"Zax!" Hebe gasped as she supported him with her arms. Her hands felt something oozing out from his back. Hebe's legs went weak as she saw blood on her hands. She struggled to support Zax's weight on her, they fell to the ground together.
"Zax! Are you ok? How are you feeling? Why did you do this? Why did you rush in front of me?" Hebe said in between sobs as she hugged the injured Zax in her arms.
"Because...I...l-love yyou..." Zax tried his best to finish his words. "I don't..wwant..anything...to happen..to you...I just wwant yyou to... be..hhappy."
"Zax..." Hebe mumbled as more tears flowed from her eyes.
"Promise me...Promise mme.. you'll be... happy, ok?" Zax said with the remaining strength he had left. His body was feeling cold and his wound hurt badly. The sight of Hebe crying made the pain even more unbearable.
"Hebe, please smmile. I don't wwant to... seee yyou cry..before i ddie.."
"No! Don't say that! You will not die!" Hebe turned to Old Wang. "look what you've done? You shot your own son!"
Old Wang stood expressionlessly with the gun still in the air, the hand that held the gun was trembling terribly.
"My son...my son...ZAX!!...I...I'm sorry...Dad didn't mean it..." Old Wang stared at the lifeless body in front of him. Witout warning, Old Wang brought his gun to his head. He pressed it against his temple and pulled the trigger.
"No!!" Lee Hom and JR. shouted together and dashed forward to stop him. But it was too late. The second bullet from Old Wang's gun was launched. Hebe closed her eyes tightly and hugged Zax's body as she avoided the gruesome scene. She could feel droplets of blood splash onto her face. Hebe opened her eyes slowly, Old Wang had fallen to the ground and lay motionlessly in his own blood.
The metallic smell of blood filled the stale air in the now lifeless ballroom in the Tian's mansion. The place was filled with silence. An eerie silence. All Hebe could hear was her own heart beat and the soft sniffles of her sobs.
This was how it ended.
Blood shed. Lives lost.
Hebe stood up and sought comfort in Lee Hom's arms.
"Everything's gonna be fine..." Lee Hom comforted her as he soothed her trembling body.
