~updated~

Hi-llo Everyone,

lol, yes, I couldn't resist, but to take a break from studying, and write a little starting prologue to my Chapter Five =P That's right, it's not short at all, this is just the first quarter of Chapter Five, so remember to comment ~_^

As Raymond and Rain both pulled away from each other, Rain notices a shadow at the corner of her eye, and turns to see Michelle standing by the front gates.

“Michelle?” she says softly, shocked at the appearance of Michelle, as she slowly rises from her chair.

As Raymond gets up to Rain, he turns in the direction that Rain was looking towards, and sees Michelle standing in the dark. Without another word, Michelle then takes off in anger.

“Michelle!” Rain calls after Michelle, then turns to Raymond, who had turned away from the direction of Michelle’s appearance. “Go after her,” she urges, “It’s so dark out, it can be dangerous.”

Raymond, not wanting to leave Rain, yet acknowledging her point, he quickly ran after Michelle, but as he starts to leave, he turns to her, “I’ll be back soon,” he promised, as he left Rain by herself and went after Michelle.

“Michelle?!” Raymond calls after Michelle, and as he finally spots her still running past a long trail of trees, he calls after her once more, “Michelle, we have to talk about this.”

With that comment, Michelle stops in her track, not yet turning around to Raymond, as she tries to contain her tears that were forming uncontrollably in her eyes.

Raymond, then slowly approaches Michelle, “Michelle, I’m sorry… I…”

“You what?!” Michelle tries to say, not being able to hold back her sobs, as she turns to Raymond. “You never loved me, you only loved Rain, and yet you gave me hope and then took it away.”

“No,” Raymond tries to explain, “I never once used you, I really thought… I really thought that this relationship could become a part of me.”

Just then, without a thought, Michelle goes up towards Raymond and hugs him ever so tightly. Raymond, surprised at Michelle’s action, did not know what to say.

“Raymond, I really love you,” Michelle confesses, hugging him tighter, “I know, I’m not the best girlfriend, but I will try my best to become the best girlfriend I can, please don’t leave me by myself.”

“Michelle…” Raymond slowly tries to break from Michelle’s embrace.

But Michelle held on, and withholds herself in his arms, “Please don’t leave me, I could never lose you, I could never live knowing that you won’t be by my side.”

Raymond, guilt-stricken, knew that Michelle had meant every word. Not knowing what to do, he comforted, “Don’t worry…”

Michelle then loosens her embrace on Raymond and turns to look up towards him. She then kissed him as he stood there. As she backs away, she looks to him and forms a smile, and then, once again, hugs him like no other.

From afar, Rain stands hidden behind the trail of trees, as she witnesses the event. Softly, she backs away from their viewing distance, and turns around, back towards the cabin. As she walks away, she starts to pick up pace each time. Not long after, Rain quickly puts her hand to her mouth to cover the sobs that she knew were well coming. Holding back the sobs:

“I’ll be back soon,” he promised.

As Rain reaches the cabin, she manages to control and hold her emotions, and as she looks up at the cabin, she stops in surprise.

“Okay, so now what happened?!” Patrick asks in confusion, as Raymond and him were on the dock of the ferry, back home. “We leave to Tin Seung with Rain, and now we’re going back home with Michelle?! Did I just miss a whole lifetime here or what?!”

“It’s a long story,” Raymond explains in a sentence, not wanting to re-go through the event again, as scenes from yesterday night sharply flashes through his mind, from the kiss he had with Rain to Michelle’s hug.

“Okay,” Patrick doesn’t force Raymond, “Well, can I at least know where Rain went? She couldn’t have gotten home, if Michelle took the last ferry to Tin Seung last night.”

“I don’t know, I’ve been trying to figure it out myself,” Raymond admits. “When I got back to the cabin, she wasn’t there anymore, and all I found was the note she left us,” he reveals, taking a note from his jacket pocket, holding the letter in his hand.

“We can forget about everything that happened tonight,” Michelle says, still withholding her hug, “We can start all over again,” she says, smiling to the thought.

Raymond then finally breaks the hug between Michelle and him, “Michelle…”

“Let’s get back to cabin,” Michelle does not let him continue, and she takes his hand and starts back to the cabin.

Raymond, not knowing how to start, only followed, and thinks of means to tell Michelle.

As Raymond and Michelle reach the cabin, to their surprise, all the lights were out, not as they expected. Raymond then quickly goes inside with Michelle behind him, and as he enters, he immediately checks the bedroom.

“Raymond, there’s a note right here,” Michelle informs Raymond, starting to pick up the note, but having Raymond swiftly pick it up before her.

“Patrick,
Something came up, and I have already left for home. See you when you return.
- Rain”

Just then, Michelle approaches the both of them, and Raymond swiftly, yet subtly puts the letter away into his jacket pocket.

“Hi,” Michelle greets, “What are you guys talking about?”

