“SM Entertainment is organizing auditions in this period so anyone who has a great voice and it’s talented can join and who knows? Maybe they will have a chance and become superstars!”
Soo Ah turned off the TV and started listening music at her mp3 player, trying to forget what she just heard. If she would go to the auditions, she could be disappointed… if she wouldn’t go, she would regret it… what to do? She started singing and so she calmed down a little; her mom walked in the room, smiling.
-Soo Ah!!! Stop singing; I’ll become deaf because of you.
-Mom…
-I heard about the auditions…
-Yeah, me too…
-And? Don’t you want to go?
-What for? So they can reject me?
-Soo Ah, they won’t reject you. If I told you until now that you have a terrible voice, it was only to give you an impulse.
-Really?
-Would I ever lie to you? You got your voice and your talent from your father, so I say you shouldn’t waste it.
-But I…
-I’ll come with you!

-There isn’t any shame to come with your mom at the auditions, ok? It’s ok if we’ll go tomorrow?

The next day, Soo Ah came at the auditions and saw over 1000 girls there. She sighed but she heard her name so she walked towards the “terror room”. She saw a table where were 4 people: one of them was the choreographer, known for the awesome choreographies he did, the other one was a manager, one of the ladies was the canto teacher and the other one was the wife of the president from SM Entertainment.
-Hello, my name is Park Soo Ah.
-Hello, said the canto teacher.
-Uh… I…
-You’re nervous, we understand. How old are you? The choreographer asked.
-I’m 16… my birthday was a week ago.
-Oh, happy birthday, said the manager. Now, can you sing something for us?
-Yes… uh…
She started to sing and, although at the beginning her voice trembled, when she started to get used with it, she sang the best way she could. The jury took some notes and then she asked her to dance. Finally, the audition was over; she got out of there, going straight to her mom, telling her everything went ok but that she didn’t want to labor under an illusion.

After one week, Soo Ah was disappointed because it was the day when the results from the auditions should be announced, but it was already 4 pm and she didn’t receive any phone call so she thought she didn’t pass it. She decided to go and eat something so she went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator. But before she can take something to eat from there, the phone rang.
-Hello?
-Park Soo Ah?
-Yes…
-We are from the SM Entertainment! We just called you to tell you that you passed the auditions and that we’re waiting for you next week at the SM building.
-Re-really?
-Yes! I am Choi Jung-ah, your manager; actually, your band’s manager.
-I’m going to be in a band?
-Yes! There are 4 other girls and we want you to form a band… a band which will get to DBSK’s level.
Soo Ah didn’t know what to say. Finally, her dream will become reality and maybe she will also meet her favorite band: DBSK.
-Hello? Soo Ah, are you still there?
-Uh, yeah, sorry! Ok, I’ll be there next Monday.
-Yes, at 7 am! Oh, another thing: pack your bags because you won’t live with your parents anymore.
-What?
-Yes… that’s all I wanted to say! See you on Monday then!
-Ok… Good bye!
She put the phone down and her tears came out. It was tears of joy but sadness too, because she didn’t want to leave her parent’s house. She gave the news to her family,her friends and her parents were a little sad but they knew she could make it.
