After Meina had gone home with the rest of them, Chi Lik finally got a chance to get into Tin Ling’s ICU ward. He held Ling’s hand and grabs it tightly. Someone was behind him.
LIK: (turns) Who’s that? (sees her) Ko Meina? Why are you still here?
MEINA: I am here to tell you something…
LIK: Tell me what? To let Yip Wing Tim go? Not so easy!
MEINA: I just want to explain the whole misunderstanding to you!
LIK: What misunderstanding?
MEINA: The one you had with Tim!
LIK: That wasn’t a misunderstanding!
MEINA: It is!
LIK: He killed my Gor!
MEINA: It wasn’t him!
LIK: Then who?
MEINA: It was an accident, get it?
LIK: Impossible! If he hadn’t send men to take my Gor’s life, he wouldn’t have lose his footing and fell to his death!
MEINA: Tim is innocent! He didn’t send anybody to take your Gor’s life!
LIK: What proof do you have?
MEINA: Then what proof do you have to say that Tim hired men to kill your Gor?
LIK: Because my Gor told me that! Before his death, he told me personally… that one day if he were to die of unnatural reasons, it will be because of Yip Wing Tim wanting his life!
MEINA: That are all misunderstandings! Tim is trying to save him, but things just don’t happened the way he wanted…
LIK: Nonsense! You’re defending him because you love him! But loving a person does not warrant his innocence!
MEINA: (pauses) Ah Ling knows the truth, if you don’t believe me, you can get it from her yourself!
LIK: Are you laughing at me?!
MEINA: Whatever it is, Ah Ling will wake up!
With that, she stormed out of the room.
LIK: (to Ling) Ah Ling, tell me… is what she said the truth? Yip Wing Tim did not kill my Gor? Then who did? (recalls) Was it Ma Chi Keung? I heard him saying something about him being at fault and him causing you to be knocked down by the car… what happened exactly? Was it him? (shakes her) Tell me Ling! Tell me!
The sound coming from the monitor gets faster…
LIK: (calling) Doctor! Doctor!

[Lik Tin Century – the next day – late June 1999]
Chi Keung was having a discussion with Tim in the latter’s office. Tim observes Chi Keung’s moody look…
TIM: Keung, who was that on the phone? You look so dispirited!
KEUNG: No, it’s nothing important…
TIM: I almost thought it’s news from the hospital.
KEUNG: Nope, I already told the nurse to inform me at once if there’s anything…
TIM: Do you need to go take a look again? Or go home and have a rest? You don’t look very good, you know…
KEUNG: It’s ok, I won’t neglect work!
TIM: Not that there are many things here for you to do, Keung!
KEUNG: I know, but I’m really alright.
JACK: (knocking and coming in) Mr. Yip, trouble!
TIM: What’s the matter?
JACK: Someone had been snatching up our company shares since morning! I observed it for an hour and found that something is really wrong!
TIM: What?! (went to his pc) The price is skyrocketing!
KEUNG: (to Jack) Have you checked who’s the other party?
JACK: I’ve been trying to trace it, but I'm quite unsure…
TIM: Which means you have a name in mind…
JACK: Erm… it may be…
TIM: May be who?
JACK: Ming Electric… but I’m really not sure…
KEUNG: Ming Electric? Why would Yip Wing Chun bring himself against you?
TIM: I don't know…
KEUNG: (to Jack) Go confirm it first! We’ll need to make sure if it’s really Ming Electric!
JACK: Yes, Mr. Ma! (exits)
KEUNG: What do you plan to do now, Tim?
TIM: Check the prices for Ming Electric’s share for me now!
KEUNG: You want to do the same thing?
TIM: No, I have other things in mind…
KEUNG: Ok, I’ll go check for you now!

[some time later…]
KEUNG: (runs into Tim’s office) Tim, I need to go now!
TIM: What’s wrong? We just confirmed Ming Electric is playing tricks behind the scene…
KEUNG: (worried) Ling had woke up!
TIM: What?
KEUNG: I said Ling had woke up, Meina just informed me!
TIM: Meina?
KEUNG: Yup, because she’s there too!
TIM: I’ll go with you then!
KEUNG: No, I think you better stay to handle Ming Electric. Look at the big picture, Tim!
TIM: (sighs) Okay then, but call me if you need any help!
KEUNG: Okay!

[Hospital]
Chi Keung rushes into the lobby and went straight up to Tin Ling’s ward. He was surprised to see Meina arguing with a nurse. He approaches them.
KEUNG: What happened, Meina? Why are you quarrelling?
MEINA: (frustrated) Ah Ling is missing!
KEUNG: (shocked) Missing?! (looks at both Meina and the nurse) How come?
MEINA: Ah Ling just woke up half an hour earlier when visited her, then I went to the washroom, when I was back… then (pointing to the nurse) she said Ling is missing!
NURSE: (defending herself) Miss, I’m not lying!
MEINA: I didn’t say you were lying, but how couldn’t you take care of a patient!
KEUNG: Calm down! What’s going on? What happened before she went missing?
MEINA: She woke up…
KEUNG: (following) Uh huh…
MEINA: And I called for the doctor… then he did a check up on Ling and then I went to the washroom… that leaves only the doctor and this nurse in the room… then I came back and she said Ah Ling was gone!
NURSE: Yes, the doctor did the check-up, and after that we went out and leave the patient to rest!
MEINA: How could she get missing in such a short period?
KEUNG: What did the doctor say?
NURSE: The patient seems to have some difficulty in talking, and Dr. Cheng says she needs to be put under observation!
KEUNG: Then did you see any strangers going into her room or loitering around?
NURSE: No, I didn’t.
MEINA: (thinking) Keung… I think I may know who she’s gone with…
KEUNG: (surprised) Who?
MEINA: It may be him… Cheung Chi Lik!
KEUNG: Cheung Chi Lik? How did you know?
MEINA: Erm… (guiltily) I let him in to see Ah Ling after you all were gone…
KEUNG: You… (exasperated) How could you! Knowing he’s a baddie!
MEINA: I’m sorry Keung… sorry… why not we try to look for him now?

PS: I dunno what to say but suddenly I thought I lost focus and looked at my title name again, and realized I didn't... just hope dat I would go to my final destination soon! :p
Anyway, I know Helen had been missing for quite many chaps, but... I have my reasons for keeping Helen outta the picture all this while! Dear sansan, read on and u'll know!
