Chapter 16
"Forever."
The day was getting late, as I leaned against the gate. I was tired, cold and had a piercing headache. I decided to go home, but as I tried to get up on to my feet, I was too weak and collapsed back onto the floor. I felt a burning sensation inside yet I was trembling. There I sat as my vision began to get blurry. I heard footsteps coming close to me.
"Charmaine, what are you getting here?" I recognized the person's voice, it belong to Raymond. "Let's get you inside," he said as he tried to help me up. "Come on."
He supported me from my arms, but I shook my head, I was too weak to stand properly, "I can't Raymond," I began to slip out of his grip and fall.
"Then I'll help you," with that he lifted me up and brought me into his house.
He brought me upstairs to what seemed to be the guest's room.
"Here change into these," he said as he handed me a t-shirt and a pair of sweat pants. "It's all I have, but it's better than the wet clothes you are wearing now."
He helped to the bathroom as I changed into his clothes and dried my hair.
When I was done he helped me over to the bed as I let out a sneeze.
"You have a fever," he said as he felt my forehead.
He went downstairs and came back up with a cup of water and some medicine. "Did you eat anything yet?" he asked me.
I shook my head.
"Well you can't take your medicine on an empty stomach. Let me cook something for you, just take a nap for now, I'll wake up when I'm done."
"Thanks Ray," I whispered.
He smiled back at me, "What are friends for?"
I closed my eyes as I fell into a deep sleep.
I woke up to a strange environment. I was in a room that was black. Walking around I seemed to be getting nowhere. "Hello? Is anyone there?" I kept calling out, but no one answered. Suddenly the lights flickered on, "Charmaine, I've been waiting for you?" a familiar voice said in a creepy way.
"Who are you? What do you want from me?"
"You know who I am," the voice said, "And what do I want from you? All I want is you!"
A puff of smoke emerged out of no where and there standing before me, out of the smoke was Kevin.
I ran as fast as I could, but the faster I ran, the faster he ran. He caught up to me and grabbed onto me.
"Let me go! Let me go!" I screamed.
"No one is here to save you Charmaine, no one!"
"AHH!" I screamed.
I woke up as I sprang up from the bed into a sitting position with cold sweat dripping from my forehead.
Raymond ran into the room, "What wrong Charm?"
I shook my head, as I had one hand on my chest to calm myself down from my racing heart beats and heavy breathing.
I could tell that he knew something was going on. He came in and sat down on the bed beside placing his arm around my shoulders, "It's okay Charm, it was just a bad dream."
I looked down at my lap as I thought about what had happened earlier today, "I saw him today," I finally managed to speak up.
"Him? You mean Kevin?"
I nodded, "He gave me a gift and tried to make a move on me." Tears conjured up in my eyes. "I managed to get away, and I appeared to be so strong when I walked away from him but I was really scared Raymond."
"It's okay Charm, cry it all out, you'll feel better," he said as he patted me on the back.
I looked up and wiped my tears away.
"I'm here for you Charm," Raymond whispered to me. "We're friends right?"
"Forever," I said back to him.

busyblu: Hi busyblu, I know what you mean about the whole 13 roses thing. That's what I thought at first when I wrote the chapter, that 13 symbolized a crush. But then I decided to make sure and look it up on the internet, and it turned out that it wasn't. So I just go along with my mistake, making my mistake Charmaine's mistake, and bringing a twist to the storyline.
