Chapter 23
The Letter
I woke up the next day only to stare into the grey and rainy skies. It looked so depressing. There I lay in my bed; I didn't feel like waking up. My eyes grew heavier as I fell back asleep.
"Buzz! Buzz!" I heard as I was still in bed. Was this a dream? What was this noise that I was hearing? As I began to open my eyes I took the back of my hands and rubbed them. I looked over at my desk and saw that the screen of my phone was glowing. Getting up from bed I looked at my phone and realized that I had forgot to turn on the ring tone, and only had the phone on vibrate.
"You have one voice message," the screen of the phone showed.
Picking up the phone I listen to the message, "Charm, it's me Tavia. Raymond left this morning but he left me something to give to you. Give me a call when you hear this message."
Raymond left? Why didn't he tell me? Why didn't he wait for me yesterday?
I quickly dialed Tavia's number, "Hello?"
"Charmaine?" she asked as she answered the phone.
"Where did Raymond go? Why didn't anyone tell me?" I asked her.
"Come over to my place Charm, I have something to give to you. I think it'll answer your questions."
I quickly got ready and went over to Tavia's place.
Upon arrival I saw that Ron and Bosco were there too. I knocked on the door.
Opening the door for me Tavia didn't say a word but point at a letter that was on the table.
Ron looked over to me and said right after I picked up the letter, "There's something else I have for you." He took out a black hard cover book. "Bosco and I found this when we went over to Raymond's place to clean up some stuff."
"We thought that you should have it," Bosco added.
Taking a hold of both the book and the letter I sat down on the couch and opened up the letter first.
It wrote:Dear Charmaine,
Sorry for not being able to meet up with you last night. I was going to tell you that I had to go over to the States, and I don't know if or when I will be coming back. My father is ill and my mother needs me to back home and help out with some stuff. I don't know what more I can say but sorry.

Sorry. Why must he say sorry to me? I just didn't get it. It didn't seem like him the write something like that to me. I tucked the letter back into the envelope that it had came with. I looked over to the black book that Ron had given me earlier.
Just as I was about to open it up Ron spoke up, "I think you should read it at home."
I looked over to Bosco and Tavia and they both nodded.
I got up and walked out the door and out of the silence. There was too much that I didn't know about at the moment, but apparently this book was supposed to answer all.
When I got home I went to my bedroom and settled down on my bed. I looked at the book for a bit before I opened it. Realizing only after I had flipped to the first page that this was no book, but it was Raymond's Diary.

Hi again you guys. The weather where am at is horrible today, so much snow "Brr..." Well so here's the deal, this story has started and it shall end with Charmaine as the narrator, but for the next section it will contain very short chapters each being and entry of Raymond's diary. So it's like the story is being retold by Raymond, but it will be fairly brief so it doens't get to repetitive. Well I shall be back soon, I'm gonna try to update a chapter everyday since it's short =) So I'll do my best and hope you guys enjoy !!!
