Just wanted to mention, that I will be adding a new feature to each chapter from now. At the end of every chapter, there will be a quote that comes straight from the story. And as the story draws near the end, it will stop, as most of the quotes will be from future events ~_^

Chapter Two
“Now that you have all been introduced, let’s get back to work, we have a lot of stuff to do.”
“Yes Sir,” everyone in the Criminal Investigations Department saluted their Head Officer, Kwok Sir.
“Mark, you get Raymond and Michelle updated on what we’ve been doing up to now,” Kwok Sir instructed.
“Yes Sir.”
“If you guys have any questions, just ask Mark, he’ll more than likely be able to help you out,” Kwok Sir acknowledged.
“Thank You Sir,” both Raymond and Michelle saluted.
“There’s no need to be so distant, just call me Kwok Sir like everyone else,” Kwok Sir smiled, “Otherwise, it’s hard to work together.”
“Yes, Kwok Sir.”
“Okay, I’ll come check on you guys as soon as my meeting is over,” and with that Kwok Sir left.
Raymond, “So is there anything we can help you with?”
“Well, we don’t have any cases to follow right now, we’re just finishing up the write-up on the last one, so I guess you guys have it easy for the time being,” Mark explained. “The only thing I can think of for you to do is to just get a general background of this department and its past cases I suppose.”
“Will there be any new cases soon,” Michelle asked, disappointed that the first day turned out to be an information-collecting day.
“You better hope not when working in this department,” Mark jokes. “There’s really nothing at the moment.”
“Well, we could have been doing something for lunch if guys weren’t taken for lunch,” Eileen complains. “Kwok Sir offered to take us all out for lunch, and you turned it down.”
“Please Eileen, at least they are starting to get to know people around here on their first day,” Uncle Kuk scolded. “That’s nice that they adapt easily here. Eating lunch can come any time.”
“Yes, I’ll take everyone out to lunch tomorrow, as an apology for not being able to go today,” Raymond offered.
“Okay,” Eileen quickly confirmed, “And you guys can’t say I forced him.”
Raymond grins at the comment, “So we’re confirmed for tomorrow?”
“Yup,” they all agreed.

“Nice to meet you Miss Tong,” Rain bowed slightly after being introduced to Secretary of the Public Relations Department.
“Please, just call me Angela, I’m not even much older than you,” Angela joked, “If you call me Miss Tong, it makes me sound so old.”
Rain laughs at the comment, “Okay, Angela, is there anything I can help you with?”
“I have some files you can help me with, but we can do that later, first, let’s get aquainted,” Angela said, as she slides her chair to where Rain’s desk was. “So was that guy that was with you, your boyfriend?”
“You mean Alex?!” Rain exclaimed, “No, he’s like a big brother to me.”
“I don’t think so,” Angela speculated, “Big brother’s wouldn’t treat their younger sister with such constant concern and details.”
“No, Alex and I will be nothing more than brother and sister,” Rain stated, but goes on to joke, “But if you would like to get aquainted with him, you should join us for lunch. A group of us are meeting together for lunch this afternoon.”
“That’s okay, he’s to young for me,” Angela commented, “I look for the sophisticated, mature, older type. Besides, I have to go to a meeting this afternoon, so I can’t.”
Rain laughs at her gestures, “Okay, next time then.”

“What are you doing?”
“Alex,” Rain turns in surprise of Alex’s appearance, “What are you doing here?”
“Look at the time,” explains Alex, as he taps on his watch, “You’re not that busy that you don’t even have time for lunch do you?”
Rain looks up at the clock, “Omigosh, I was so caught up with what I was doing, that I lost track of time.”
“Didn’t your friend here tell you?” Alex looks around, “By the way where is she?”
“She had to go to a meeting, so she left already.”
“Well then, what are we waiting for then, the rest of them will be waiting for us”
“Okay, let me grab my bag first.”

“I’m so sorry guys,” Rain quickly approaches Raymond, Patrick, and Michelle, who were waiting by the same hall they met in the morning. “I was so caught up with what I was doing, I forgot about the time,” she finishes explaining with Alex right behind her trail.
Smiling as she approached them, “Did you have a lot to do today?” Raymond asks Rain out of interest.
“Can we talk about work after we find a place to eat, my stomach is growling,” Patrick complains, while gently rubbing his stomach.
“Have we decided where to go for lunch yet?” Alex asked.
“Well, there is newly opened buffet near here, if you guys want to give it try,” Michelle suggested.
“Ooh, I love buffets, let’s go there,” Rain eagerly agrees.
“That’s because it’s ‘all you can eat,’” Alex explains to the rest of them, as they laugh at Rain, whom Raymond kept his eyes on the whole time.
“That is not true, and I will not stay here any longer to be insulted,” Rain pouts, “Let’s go Michelle,” as she takes Michelle’s arm, and leads her out, with the guys following behind.

