Chapter 17

"Surprise?"

My days in bed passed by quickly, and before I knew it I was better. The guys' concert was tomorrow, and I was overly excited, after all it was my first live concert. Tavia was going to come over to my place to get ready and we would head over to the concert together. I just couldn't sleep for the whole night tossing and turning.
The sky began to lighten up as the sun rose from the east. I got up out of my bed and walked over to the window. The scene was beautiful, the perfect way to start a morning. Watching the sun continue to rise I yawned. I looked over at my bed which looked overly comfortable at the moment. I jumped into my bed and pulled to comforter over myself, a fell fast asleep without having to think twice.

Once again I woke up, but this time it was because of an annoying banging sound coming from what seemed to be the kitchen. Rubbing my eyes I looked over to the clock. "Oh my, it's one o'clock," I mumbled to myself. "That's strange, mom and dad should be at work by now," I rolled out of bed and headed downstairs with my bed head and pyjamas.
As I walked down the stairs I heard two voices one of a boy, and the other a girl. Then there were two other people laughing. Could it be robbers? Maybe I should call the police. Inching downstairs with caution I looked over to the living room, there were to people sitting on the couch. Then I looked over at the kitchen, and there stood Tavia at the sink washing the dishes, but that wasn't all, there was someone else at the fridge. When the person turned around he spotted me, it was Raymond.

"Charmaine, you're awake," Raymond called out.
How embarrassing, still in my pjs, I quickly ran upstairs before I responded to Raymond to clean myself up.

Walking back downstairs Raymond had a huge smirk on his face; I turned away and walked over the see what Tavia was doing to save myself the embarrassment. "Umm, so what are you guys doing here at this time?" I asked the guys.

"Tavia invited us over," Bosco answered.

"Tavia?" I said with my teeth clenched as I looked over at her.
She looked back at me, with an innocent look on her face.
"Last I remembered this was my house. How'd you get in here anyways?" I said to her.
"Well, my aunt your mom let me in this morning. And since you were still sleeping I didn't want to wake you up. Then I got bored and called the guys over before they had to go for their practice."
"Oh so you invited people over with out my permission because you were bored?"
"Come on Charm, we're family. You know, my things are your things, and your things are my things," she said as she placed her arm over my shoulder.
I looked at her with an angered face, to simply teach her a lesson. I wasn't really mad at her, I mean I didn't mind her inviting friends over, but a little warning would have been good.
"Charmaine, don't be mad," Tavia nagged as she held my arm and swung it back and forth like a little girl. You're the best cousin in the whole wide world. You won't stay mad at me."
"Who said that I can't stay mad at you, I can stay mad at you for as long as I want."
"Are you sure?" she asked me as a smile unravelled on her face.
I nodded.
"Are you really sure?"
I nodded again.
"Okay, I hope you don't regret," she said as her hands sprung out at me tickling me.
And she got me, I am super ticklish. Pushing her hands away I plead for her to stop.
"Does that mean you forgive me?" she asked in between her laughter.
"Yes, yes!"
When she stopped we looked up and saw the guys looking at us.
"What in the world were you two doing?" Ron asked.
"Nothing," Tavia and I answered at the same time as we burst out into laughter once again.
"Okay then," Raymond added. "So where is the food you said you'd make for us Tavia?"
"Tavia, since when did you start cooking?" I asked her.
"Just today," she said with a big smile on her face.
"I don't know you guys," Bosco spoke up. "Maybe we should just order take out then, the food might be poisonous," as he pretended to die of food poison.
We all laughed including Tavia.
"I agree," Tavia responded, "Take-out it is. That just means less work for me to do."
"Lazy," I said to Tavia as she stuck her tongue out at me.

I walked over to the living room and sat on the couch as Tavia called for take-out with Ron and Bosco by her side yelling out what they wanted. Raymond walked over to me and smiled, "Nice bed head," he whispered to me as he began to chuckle.
"Hey, bed heads aren't meant to be pretty. And besides I didn't know that I had company today BEFORE I was awake," I defended.
We both laughed for a bit at the comments we made.
"So I see you are feeling better," Raymond said with a more serious tone.
I nodded, "Thanks."
"For what?" he asked with a confused look on his face.
"The other day."
He smiled at me, "Like I said, that's what friends are for."

Soon after the delivery man came with the take-out. After we ate the guys had to leave to get ready for the concert.
"Don't be late you guys," Raymond said as he left the door.
"Yeah, you don't want to miss out on anything," Ron added.
"Be ready for a big surprise, Charmaine," Bosco said with a huge smile on his face.
"Bosco! Shh," Ron and Raymond both hushed at Bosco simultaneously.
"Bye!" I shouted as they left.
"Surprise?" I said to myself. "Wonder what it could be."
