Chapter 8

Your eyes captivate me.

-JAE JOONG’S POV-

I walked side by side with him in silence, occasionally shooting him glances from the corner of my eye.

“Y-Yun Ho?” I asked nervously, still uneasy about the whole first name calling thing.

“Yeah?” He asked, not even bothering to look at me.

“Are you sure you’re fine with just… Kimchi fried rice for lunch?” I played with the rims of my shirt and tugged at the loose threads.

‘Dang I have to sew it later again.’

“What do you mean?” He now focused his attention on me, waiting for an answer.

“I mean well, judging from last night’s dinner, you seem like the type of guy who only eats high class and good food and well, my food isn’t exactly that so…”

“I’ll still eat it.” He said firmly, not taking his eyes off of me. My heartbeat increased his speed yet again and I could feel my stomach twist and turn just by looking at his eyes on me.

“Oh really?” I asked, not really believing my ears.

“Yeah I guess so. I mean, it should be edible since your brothers love it so much. I just hope you don’t poison my food or anything.” He teased and ruffled up my hair.

“Don’t touch my hair!” I growled and swatted his hand away before smoothing my hair down but he beat me to it. “Sorry.” He said, almost inaudibly and slowly patted my hair so that it looked like how it did before he messed it up.

My blood froze. Again. My face flushed pink as I looked down, attempting to hide my blush from him.

“Are you okay chicken? Your face is red.” He pointed out and I slapped away his hand, “I’m fine!” I snapped and increased my walking pace.

“Whatever you say chicken.” I felt like punching him.

“Did you finished your Math homework yet? I suddenly realized that I didn’t go through it with you. Do you need any help in it?” I asked, trying to be nice despite his annoying comments.

“Yeah I did. It was quite easy actually.” I looked at him in surprise and couldn't help but smile.

“That’s good.”

Then silence took over again as we avoided each others' eyes.

“We’re here.” I said.

“Huh? Oh we are?” He asked, snapped out of his thoughts. I looked at him lamely and pointed to the dilapidated building. He scrunched his face up and stared at it. “You live… here?”

I glared at him, “Yeah I do. Got a problem with that Jung?”

“N-No not at all chicken.” He said but continued staring at it. I sighed and left him there to stare in awe while I walked up the stairs, leaving him there.

“H-Hey! Wait for me!” He yelled and ran to catch up with me. I shook my head and laughed.

”God you’re stupid.”

“Am not!”

“Am to!”

“Am not!”

“Am to!”

“Am not!"

“Am to times infinity!”

“Urgh whatever.” He frowned and crossed his arms and glared me down.

“Jun Su! Chang Min! I’m back!” I yelled and shook off my shoes before stepping into the house. I turned around.

“Jung take off your shoes before stepping into the house. I know you don’t have to in your house but this is my house and I have rules to follow okay?” I said sternly.

He looked a little intimidated as he shook his head odediently.

“Hyung you’re bac—JUNG YUN HO!” Jun Su yelled as he jabbed a finger towards him. But all Yun Ho did was smirk.

“Yo-Yo-You what are you doing here?!” He yelled and covered his face in shock and horror.

What Yun Ho did next was completely unexpected. He grabbed my waist and pulled me into a hug from behind and rested his chin on my shoulder before letting his lips softly glide across my neck.

I instantly blushed and was way too shocked to do anything like push him off. I stood there dumbfounded, thinking that it actually felt nice to be held by this man.

… I’m going crazy.

“I’m his boyfriend.” He said simply and Jun Su gawked at us. Now Chang Min had already run out and the lollipop he had in his mouth dropped to the floor.

“CHANG MIN DON’T WASTE THAT! THAT’S PEANUT FLAVOURED YOU KNOW! JAE HYUNG LIKES THAT TOO!” Jun Su screeched before turning back to look at us.

“Are you serious?”

“No!”

“Yes!”

You can guess who said no and who said yes.

“Jung Yun Ho! Let go of me!” I hised throgh gritted teeth and I grabbed hold of his hands and tried to pry them off. He sighed and gave in.

“Okay okay whatever you say.”

I scoffed, “If only! Okay I’ll start cooking now. Jun Su and Chang Min you can watch some tv or something. Yun Ho… not messing up the house would be nice.” I suggested and skipped happily towards the kitchen.

I quickly fried the rice and dumped in the pork before I started humming a little tune to myself, the tune my mother always sang to me before she passed away.

“That’s a nice song you’re humming.” The voice came from directly behind me and I swirled around to see who it was.

Our faces were terribly close to each other’s. Me and Yun Ho’s that is. If any of us were to move or shift a centimetre forward, our lips would touch. My eyes travelled from his eyes down to his lips, resisting the urge to kiss him senseless right there and then.

… Holy shit.

I reached my hands out and pushed him away, face completely red in embarrassment.

“Wh-What do you want?” I stammered, not breaing to look into his eyes any longer. It wasn’t good for my heart.

“Nothing! I just wanted to see you cook!” He protested as he held his hands up in the air. I looked at him, not really believeing what he just said but let it go.

