from my cheek, but as he was I let out a small laugh. He looked at me oddly as I was staring at the wet spot on his shirt where my face was.
"Sorry about your shirt," I apologized looking up at him.
Looking down at his own shirt he just smiled, "Don't worry about it."
We walked back down the stairs and sat back on the couch.
There was nothing but silence until Raymond spoke up, "So what happened to the others?"
I wasn't sure myself. Just as I was about to speak up the front door was unlocked.

Laughter and chatter could be heard as the door swung opened. There stood Tavia, Ron and Bosco with bags of take-out in there hands.

Tavia ran over to me with a huge smile on her face, "Charmaine you guys are awake! Well we went out to get some food, but we didn't call you guys to come with us because we didn't want to wake you up." She looked at me and noticed that my eyes were slightly puffy, "Are you okay Charm?"
I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine."
"Well let’s go eat then."

After we had finished eating Tavia decided to stick around and play some video games, but I had to head home. Raymond gave me a lift.
The ride home was silent until we had arrived in front of my door steps. "Wait here for a minute," Raymond spoke up as he got out of his seat.
Looking into the side mirror I saw him open up his trunk and was getting something out. He hid what ever it was behind his back and came to open the car door for me to get out.
I had just turned my head down to unhook my seatbelt, and when I turned my head back around a bouquet of yellow roses, thirteen to be exact, was in front of me.
"These are for you," Raymond said. "Happy Birthday. I know that the guys and I have a little something for you in the near future, but it's your birthday today, and I just thought I should get you a little something."
I looked up at him, "Thank-you Raymond, the flowers are beautiful." I accepted to flowers and got out of the car. Waving bye to Raymond, I opened the door and went inside the house.

So much had gone on today. I was really tired. I just wanted to lie down on my bed and forget all those unwanted things. I placed the bouquet of flowers in a vase in my room. After taking a shower I looked at them, and a smile crept up upon my face as I started to think about the person that gave them to me. He had helped me a lot, and thought I haven't really known him for that long, our friendship was so strong. Looking at the flowers, thirteen yellow roses, I remembered it symbolized something, but I just couldn't figure out what it was. The more I thought about it, the more curious I was. I decided to look it up on the internet, and there it was, but I just couldn't believe it. Maybe I'm just thinking too much about it. There is no way a big celebrity like Raymond would like a plain, normal, simple girl like me.
I was thinking too much, I decided to turn off the lights and try to fall asleep, but the more I thought about it the more delighted I felt inside.
