Hebe dragged her sore feet as she followed beside Lee Hom. They had been travelling from one antique shop to another all around Gaoh Shiung for the past three hours under the scorching afternoon sun.
"Have we finished? Why are there so many antique shops in Gaoh Shiung?" Hebe complained as she fanned herself with both hands. Lee Hom stopped and turned to look at her with an annoyed look on his face.
"You still have the cheek to complain? It's all your fault that we have to search the whole Gaoh Shiung for that antique shop. If you'd asked for more information that time, I would've caught the thieves already." Lee Hom gave her a glare and continued walking.
"You're putting all the blame on me?" Hebe stopped in her tracks and placed her hands on her waist. Lee Hom ignored her and continued walking. "Well, if you had done a better job taking care of the jade and prevent it from being stolen, would we be tiring ourselves here?"
Lee Hom rolled his eyes and stopped outside a shop. From the outside, it looked like it was closed because everything inside was dark. Lee Hom stepped forward and cupped his hands over his eyes and plastered his face on the glass window.
"It's not open..." Hebe mumbled from behind, she stepped a few steps backward and peered at the shop name. Suddenly, an idea struck her. She looked at Lee Hom, then peered onto the streets. Making sure the coast was clear, she turned and ran as quietly as possible into the alley.
"We'll..." Lee Hom turned around and stopped short when he saw no one in sight. He looked into the distance just in time to see Hebe turned a corner into the alley. "Sh*t!" He took off and ran after her.

Hebe leaned against a rough gravel wall and panted, trying to catch her breath. She had ran past a few streets before she managed to shake the irritating man off. She hugged her growling stomach.
"I'm starved..." She had skipped lunch that afternoon and had just finished running a 'marathon', all the energy had long been drained from her body. She walked into a run-down restaurent nearby and started filling her empty stomach.
Umm, delicious! Hebe had ordered a whole table of food and was eating like there was no tomorrow.
"Delicious?" A voice sounded above her head. Hebe nodded happily without even looking up to see where the voice came from. Wait a minute, Hebe stopped short, that voice! She lifted her head up abruptly with her mouth full. Her eyes opened wide until they are about to pop out of her sockets. Wang Lee Hom!! Hebe choked on her food and stood up, ready to run. Before her butt even left the seat, she was pressed back down by Lee Hom. "Heyz, why are you in a hurry? Sit down and finish your food, don't waste it. You need to have lots of energy to run, right?" Lee Hom said in amusement, his hands were pressed on her shoulders to prevent her from leaving her seat. He released his hands only when he was sure she wasn't struggling and settled down in the seat opposite. "Wow, the food looks scrumptious! Excuse me! One bowl of rice please!" Lee Hom called to the counter then started helping himself to the food.
Hebe stared helplessly at Lee Hom in front of her. How did he managed to find her in such a short period of time? She was sure she had shook him off just now! As is he could read her mind, Lee Hom swallowed his food and looked up.
"Have you forgotten about the bug in YOUR pendant?" Lee Hom asked with a grin on his face. Hebe shifted her gaze to her bag then back at Lee Hom.
"Umm!Whydidntithinkofit?" Hebe mumbled to herself with her mouth stuffed with food and knocked her own head.
"Seems like I wasn't wrong when I said you were stupid..." Lee Hom shook his head and continued eating.

"I'm full!" Hebe leaned back on her chair and gulped down a glass of water. They had been eating in the restaurant for about half and hour.
"Finished eating? Then let's go!" Lee Hom stood up and headed for the door.
"Eh, wait!Aren't you going to pay for the meal?" Hebe stood up and called out to him.
"Miss Lin, if I didn't remember wrongly, you were the one who ordered the food, I only asked for a bowl of rice." Lee Hom paused, then continued,"but if you insist, then I'll pay for the rice I ordered." Lee Hom reached into his pocket and dug out a few coins. Hebe watched with disbelief.
"Mr Wang, you... but you ate the food!" Hebe pointed to the food.
"But you ordered them in the first place, not me. I was just helping you finish them." With that, Lee Hom ended their conversation by walking away. He stuck his hands into his pocket and throtted out of the restaurant. Hebe was left with no other choice but to pay the bill. What a gentleman!
Lee Hom stood outside the restaurant, smirking. This should teach her a lesson for trying to run away with the jade. She must be in cahoots with the thieves, why else would she attempt to escape if she wasn't hiding something?
Hebe stepped out of the restaurant and peered around, looking for another chance to escape. Sadly, there wasn't any way she could do that. Lee Hom was standing beside a black limousine, waiting for her. Hebe sighed.
"So you still wanna escape?" Lee Hom teased. Hebe ignored him and stood rooted to the ground. "Get in." Lee Hom pointed to the car.
"Why should-" Before Hebe could finish her words, she heard the deafening sound of breaking glass behind her as the windows of the restaurant broke and collapsed into pieces onto the ground. Hebe let out a scream and lurched forward. Lee Hom sensed something was amiss and reached out his hand to pull Hebe towards him. Everyone inside the restaurant were scurrying for their lives.
Someone had just fired a shot! Lee Hom looked across the streets, in hope of seeing any suspicious figures.
"What just happened?!" Hebe shrieked. "Could it be your attackers? It must be! They wanted to shoot you!" Lee Hom didn't answer her, he didn't have time to think now. He grabbed Hebe's hand and pushed her into the car. Hebe started to struggle. "Hey! What are you trying to do? Let Go! Someone's trying to kill you, what if they accidentally harm me? Let go!"
"It's dangerous now! If you don't get into the car now, someone might just fire another shot!" He warned her, but Hebe wasn't listening to whatever Lee Hom was saying because she was scared out of her wits already, now all she wants is to stay away from this man.
As if answering Lee Hom's words, a bullet flew silently out of nowhere towards them. Hebe let out a shriek as she felt something slashed her temple. A burning hot sensation spread through her skin. The pain was so overwhelming it made her knees go weak. She tasted something metallic as she leaned towards Lee Hom for support, her hands hugging her forehead to ease the pain. Lee Hom supported her weight and looked at his 10 o'clock direction. He helped Hebe into the car and sped off as fast as possible.
Hebe leaned on the seat of the car, the pain had yet to subside,it made her weak to make any sound. Lee Hom supported her head with his hands. They were stained with the blood from Hebe's wound. Hebe struggled to keep her eyes open. Her vision was blurred by the blood flowing down her forehead. The liquid hurt her eyes like piercing needles, it forced her to close her eyes. She felt her head twirl as she drifted out of consciousness...