“Wah, there’s soooo much food here,” Rain mazes.
“Not to mention a lot of people,” Alex says as he looks around.
Just then a well-dressed man approaches the group.
“Michelle, you brought your friends here for lunch today?” the man addresses Michelle as the rest of them look amongst themselves.
“Yes, Uncle Cheng,” Michelle addresses the man, as she tried to stay distant, “but it looks like the place is full.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure there will be room for you and your friends,” Uncle Cheng assures, “Just wait here a second.”
As Uncle Cheng leaves, “Wah, you know the owner of this buffet?” Patrick says, impressed.
“Yeah, Uncle Cheng has been a family friend ever since I was young,” Michelle explains.
Just then Uncle Cheng approaches them once again, and seats them near a window.
“You’re family must be very rich,” Patrick continues from his first comment.
Raymond, seeing that Patrick was putting Michelle in an awkward position, “Whether or not Michelle’s rich is none of your business I believe,” as he turns to Michelle, who in turn, smiles softly back.
Patrick, getting the hint, “Well, you know, just trying to get to know the girls better,” changing the topic, “How about you Rain, do you have a boyfriend yet?”
“Wah, that’s not a very nice job of changing the subject,” Rain teased. “I don’t know about a having a boyfriend, but I do have a craving for food,” she says, getting up to go to the buffet table. “Are you guys coming?”
“Of course,” they all said, getting up from their table, except Michelle, whom suggests, “I’ll stay here, just in case they think that this spot is not taken.”
“Why don’t I stay here, and you go get some food first,” Raymond offers, “You’re so skinny, you need to eat something. We don’t want you passing out half way through lunch you know,” he teases unwittingly.
“See what a gentleman Raymond is. You guys should learn from him,” Rain mocks Alex and Patrick, as Raymond blushes away.
“Yeah, I know,” admits Patrick, “ Can we get something to eat now.”
So they all go to the buffet, except for Raymond who stays seated in at the table.

“Can you eat all that?!” Alex asks, bewildered.
“Of course,” Rain insists, “You can never have too much you know. Just as long as you don’t waste the food.”
“I just don’t want you to be taking all the food and not leaving any for the other people to have.”
“Okay, okay, I’m done anyways. Now stop nagging,” Rain defends, “I’m going back to my seat first,” as she heads back to the table, with Alex grinning after her.

“Hey.”
“Hey, you’re done taking all the food already,” Raymond remarks, looking at her mountain-high plate, not being able to hold in his smile.
“Hey, don’t insult me,” Rain warns, “I hope you know, I got most of this food for you,” she says, as she sets the food down across from him and herself.
Raymond looks at Rain.
“Yeah, never saw the nice side to me, did you,” she teases, “Maybe it’s because you only have eyes for Michelle.”

“Wah, you’re eating two plates?!”
Michelle turns to see Patrick behind her. “Oh, I’m just getting something for Raymond too, since he has to sit at the table for us.”
“You two seem very close.”
“Hey Alex,” both Patrick and Michelle turn to see Alex.
“No, but we work in the same department, and it was considerate of him to offer to wait at our table, so I thought I might as well get him something, instead of having him to get it alone,” Michelle explains.

“No, of course not,” Raymond quickly defends himself, “Don’t mistaken us, it’s just that we work together, so I got to know her quicker.”
Mockingly, “You don’t have to be so serious you know, I was just joking,” Rain explains as she starts picking at the plate of food. “Have some, I don’t have some sort of disease you know, so don’t worry about sharing food with me.”
Raymond, relieved at her explanation, “Well, I just don’t want to have any misunderstanding between anyone, that’s all,” as he too, starts to eat from the plate.
“Besides, even if you do like Michelle, there’s nothing wrong with that, I won’t tell her,” adds Rain.
But before Raymond can once again defend himself, Alex, Patrick, and Michelle comes back to their seats.
“Oh, I guess you were too late Michelle,” Patrick comments, “Rain was one step ahead of you,” as the three of them see Raymond and Rain sharing from a plate of food.
Raymond, being in an awkward position, “Oh…”
“Of course not,” Rain cuts in, “Raymond now gets his plate of food, so I can eat this one all by myself,” she gushes, as she takes the plate to her side.
“How considerate of you,” Alex mocks.
“Of course,” Rain agrees cheerily, just as she eats a forkful of salad.
