[Ming Tai – shareholder’s meeting]
The meeting was almost coming to an end, when Howard's secretary came in with an urgent notice. Howard’s expression turned to that of a solemn one upon reading what was on the small note. Howard then shoved his hand, signaling his secretary to sit down. Donald and Joe exchanged brief looks, each have their own set of thinking on their minds.
HOWARD: (cleared his throat) Everybody! If there’s nothing else on the agenda, I shall dismiss the meeting today!
Mr. KWAN: (sits up) Howard, I have something which I would like to ask you, on behalf of my fellow shareholders!
HOWARD: (looks at him) What is it?
Mr. KWAN: We’ve just got news from an anonymous person, that the price of Ming Electric’s shares has experienced a drastic drop since this morning. I’m afraid this would affect Ming Tai…
HOWARD: (trying to assure the people) Don’t worry, Ming Electric is a subsidiary company of Ming Tai, and not the other way round!
MR. TONG: Things can’t be said like that, Howard! You must put yourself into our shoes and think of our interests!
MRS. CHENG: Yeah, will Ming Tai transfer some of the funds over to tide Ming Electric over the crisis?
Mr. KWAN: (interrupts) In that way, it will affect us small shareholders…
HOWARD: Listen to me…
MRS. CHENG: Howard, we know that money may be nothing to you, but we’re really worried we’ll be affected…
HOWARD: (stood up) Everybody! (everyone keeps quiet) I also just received this piece of news only now… so, for now… I hope you can give me some time to find out more about this… and I will give you a satisfactory explanation then!
Mr. KWAN: (probing) When will it be?
HOWARD: Give me 2 days! I’ll get to the bottom of this and give you an answer!
The shareholders kept quiet and nodded their heads in satisfaction. Then they dismissed themselves and left the conference room.
HOWARD: (to his sons) Come to my office, both of you!

[Howard’s office]
HOWARD: Any of you… (pointing at Donald and Joe) Tell me what’s going on? Donald, I put you in charge of Ming Electric and it became like this?! And Joe, I told you to assist your brother!
DONALD: Daddy, I think someone is plotting on us…
JOE: Daddy, Uncle Kwan said they got the news from an anonymous person, so it might really be someone going against us purposely!
HOWARD: (looks at Donald) Who have you been offending outside, Donald?
DONALD: (defending himself) Why me, Daddy? It might well be… be… Joe!
JOE: (exclaimed) Dai Gor, I have nothing to do with this, I swear!
HOWARD: (unhappy) Stop accusing your brother of something he didn’t commit!
JOE: Does that mean I am guilty?
HOWARD: That… you know it best yourself!
DONALD: Daddy, rest assure that I would check it out and give you a reply as soon as possible! (exits)
JOE: Daddy, should I give Dai Gor a hand?
HOWARD: Joe, your Dai Gor would be able to handle it well!
JOE: (thinking) Okay then. If there’s isn’t anything else, I’ll go do my work now.
HOWARD: (nods his head) Go ahead!

[Golden Horse Country Club]
Donald took off his golf cap and casts aside his club impatiently. Chi Lik passes him a bottle of cold water.
LIK: Calm down, Master Chun! I’ll have my own way to deal with him!
DONALD: Calm down? You want me to calm down? Now he’s targeting our Ming electric, how can I account to Daddy if anything happens?
LIK: Be assured I won’t let that happen. I think we should continue sweeping Lik Tin’s shares…
Donald turns and eyes him doubtingly, Chi Lik looks into his eyes without flickering…
DONALD: Now I wonder whether you’re trying to do me in!
LIK: Master Chun, I don’t get it why you should suspect me!
DONALD: I have many reasons to!
LIK: Perhaps you have no deep grudges against Yip Wing Tim, but bear in mind he is my greatest enemy, and that fact shall never change!
DONALD: I don’t suspect you hating him, but your method… at this rate, I’ll be getting Lik Tin making a loss…
LIK: He spreads those rumors around just to cause the share prices to drop… once we cleared them up everything will be okay!
DONALD: Clear them all? Tell me how should go and do about it?
LIK: The important thing now is to let the public regain confidence in Ming Electric!
DONALD: Are you sure you can handle these?
LIK: (confidently) Yes! But give me some time…
DONALD: I can’t afford that much of time!
LIK: Meanwhile, I’ll do something to delay the matter from worsening…
DONALD: I would like to discuss some more details with you…
LIK: I’m sorry, Master Chun. I have an important matter to attend to now. Can you excuse me?
DONALD: What matter is that?
LIK: My girlfriend is missing, I need to go and look for her…
DONALD: (hesitating) Only if you can settle our matter in time!
LIK: You can count on me! Bye Master Chun! (rushes off)

Tin Ling struggles her way out of the dark and smelly back lane. She opens her eyes carefully and sweeps her messy hair aside. All the faces she was coming across were all unfamiliar ones. She tried to search for him amidst the crowd.
The faces were still stranger-like, and getting more and more unclear. Two men in casual clothes approach her, but she pushes them away…
MAN: Hey miss, where are you going? How about me helping you…
LING: (having difficulty in her speech) Go… go… go…. away… go…
MAN 2: (laughs) This little idiot seems interesting! Let’s bring her back with us!
MAN: Yeah! (dragging Tin Ling with him) Come, let’s go!
MAN 2: (impatient) Knock her out man! She’s irritating!
The other man lands a heavy strike down her neck and knocked her out instantly…