“Nothing much, just general topics,” Raymond explains. “It’s very windy out here, and you’re not feeling too well, why don’t we go back inside.”

“Sure,” Michelle smiles to Raymond’s concern.

As Raymond leads Michelle back in, Patrick leans against the guardrail, looking as they go into the ferry and silently mocks Raymond for his lack of decisiveness.

“I can’t wait to get home,” Michelle says, as Raymond seats her down by the window.

“Yeah,” Raymond says unenthusiastically.

Seeing Raymond’s attitude towards the comment, she gently touches his hand, “Raymond…” she starts, “I love you a lot. I really can’t lose you. Promise me, you won’t ever leave me alone by myself.”

“Michelle…” Raymond not knowing where to go, “I care a lot about you…but…”

“Hey, the ferry is porting you guys,” Patrick cuts in.

“I’ll take you back home,” Raymond tells Michelle, as they leave the dock, Patrick watching them from behind.

“No… that’s all right,” Michelle says hesitantly, “I can go home myself, I have some other things to do as well.”

“Okay, well, I’ll call you tonight,” Raymond suggests, “I have to talk to you sometime.”

“Okay,” Michelle says, as she turns around and leaves, and subtly turns off her cell phone.

As Raymond sees Michelle leave, he gets out his cell, and dials a number. As he stood there with no answer, he shuts it off, “Do you know Rain’s house number?” he turns to ask Patrick.

“You have got to be kidding me,” Patrick says in disbelief, “Michelle just left, and now you’re calling Rain?!”

“Never mind that, do you know Rain’s house number?” Raymond says.

“No, she is the one who usually calls us together, we only call her cell,” Patrick replies. “Maybe she’s back at the station,” he suggests.

Then, Raymond quickly went to get a cab back to the station, Patrick following right behind.

As Raymond cuts through the hall of the station, he finally reaches the Public Relations Department, but sees no sign of Rain.

“What are you doing here Raymond?” Angela shows up behind him, with a file on hand, “And I wanted to ask you, how come Rain decided to quit?”

“What?!” Raymond shocks, “Rain quit?! When was this?”

“You don’t know either?” Angela ponders, “I’m not sure, she just came in this morning and gave me a resignation letter. What is going on with you guys, how come even you didn’t know about it?”

“Angela, do you have Rain’s home address?” Raymond asks urgently.

“Yes, but you know that I can’t just give away her information to you.” Angela explains.

“I know,” Raymond understands, “But this is really important, I really have to talk to her.”

As Raymond got out of the cab, to his surprise, he stood in front of a mansion, off the city side. Then without any further thought, he rang the bell. Not long after, a maid comes to the entrance.

“Can I help you?” the maid asks.

“Yes, I was wondering if Rain Lee lives here?” Raymond asks, more to himself than to the maid.

“Mistress? Yes, but she’s not home right now, would you like me to leave a message for her?”

“No, no, that’s all right?” Raymond replies, surprised to the acknowledgement of “mistress.” As he turns away to leave, he was called from behind.

“Raymond.”

Raymond turns around to see the appearance of Rain.

“How come you never told us?” Raymond asks, as they stood alongside the deck of the ocean side.

“That I was billionaire Ko Hung’s daughter,” Rain responds, as she puts her hands on the guardrail, looking out into the ocean. “I never thought it mattered.”

“But your last name is…”

“Lee,” Rain finishes for him, “I took after my mom’s maiden name. That’s why I had to leave last night, my dad wanted me to be home earlier, because my mom’s death date was today.”

Raymond didn’t know how to react.

“How is Michelle? Is she okay,” Rain starts for him, as she looks down at the water.

“Rain… I’m sorry… just give me sometime,” Raymond starts, “I’ll explain everything to Michelle…”

“No, you don’t have to explain anything to Michelle,” Rain explains, turning to Raymond, “Because there is nothing to explain.”

“Rain, what…” Raymond in confusion.

“Whatever happened last night, was something that no one would have expected nor wanted, and if it was something that was unwanted, then let’s just put it behind us and never bring it out again.”

“No,” Raymond takes Rain by the arms, and turns her towards him, “What I said last night, I meant. Every word, every action, I knew what I was doing, and I would never take it back,” as Rain looks up at him, continues, “I love you Rain Lee, and I want you to always be by my side.”

Rain looks deeply into Raymond, “But you can’t live with guilt and responsibility.” Seeing Raymond silently admit so, “You feel obligated to Michelle, and if you had to break Michelle’s heart again, you would never be able to live with yourself nor I with myself. But if I left this relationship that I stepped between, I know that I can get back up.”

Raymond looks at Rain, who too looks into him, as he slowly drops his hand from the hold on Rain’s arm, as she slowly walks past him.

Holding onto the rail, Raymond closes his eyes in defeat.

Walking away slowly, Rain looks up towards the sky, as she strains to hold back the tears.
