Chapter 29
Raymond's Diary: Day 6
I was walking home today, and the weather was horrible. The sky was gloomy as rain poured heavily from the thick clouds. As I made my way to the front gates I noticed a person who had laid down right before my feet. At first I assumed it was a homeless person with no place to go, but to my surprise as I turned the person over, it turned out to be an unconscious Charmaine. I tried to help her up but she was too weak to even stand. Quickly, I picked her up and brought her inside where it was warm. I brought her to the guest's room and got her some of my clothes to change into.
After she had changed, I helped her out of the washroom and she let out a sneeze. She had a fever. I went down to the kitchen and got her some medicine only to find out that she had not eaten yet. I decided to tuck her into bed and make her something to eat while she was sleeping. As I stood at the doorway I turned off the lights to the room. I stood there watching her sleep, she looked so peaceful I couldn't help but smile a bit. I made my way down to the kitchen once again to cook some congee for Charmaine to eat.
Time passed by quickly that afternoon. After I had finished making congee for Charmaine I went up to look at her. She was still asleep. She was tossing and turning, and her forehead was burning up. I had gotten up to get a wet towel to put on her forehead when I heard a loud scream. I rushed back in to the room seeing Charmaine who had shot up from the bed.
I sat down beside her telling her that it was just a bad dream she had. Her hand was pressed against her chest and I could feel her pulse racing with her arm against mine. I knew that it wasn't just the dream that was bothering her. I wasn't sure why, but I just knew.
It wasn't until minutes of silence until she spoke up. She told me that she saw that guy Kevin again and how he tried to make a move on her. It made me furious. How could he take advantage of her like that? I wanted to go find him and help Charmaine straighten things out but I knew better than that. Anger was not the answer, and at the moment, it was just not the right time. All I could do was be there for her and take care of her.
After wiping her tears away I told her I would be there for her and asked her for her insurance of our friendship. "Forever" that's what she said to me. Maybe it was my own fault for teller her before that I would be her "friend", and now I wasn't sure how she would feel if I want to advance a little in her relationship._______________________________________________
Hi everyone =D it's been a while since my last update >< had so many tests this past week (i hope i did okay loll). I have a week's break before I have to start classes again, so I'll try to update as often as I can. Well i hope you guys enjoy this short chapter. I'll probably update tomorrow so stay tuned!
