Chapter 1

Do You Remember...

Hello Everyone, just to let you guys know, the story kind of had a crappy start, and was definitely not the mood that I had intended, but as this is JUST the boring start off, to introduce to you guys the story and characters. As the story goes on, it will develop, as it should.

Right now, it may seem as though Mich has a minor role, but it’s only ‘cause I just didn’t know how to introduce her character to the story (!!!!). But for sure, by Chapter Two, you will be reading LOTS of her (guarantee!)^_^

Chapter One

“Do you remember how we first met?”

“Yes…”

“Aiyah, I’m so sorry,” she clumsily apologized, as she bent down to help him pick up the papers scattered all over the floor. “Here, let me help you get that.”

“No, it’s my fault for not watching where I was going,” he apologized in return.

As she helped him to pick up the last piece of paper, “Here you are…” then notices the name on the form, “… Raymond… Lam.”

Raymond chuckles, “Nice to meet you too…” as he extends his hand out.

“Rain…” she replies as she too extends her hand out to shake his, “… Lee. Nice to meet you,” she cheerfully greets him.

“… I thought you were the world’s most cheerful, most clumsy girl I’ve ever met, and yet you seem to have captured your smile into my heart.”

“But just like a smile, love too, will fade away.”

“So are you new here? I haven’t seen you here before?”

“Yeah, I just graduated from the Police Training Academy,” Raymond answers. “Have you been here for a while,” he asked, due to the curiosity of her youthfulness.

“No,” Rain laughs at her wording. “I just came today too. I must’ve sounded like I’ve worked here for years.”

Raymond laughs, “So what department are you in?”

“Oh, I’m in the Public Relations Department,” she answers. “Yeah, I just work on the paperwork, since I’m not very athletic or well-coordinated as you can probably tell.” They both laugh as they looked down to the floor where the papers were scattered. “How about you, are you in some special police task force? I don’t think you’ll be in Public Relations with me.”

“I wish I could be in the Special Police Task Force, but I’m just a starting cop, so I’m in the Criminal Investigations Department for now. Soon though, I plan on transferring there within a year’s time.”

“Wah, at least you have ambition,” Rain amazed. “I do too,” she quickly added, “This is just a temporary job for me, I’m studying Law right now.”

“Really? I have a friend who is…” Raymond started.

“Rain?!” “Raymond?!”

Raymond and Rain turn to their right of the hallway to see two other co-workers approach them.

“Hey Patrick,” Raymond responds to one of them.

“Alex!” Rain greets the other enthusiastically.

“So it’s really you, I have been looking all over for you. I thought I told you to meet me at the front doors,” Alex scolded.

“I did, and you were approximately one minute late, so I went on my own,” Rain defended herself, “and you shouldn’t be scolding me like you’re my mother in front of your friend or my friend.”

Alex then realizes that he had totally disregarded the other two people standing next to them. “Oh, I’m sorry,” he apologizes to Raymond, “I’m Alex Fong,” he introduces, as he shakes Raymond’s hand.

“I’m Raymond Lam,” Raymond in turn shakes his hand.

“This is Patrick,” Alex introduces to Rain.

“Hi,” Rain cheerfully greets him. “I’m Rain.”

“Hey, nice to meet you,” Patrick greeted in return. “Well, it seems like we all know each other already.”

“Really?!” Rain asked, not knowing what he meant.

“Oh, Patrick and I were friends since childhood,” Raymond explained.

“Yup,” Patrick confirmed.

“Hey, that’s cool, Alex and I were friends since childhood too!” Rain amazed at the coincidence.

“Yes, and that’s so much in common,” Alex mocked.

But before Rain could retort, Patrick informs, “Now we just have to meet your final new co-worker, and we’ve introduced everybody.”

“Who’s that?” both Rain and Raymond asked.

“Me.”

Rain and Raymond turn to their surprise, and see a youthful girl approach them.

“Hi, I’m Michelle, your new co-worker from now on,” she greets them all generally.

“Hi, I’m Rain…”

“… Raymond…”

“… Alex…”

“… and I’m Patrick,” they all greeted individually as they shook hands with her.

“Well, now that we all introduced ourselves, shouldn’t we be getting to our department, otherwise, you guys are going to be late the first day,” Alex cautioned.

“Yes, I want to get to the Criminal Investigations Department as soon as possible,” Michelle comments.

“You’re in that department too?!” Raymond exclaimed.

“You are too?!” Michelle muses, though not as enthusiastically.

“Aww... now don’t you call this fate?” Rain jokes to Alex, causing Raymond to blush.

“I don’t know about fate, but I’ll know soon if I don’t get you to the Public Relations Department,” Alex said, as he put his hands on Rain’s shoulder to lead her to the department.

“Oh yeah,” Rain remembers, turning back around, “Hey, you guys want to meet for lunch today, seeing that you guys are the first co-workers I’ve met.”

“Sure,” Raymond answers almost instantaneously.

“Wah, you didn’t have to answer so fast you know,” Patrick quietly teases Raymond.

Michelle not noticing the comment, “Where should we meet?”

“Why don’t we just meet here when we get off for lunch, and decide then,” Rain suggested.

“Okay, okay, that’s settle,” Alex rushes, “Now let’s get going.”

“Yes, mother, I’m going, I’m going,” Rain teases as she starts on her way.
