Lee Hom held Hebe's hand as they walk up the stairs in the Wang's mansion.
"Don't you think this is too soon?" Hebe asked as Lee Hom dragged her up the stairs. It had been a month after the incident in Los Angeles, but it was not until last week had they arrived back in Taipei.
Hebe had officially taken over her father's business and had since been learning diligently under Lee Hom and a few of HeTian's main shareholders.
"But my grandparents are dying to see you." Lee Hom slowed down his pace and walked beside Hebe. Marriage was in the talks for the both of them and Hebe had already met Lee Hom's parents back in New York.
"But I heard from JR. that your grandfather..." Hebe mumbled.
"He's just scaring you..." Lee Hom interrupted her words and patted her head amusingly. They had walked to the entrance of the room where Lee Hom's grandparents were.
"Relax." Lee Hom placed his hand on Hebe's shoulders and led her into the room.
Hebe was greeted by the sight of JR. and two elderly people as she walked through the door. They were sitting on a sofa facing them. JR. had a weird expression and silly grin plastered on his face. Hebe's eyes widen in surprise as she registered the faces of the two elderly.
"Grandpa? Grandma?" Hebe gasped as she looked at the two familiar faces. They exchanged glances with each other and smiled.
"Hebe...you know them?" Lee Hom looked curiously at everyone in the room, they seem to know something which he was not aware of.
"They...they were the ones who sold me the jade pendant. Your jade pendant."
"The ones who owned an antique shop in Gaoh Shiung?" Lee Hom then turned to his grandparents. "Grandpa? Since when did we had an antique shop?" His grandfather ignored his question and looked at JR. "JR... Do you happen to know something?" Lee Hom glanced at JR., raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, why would his grandparents sell me the jade pendant if it's your family treasure?" Hebe asked.
"Actually, Grandpa and Grandma did that on purpose. So... the both of you could meet." JR. scratched the back of his head. "They knew of your true identity even before all this happened. We thought that if HeTian and HomWay were to merge, the 2 powerful organisations would be invincible. And since the only way for a merger between the two companies was through marriage. Grandpa came up with the plan to bring the both of you together."
"You mean you knew about this plan all along and are in cahoots with them?" Lee Hom asked the obvious. "The night I was attacked and thrown at Hebe's doorsteps was also on planned?"
"Yes...in fact... they are our men..." JR. nodded uneasily.
"Grandpa, you actually got our own men to attack your own grandson?" Lee Hom asked his Grandpa in disbelief.
"But he made sure you and Hebe were safe all this while, didn't he? Remember the gunshot in Gao Shiung? Our men had always been secretly following you around the clock. And at the motel in LA? The bullet missed you because it collided with mine... You were too weak to realise I was there with you all along." JR. explained to his friend.
"But you told me the bullet was removed..." Lee Hom muttered under his breath, unhappy that his friend had lied to him.
"That would spoil all the fun..." JR. grinned again. "What matters now is that everything had gone as planned."
Lee Hom exchanged glances with Hebe, they were not sure whether they should be happy or angry, after all, they were both victims of a scheme to bring two powerful organisations together. But if it was not for this wonderful plan, HeTian and Homway would not have been able to merge and most of all, Lee Hom and Hebe would not have met each other and fall in love with each other.