Suddenly, I felt a pair of strong arms encircle my waist. The same movement as before.

“Yah! Yun Ho let go!” I hissed and used my elbow to jab him.

“It’s damn fun to annoy you.” He commented and let go, a devious grin on his face. I muttered incoherent curses for him under my breath and scopped the rice onto a huge plate and brought it out.

“Lunch is served!” I yelled and the two immediately stood right up and ran to the table.

“Yay finally! I’m starving!” Chang Min exclamed and sat down flat on the chair.

“Chang Min you’re always hungry.” I pointed out and spooned approximately half the plate of rice onto his plate. Believe me. He can eat much, much more.

He smiled sheepishly at me and grabbed the plate before scooping an entire mouthful into his mouth. Jun Su grimanced at this.

They might be brothers, but they have completely different eating habits.

Jun Su picked up his spoon and scooped half a spoonful into his mouth, chewing slowly and softly, completely unlike Chang Min who was trying to finish the entire plate in one mouthful.

“How much do you want Yun Ho?” I asked, looking at his uneasy face. He remained quiet and I sighed before scooping one spoonful first.

“Eat this first. If you like it, I’ll give you some more.” He nodded his head and put a small bit into his mouth, chewing it slowly.

“Wwwweeeellllll?” I looked at him, eager to know his views on it. He ate another mouthful and grinned at me, “It’s good!” A breathed out a sigh of relief and smiled at him before turning to walk back to the kitchen.

“Wait!” He yelled and grabbed onto my hand again. Another thump.

“Y-Yes?” I stuttered, surprised by the sudden movement.

“Where are you going?” He asked, like a child curious about why his mother always left him in school alone.

“I’m going to clean up the kitchen. Why?” I cocked my head to one side.

He lowered his head and kept quiet for awhile before he said, “Eat first. I’ll help you clean up later.”

I looked at Chang Min and Jun Su. Chang Min was grinning like crazy and nodding his head while Jun Su just glared at Yun Ho, wishing him death. I chuckled to myself and pulled out the last chair from the four-seater table and took some rice for myself.

“Okay.” I smiled to myself.

Jun Su and Chang Min soon finished eating and that was when I realized, me and Yun Ho were eating terribly slowly.

"Hyung why are you eating so slowly today?” Jun Su asked me, indirectly insulting Yun Ho. I shot him a quick glance before looking to the side, not knowing the answer myself. I shrugged my shoulders and he rolled his eyes.

“Okay we’re going back to our rooms to finish up our homework. Bye Yun Ho Hyung! Bye Jae Hyung!” Chang Min yelled and dragged Jun Su away, who was visibly displeased. He was very protective of me when it came to Yun Ho and I laughed.

“Why are you laughing?” Yun Ho looked at me curiously and I shook my head, “Jun Su can be so overly protective at times.” He stoned for awhile before he understood what I meant.

I picked up the plates and looked at him, who was just standing there watching me do all the work. “Don’t just stand there! Help me get the spoons and the cups!” I ordered and he nodded his head slowly and did as he was told. I walkde to the kitchen and dumped the things inside and he followed suit.

“You’re not used to things like this are you?” He immediately mouthed a no.

I filled a basin with water and dunked the things inside.

“Watch me.” And proceeded to do what I did so well, cleaning.

He stared at me in awe and clapped his hands, “Wow.” I rolled my eyes, “This is nothing Jung. You’re just not used to it, that’s all.” I said and hurriedly dried up the objects and placed them in the rack above my head.

“You’d make the perfect wife.” He commented and my blood froze before I turned to look straight into his eyes, “What?”

“I said you’d make the perfect wife!” He repeated his sentence and hit me on the head, "Are you deaf or something?” I moved back a little and shook my head, “Whatever!”

He grabbed one of the plates out of my hands and took a random piece of cloth from the table and began wiping the plate carelessly.

“I can do it too okay. Don’t look down on— Ahh!” I looekd towards his direction and saw the plate falling helplessly fom his hands.

“Jung!” I yelled and ran forward, instinctively and pushed him away from the plate shattering onto the gound.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Are you bleeding?” A stream of questions came out from my mouth and I doubt he even understood what I just said.

“I-I’m fine…” He croaked out and bent down to pick up the shattered pieces.

“Ouch!” He hissed as he accidentally cut his finger on a shard of porcelain.

“Oh gosh Jung! Are you okay?” I grabbed his hand and inspected his finger, observing the damage made to his smooth finger. “You’re bleeding.” I stated and he just nodded. “I just have to lick it and it’d be fine. Chillax chicken.”

“That’s true.” I said softly and subconsciously placed his figner into my mouth and stared sucking on it.

“Chi-Chi-Jae Joong?” He looked at me, shocked and his face was completely, utterly red.

I widened my eyes and pulled his finger out my mouth immediately. It woke me out of my thoughts.

“Jae Joong…” He said softly and I couldn’t help but get drawn to him by those brown eyes of his. What is he doing to me? I didn’t know. I didn’t even seem to mind that our faces were approximately a centimetre apart.

… Wait. WHAT?!
