Chapter 20

Night-Life After the Concert

The party that the guys and I were attending was a private party by the lake. It was so peaceful, nice, and most importantly and surprisingly, reporter free. We walked into the tent that was set up on an opened grass field. Bosco and Ron immediately went inside searching for the table of food as I just stood near the entrance admiring the view outside.

"The stars are out tonight," a familiar voice said from behind me.
I nodded in agreement as I turned my head around. "I think I prefer the setting out there than in here," I said as I made my way to the dock.
Raymond remained silent and just followed behind me.
"Don't you want to spend time with Ron, Bosco, and your co-workers in there," I said facing him as my index finger pointed at the tent.
Raymond just looked out into the waters, "Everything seems so perfect here. The moon is out, as the stars shine in the clear sky." He turned his head and looked my way. His eyes twinkled in the moon light.
As we stood their staring at each other I noticed myself leaning closer to him, as his was leaning closer to mine. It was as thought my body had a mine of its own. Snap out of Charmaine what are you thinking. STOP!
I backed away as my back straightened. The bond our eyes created was now broken as an awkward silence spread between us.
"It's getting late, I better start heading home," I said trying to make things seem normal once again.
"I'll give you a lift," Raymond said.
"It's okay; I'll just catch the taxi. You go have fun and drive the soon to be drunk Ron and Bosco safely home," I justified. I really didn't want to be stuck in a car with him alone at the moment; things were awkward enough as they were.
Without further adieu, he walked me out to the streets and caught a taxi for me.
"Okay then, be careful. Give me a call when you get home," Raymond said after he closed the door.
"You drive safely home too," I said as a waved good-bye.

I didn't really want to go home quite yet. I told the taxi driver to stop me off in one of the busier parts of town. People crowded the streets as they lined up to get into bars and clubs. People were walking up down the streets admiring the lights of the city life, as were drunks as a spotted a familiar looking face.
The drunk was with some of his friends until he spotted me. I quickly turned the other way hoping that he wouldn't follow. I was out of luck.
"Charmaine!" he called out my name and racing towards me. His hands held on to both sides of my shoulder.
"Kevin you're drunk," I told him.
"Charmaine be with me, be my girlfriend. I really like you," he blabbered in his drunken state.
"Stop it Kevin, you have Gigi," I said as I slightly raised my tone while I was trying to get out of his grip.
"Gigi? What Gigi? We broke up. She got a hold of my cell phone and read all those messages we sent to one another," he chuckled.
"What?! Why would you do such a stupid thing and save all those messages," I said with much anger.
"Me? Stupid? Ha-" before he finished he collapsed. I tried to help him get onto his feet but I was too weak. His friends quickly ran over and carried him away. As much as I might despise him, I just couldn't let him fall onto the ground and walk away.
As I wandered on the streets, I had no specific place to go. All I could think about was what Kevin had told me, hoping that it wasn't true. I decided to make my way home.

The house was dark, and the car wasn't in the driveway, thus my parents were still at Tavia's and I don't have to deal with them tonight. After opening the door I walked in and collapsed on the couch. I heard something beeping, and it was coming from my room.
I remembered I forgot my cell phone and quickly went to see what calls I had missed. "15 missed calls" flashed on the screen of my cell phone. The first few were from Tavia, and the guys, probably when they were looking for me before the concert. The last few were all from Gigi. While I was still staring at the cell phone, it rang startling me a bit. It was Gigi.
"Hello, Gigi?" I said as I answered her call.
She didn't say anything, but she was crying over the phone.
"Gigi, are you okay?" I said with both concern and fear.
I waited a bit before speaking, and she finally spoke up, "Am I okay? Are you kidding me Charmaine Sheh? Why don't you ask yourself what you have been doing behind my back instead?!"

Well here's another chapter from "moi", 1_dream. I noticed that I received very little comments for the last chapter ><, only one to be exact (Thanks Phuong!). I really hope I'm not boring you guys. Like I said before school's started and at first I was placing this story on hiatus, but I really just can't put it down. I actually want to finish it. So what I'm going to do is try to update when ever I have the time to, but how long is it going to take me to update each time? I really don't know at the moment. Hopefully I get more of the story written when the school work hasn't gotten to hectic yet. I shall try my best. Enjoy! =)... and I would really love to hear from you guys. Chao!
