Chapter 3
Betrayal
That Tavia, her cell phone is always off. What's the point of having a cell phone if you never turn it on? I threw the phone on the couch. I had to let out my anger some how. I paced back and forth in my room wondering what was going on between Keith and Gigi. Hours have already passed since I had left them so I decided to go on my instant messaging account to see if they were online.
The computer was slow, and I was anxious to see if they were online or not. I ended up clicking on a button too many times causing the program to crash, resulting with me having to reboot the computer.
"Sigh," I took a deep breath, "Be patient Charmaine, be patient or it'll take even longer."
This time I clicked on the program once and waited for it to load. When it did, I signed in only to see that both of them were online. I opened a window for me and Gigi to chat in first asking, "Hey Gigi so how was the movie?"
She didn't reply. As I waited I noticed that Kevin had started a conversation with me. Opening that window I read, "Hey I missed you. Did you get home safely?" I
I couldn't help it; his words were so sweet, I just couldn't be mad at him. I replied, "I missed you too. And of course I got home safely, or I wouldn't be here typing this message to you. How was the movie?"
Looking at my other opened window, I saw that Gigi still hadn't replied yet so popped another message, "Gigi, you really that busy? What are you up to right now?"
Suddenly she popped me back a message, "No not really just talking to Kevin. Charmaine you're right, he is a really nice guy, and he even walked me home after the movie."
He walked her home? What was going on? Kevin never walked me home before. I was definitely getting jealous. Looking at their screen names carefully I noticed that both Gigi, and Kevin had today's date on it. Something was not right; I just had to ask her.
"Gigi, are you and Kevin going out?" anticipating for the answer my heart was about to shatter. I shouldn't miss him, he's a player, I kept telling myself, but I really do miss him. She was taking forever to answer but I finally saw the answer.
"Yes Charmaine, he asked me to be his girlfriend today."
I could feel my heart crash into the ground shattering into millions of tiny pieces. How could my best friend do such a thing to me? Suddenly another message popped up, this time it was from Kevin. "Charmaine, I'm sorry. I love you still I really do."
"If you do then you wouldn't have played me like a fool and gone out with her, and if she was my friend, she wouldn't even consider you."
I was frustrated not knowing what to do. Everything was too sudden. How could two strangers meet for the first time and be together? Were they just meant to be?
Gigi popped me another message, "Charmaine, you there? Are you mad at me? I don't see why you would be mad though. You guys weren't even really together like we are now,"
"Anyways I got to go, bye," I said leaving the conversation.
"Bye Kevin," I finished as a signed out. I was furious. How can they do that to me?
The next morning I was feeling much better. What isn't mine will never be mine right? So why don't I just let things be. If they want to be together, then let them be together. I turned on my phone too see if anyone called me, but no one did.
I called Tavia to check up on what she was doing. The dial tone rang for a long time until finally Tavia picked up, "Hello." Hearing her voice, it was obvious she had just woken up.
"Hey Tavia, it's me Charm. Sorry, did I wake you up?"
"No. It's okay. I needed a morning call anyways. Why does you're voice sound so down? Is something wrong?"
"So many things had gone on in such little time."
"Talk to me, my ears are all yours."
"Well I met this guys and I thought he was the one..." Charmaine told Tavia about the situation that had happened in the past few days as Tavia listened attentively without saying a word. "Now he is with Gigi, and long story short, I feel betrayed by not only the one I thought I loved, but also my best friend."
"Well I think you should forget about something so pointless. You have me, and there many others who care greatly about you."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"I know, my friends just came over yesterday, why don't you come out to my parent's restaurant later on and I'll introduce you to them. They're really nice," Tavia said trying to persuade me to go. I know it's for my best to forget about everything, but it felt like I just broke up with a guy, and I wasn't in the mood to go play and have fun.
"I don't know Tav; I'm really not up for it right now."
"Well okay, I'll give you call later on just in case you change you're mind. Or you can always give me a call. Anyways I got to go get ready; I'll talk to you later. Bye-bye!"
After Tavia hung up I turned on the TV and realized I had nothing to do. Instead of sitting at home alone and thinking of what had happened between me, Kevin, and Gigi, I decided to surprise Tavia and meet her at the restaurant.
Once I arrived at the restaurant I noticed that it was closed for the day. I rang on the doorbell, and shortly after Tavia came to open the door for me.
"You made it," Tavia said as she came and gave me a hug.
I nodded, "So where are those friends of yours?"
"Guys," she shouted, "Come out here; I've got someone I want you to meet."
Three guys stepped out. They looked familiar but I just couldn't recall who they were.

Sorry Rukes, didn't mean to turn Gigi so bad. Good news is that I'll be writing in Ray's character in the next chapter.
Anyone watching Drive of Life? Charray are so adorable. Helen I saw you post up some screen on the Charray thread of them eating dinner, and what appears to be them out on a date. I was just wondering if you know what episodes they are from. Can't wait until they air the cantonese version, just had to skim through the mandarin version for Charray scenes.
Well you guys, I have a new idea brewing in my head. I don't know if I want to write two fanfics at the same time though. What do you guys think I should do? Should I finish this one first before I start the new one? But if I start a new one it'll take me longer to update.
