The poshy convertible pulled up beside a classy white shophouse. Lee Hom led Hebe through the heavy glass door and stopped in front of the counter. A beautiful receptionist looked up from her papers and recognise Lee Hom immediately.
"Mr Wang! It's been a long time since you last came! One moment please while I call for Jorge." The receptionist stood up and straightened her hairdresser's apron and walked further into the salon which was blocked out by an artificial brick wall. Lee Hom turned to Hebe.
"Jorge is one of my good friends and the owner of this place and a very skilled hairstylist. He's worked with many celebrities and famous people, you'll be styled under him." Hebe raised an eyebrow, she had never expected they would come to the best salon in town and be styled under one of the best stylist in the entertainment industry. Her smile turned stiff.
At that moment, they heard footsteps and soon after, a tall figure emerged from behind the door. He was dressed in black, his blonde-stricked shoulder-length hair was neatly styled behind his neck. He smiled and spread his hands as he walked towards Lee Hom with a huge grin on his face.
"Lee Hom~!How've you been?"
"Great,Jorge, I'm fine thanks..." Lee Hom patted his hand on Jorge's back.
"Really? I read the papers, there were so many news about you. Most of them weren't very good..." Jorge placed a worried hand on Lee Hom's shoulder.
"Yeap, I'm still dealing with them, very soon I'll get to the bottom of it...But it's a long story, I'll tell ya when I have the time. But for now I need your help..." Lee Hom pulled Hebe in front of him and placed two hands on her shoulders. "This is Hebe, i need your help to give her a new look..." He paused and looked at Jorge. Jorge looked her from head to toe and gave Lee Hom a is-there-something-i-should-know look.
"And Hebe's your..." Jorge drew little circles in the air with his index finger and trailed off.
"I just need you to style her that's all, the rest..can I tell you when i have the time? It's...a long story..." Lee Hom avoided the question and walked through the door.
Jorge began his work on Hebe while Lee Hom waited by the coffee table, handling some company affairs through his phone.

After about 3 hours of waiting, Lee Hom heard them walk towards him from behind. He set the magazine down on the table and turned around. There was Jorge in front of him. Then, a foot took a step out and Hebe slowly emerged from behind Jorge. Lee Hom observed Hebe's new look. There was this weird feeling in his stomach as he looked at her. Is this the Hebe he was with just 3 hours ago? This Hebe standing in front of him now was fairer and more feminine. Lee Hom liked the way her now shorter shoulder-length hair rested on her cheeks, and how her fringe made her face look even tinier. Lee Hom gave a little cough but something still seemed to be stuck in his throat, making it hard for him to breathe.
"How is it? Beautiful huh?" Jorge turned Hebe around and admired his work. "Anything works perfectly under my hands... You know she actually has a really nice face shape and facial features. All she need is a style that can create a contrast to her face. Look how nice she looks now!" Jorge praised. Lee Hom laughed at his friend.
"I have to admit you're the best hairstylist I've ever met~! She really does look....different. Really thanks alot for your help! I'll treat you lunch some time okay? We have to head to Chanel now."

Hebe never said a word ever since she stepped out of the salon with Lee Hom. She had not recovered from her shock yet after her hair and face were done. Even she could not believe how she looked like now. It was something she had only dared to dream of. Something she had thought would only happen in the movies.
"You okay? You haven't muttered a single word ever since you came out from the salon." Lee Hom looked away from the windscreen and glanced at Hebe. Hebe turned her head slowly and looked at Lee Hom.
"I...haha...to tell the truth...I don't know what to say... really...I didn't expect myself to turn out like that...haha..." Hebe stumbled upon her words and gave an uneasy laugh.
"So you see...there's no ugly woman, only lazy ones. Of course, you're actually very pretty like what Jorge said, all you need is a little help. We're getting you some clothes to match your new look, I'm sure you'll look even better by then..." Lee Hom tightened his grip on the steering wheel, he was sure he was just trying to comfort Hebe, but he could not explain why his words felt like they came from the bottom of his heart...
Hebe looked out of the car window and bit her lip. Her heart was racing when she heard his words. They seemed to ease her uneasiness so easily, but a whole new feeling filled her heart almost immediately. She was really thankful he had help her realise a dream that she had only dared to fantasize of. Hebe even felt glad that she had met him.
"...Th...Thank you..." Hebe mumbled without shifting her gaze from the window. Lee Hom turned towards her again and smiled. He realise he liked being around her, how her naiveness seem to reflect the longingness and freedom he had never had because of his family background.
For the two weeks they had spent with each other, he had wondered for countles times, how his life would have been if he wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, would he be happy, would he have the freedom he had always wanted, would he starve to death if he was poor? Most of all, would he have met Hebe?...
