Upon arrival, there were many reporters, but not too surprisingly it wasn't for my event, but rather the event for in the hall opposing mine. I walked in and there were a number of reporters who already set up microphones on the podium in the front.
This function allowed for my readers to ask me questions on my new novel. During the brief intermission Tavia decided to go meet up with Bosco. Other than that, everything went well at the even, but one question kept replaying in my head.
[Flashback:]______________________________________
The reporter held up her hand, "Ms. Sheh, if you where to re-write the plot line of the female and male lead in the novel, would you write it differently and allow them to be together?"
I smiled, "If I had the chance, I think that the female lead would've told the male lead what she felt in her heart from the start."

If only we could re-write our own history, I wouldn't have let him go so easily.
When the function was over I signed a few autographs.
"Everyone get down," someone screamed from the other hall. The voice was followed by several banging noises that sounded like gun shots. I looked around to see what was going on. Just then the door from the other hall opened as a mad man came walking out with this evil laughter. We made eye contact.
"Get down," my body guard yelled out as he came running towards me. He wrapped his arms around me as he pushed me to the ground.
Gun shots went off as though the man did not have to reboot his gun.
My hands covered my ears. My body guard still hand his arms wrapped tightly around me. With my chest pressed against his, I felt our hearts beat in harmony, his heavy breathing, all felt so familiar, so secure.
The banging stopped as police sirens approached the scene.
From the ground he helped me up after letting go of his grip around me.
"Are you okay?" he asked as he patted my hair and looked around me to see if there were any scratches. "Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need me to take you the hospital?"
That voice, it was as though a light bulb just turned on in my head. I looked at him and shook my head. It was as though time stopped as my hands approached his face. I reached for his sunglasses and took them off. His eyes, his face, it was him.
I leaped into his arms as I cried, but these tears were no longer tears of sorrow, but tears of joy. "I found you," was what I whispered to him as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Though his hair was cut differently, and was it me, or did his skin colour get a little lighter; the warmth from his eyes was something I would never forget.
"Charmaine," he whispered to me as he hugged me back.
As I pulled out of our embrace I asked him, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
He took his hand and placed it against my face, "I wanted to, but every time I opened my mouth the words just didn't seem to come out. It's been so long Charmaine, when I decided to leave, I thought I knew how you felt about me, but I guess I was wrong."
"Where have you been these past few years though? We were all really worried about you," I asked out of concern and curiosity.
Suddenly a police officer came up to us, "Are the two of you okay?"
I nodded, but as I got up I noticed a puddle of blood where Raymond was lying.
"Raymond your arm is bleeding," I called out.
He chuckled, "It's just a little scratch."
"Come on," the policemen said as he helped Raymond up, "let's get you to the paramedics."
I followed them onto the ambulance as we left to the hospital.
"Okay you're all wrapped up. Just make sure you don't wet it," the nurse said as she opened the curtains.
I walked over to Raymond, "Are you okay?"
He nodded.
I placed my hand on his arm right above his bandages and looked at him. He looked back at me; he seems to have been through a lot, and there was most definitely a lot on his mind.
He grabbed my hand as he pointed to the exit. With his jacket swung over his shoulder on one side and his hand in mine on the other we walked out of the hospital in silence.
The hospital wasn't too far from my house, the two of us walked and walked until we arrived at the park. Raymond brought me over to the bench as we sat there. With my hand still in his he turned and faced me.
"I remember it like it was yesterday," he spoke up breaking the silence. "I was sitting over there on the swings as I over heard you and Tavia talking."
"I'm really sorry Raymond," I said to him. "I never expected you to hear our conversation."
Oddly a smile spread across his face and taking his other hand he placed it on top of my hand that he was holding onto.
"You must be wondering what had happened to me these past two years," he said as he looked up into the starry sky. "That same day I got a call from my mom telling me that my dad was in the hospital. Taking the quickest plane back home, I managed to see my father for the last time. It wasn't too much of a shock for me; he's been battling cancer for a while, and may be death was the best resolution for him. Being his only child, he had always hoped that I would carry out his business for him, and his business being this security organization. These past two years I've been going around with top secret government officials and have been burying myself with work that could not be seen by those in the outside world. It was last year when I found out that you needed a body guard, I really wanted to be there to take care of you, but at the time, I still wasn't sure how you felt about me, and I was still busy with my government work, so I sent out Frankie, one of my most reliable agents."
He paused and looked at me with a warm smile, "This past year I've been debating on whether or not I should come out of my secretive work and come find you. It wasn't until yesterday," he chuckled. "You know Charmaine; I think you have your biggest fan sitting next to you."
I smirked, "Oh really, does this fan of mine want an autograph from me?"
He touched my noise with his finger as I giggled, "Where was I, it wasn't until yesterday when I bought a copy of your book. It was only then I realized that I was wrong about your feelings towards me. I then called Frankie to notify him that I would take over his position so I could be with you."
Hearing Raymond's story, I realized that it was partially my fault that he has been gone for so long.
"The day you left, you gave me a letter saying you were sorry," I told him. "Today I'm going to tell you that you had nothing to be sorry for, and that the person that has to say sorry is me. I was a coward for not confessing my feelings, and I feel that it has been one of the biggest mistakes that I have made. I lost a lot of precious time with you."
Before I could finish what I wanted to say he placed a finger over my lips, "We have plenty of time in our future Charmaine, the two of us together."
I looked into his eyes, as he looked into mine. I felt my heart begin to race. He wrapped his arm around my waist pulling me in closer to him. As we leaned forward, closer to one another our lips finally met.
Although Raymond and I are two different people, and we might have lived in two different worlds, but the two of us shared the same soul. As the two of us shared this passionate kiss the only thing going on in my mind were some very pretty wedding bells, and the newest addition to my novel collection.
