Chapter 5
Two Peas in a Pod
Boyfriend? I was thinking in my head, why would he say that?
Kevin's face didn't look too happy as he said, "I didn't know you had a boyfriend Charmaine."
"Congratulations Charm," Gigi said. "That's great to hear."
I was speechless, and unsure of what to say.
I then heard Tavia call out, "Hey what do you guys want to watch?"
"We better get going; our friends are waiting for us. Nice meeting you," Raymond said pulling me away from the awkward situation.
"Nice meeting you too," Gigi called out as she walked away with Kevin.
I turned my head around to look at them and Kevin turned his head around too look at us. Why did that all have to happen?
"Forget him Charmaine," Raymond said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked him.
"You and that guy, it's not worth you mourning over false love."
How could he have possibly known, it's not like I told him anything. Then again there was Tavia. Why would she tell him?
As we walked over to Tavia, Bosco and Ron, I marched up to Tavia. "Why did you tell him what I just told you earlier?" I asked her with fury as I pointed at Raymond. "I trusted you, that's why I told you and then you go and tell him?"
"What are you talking about Charm? I'm your cousin, have a little more faith in me, I would never tell you're secrets out to anyone if you didn't let me before hand."
"Then how does he know?"
"I don't know how he knows, and even if I did tell him, it's not like you wouldn't know. After you told me we've been walking as a group ever since, and he's usually walking beside you," she defended.
She was right. How would it have been possible for Raymond to know? Tavia and Raymond never stood together alone after I had told her what happened, and even if she told him, I would've heard. Just then someone pulled my arm dragging me to one side as I was in my pool of thoughts.
"It's not Tavia's fault," he whispered.
"I know it's not her fault Raymond, but I'm just wondering, how you could have known."
"I can read people's lips," he muttered.
How could he? I thought to myself. I thought he was a good guy. To find out that he intrudes into other people's privacy, meaning mine really angered me. I was really disappointed in him.
Tavia began walking towards us and asked, "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, everything's fine. Let's go Tavia," I said as I linked arms with her and walked away leaving Raymond and the other guys behind in the store..
"I think I'm going to go home Tav," I said quietly.
"Why Charm? Is there something wrong? Do you not feel well?" she asked me concerned.
"No," I lied. I didn't want to see Raymond. Though I had just met him, he seemed like such a nice guy helping me out in these past few hours. To think that he had intruded in my privacy without my permission made me really upset, I didn’t want to see him. "It's getting late, and you know how my parents are."
"It's noon, and it's still bright out Charm," Tavia said.
She was right, what kind of lie was that? She knew I didn't feel like talking so we just walked in silence.
"Hey you two," Bosco shouted. "We got some movies, now lets get a move on to Ray's place."
Raymond looked at me. His face, his expression, he just looked so guilty. What are you thinking Charmaine? You're too weak. You can't forgive someone so easily.
Tavia nudged me on the side. She looked at me, really wanting me to go and have some fun after all that had happened. "Are you sure you don't want to go?" she muttered to me.
Once again Raymond was watching us talk. "Tavia, how about you guys walk off first, I want to talk to Raymond about something."
"Raymond?" she asked surprised. "Is there something going on between you two? I mean, it's not like you. You guys just met, and I have already seen you guys walking fairly close to one another."
"No it's nothing. We're just friends," I told her. "I hope."
They all walked along giving me some time to talk to Raymond. "Why don't you mind you're own business? Why must you always "read our lips" if that's what you actually do?"
"I'm sorry. It's just that..." he trailed off. It seemed like he had something to say. He looked away in the opposite direction. "Before I had become a singer, my dream was to be a psychiatrist. Why a psychiatrist you might wonder? Well, I remember it was like yesterday, I was with my girlfriend and we were walking along the beach. Everything was picture perfect as we watched the sunset."
He had paused as he turned around to look back at me. It was strange, how he opened up to me. It's not like we knew each other for that long, but it felt like we knew each other since forever. His eyes were so sincere; it made it really difficult for me to be mad at him.
"As the day came to an end so did our relationship," he continued. "It turned out that the one she wanted to be with wasn't me, but was with someone else, that someone else being one of my closest friends. From that day on we parted ways, and I never saw her or my closest friend again. That pain I will be forever remembered. I would not want anyone to suffer like I did, with no guidance and support to get through the situation. That's why I wanted to be a psychiatrist, to help people overcome their psychological pain, people including you. I didn't want to intrude your privacy; it’s just that, I really wanted to help you."
Wow, so much drama that he had gone through. "So I guess we're just two peas in a pod right?" I smiled at him to let him know that I was not longer mad at him. So in the end he was a good guy, the only intention he had was to help me.

Yeah I realized that the screen caps were later on in the plot Helen, but thanks. I too hope TVB keeps more of the scenes. Also the scene of Ray in the brown velvet jacket was in episode 30 near the ending =). It was a really cute scene! I was disappointed to find out that CCTV cut out so many of the Charray scenes. As for my new story, I plan to write another Charray fanfic, but I don't want to spoil the plot just yet. I've decided to start writing it when I get a little more time on my hands, which is hopefully soon.
