Chapter 2
The other members
On 10th July, at 7 am in the morning, Soo Ah entered the building and went straight to the receptionist.
-Hello, I’m here to see mister Choi Jung-ah!
-What’s your name, please?
-Park Soo Ah.
-Can you show me an ID?
She took her wallet out and showed her the ID. The skeptic receptionist told her at what floor she needed to go. She took the elevator and found the room, but she stayed out a little bit to admire the building. It was huge and well decorated. She couldn’t take her eyes off the luxury, though she said that if she’ll become a star she won’t forget from where she started. She wanted to turn so that she can enter the room, but she hit someone.
-Ouch, sorry!!
-It’s ok… ouch...
Soo Ah was shocked, forgetting about the pain, the hit and everything else. In her front, was a man… one of those 5… Micky Yoochun.
-Are you ok? He asked.
-Yeah…
-Why are you staying outside? You’re the 5th girl, right?
-Uh, yeah, depends on what you mean.
-Manager Choi is inside, waiting for you. You’re late 2 minutes.
He winked at her and then he headed to the bathroom, while Soo Ah remained silent and couldn’t move anymore. But she took a deep breath and entered the room, where she saw 4 girls drooling and staring at another couch. When she took a better look, she saw the other members from DBSK talking to the manager. And then she saw him… the one she liked… she was hypnotized and she couldn’t say anything else.
-Oh, Soo Ah, welcome! Come on in!
-Yes…
-Here… these are your band mates. Introduce yourself.
-Hello, I’m Yuri!
-Hey, I’m Yoo Mi. Wait… move a little… that’s right!
-I’m Eun Hi, nice to meet you!
-And I’m Yeo Jin. What’s your name?
-I’m Soo Ah.
-Nice to meet you… said Yoo Mi.
-Yeah…
-Girls, we should wait for Yoochun to come and then we’ll start talking about some stuff. After that, we’ll go to your new apartment.
Yoochun entered the room in that moment and looked towards the girls who looked like they weren’t breathing anymore. They were starring, but Eun Hi reacted sooner and said they need to focus on the band.
-Ok… so, the president of SM Entertainment wants you to become as good as DBSK is.
-Whoa… that’s kind of impossible, isn’t it? Eun Hi said.
-Sort of… not if you will be the boys students.
-What’s that suppose to mean? Yeo Jin asked.
-That means that from now on, we will take care of you and whatever we do, you will do too, said Yunho. Of course, you will have your own canto teacher and your own choreographer, just that the rest of the time you have to stay with us, to get used with this hectic life and see how it is.
-But… why you? Why can’t we be training with the teachers? Soo Ah asked.
-First of all, because the boss said so. And second, because you’re girls and we would like to have a “DBSK feminine” band, said Yoochun.
-To continue your work after you won’t be anymore? Yuri asked with a sarcastic tone.
-Sort of, said Yunho, leaving Yuri with the jaw hanging. The thing is we have a dead line which is September 1st 2008. We have 2 years to transform you into the best singers from Korea.
-But… won’t we disturb you? Eun Hi asked.
-Hm, not really, unless you stay in our way when we’re in a hurry. If you stay away then and we have free way to do our business, it’s ok, said Junsu.
-Ok. Then if we finished talking, let’s go home! Guys, can you take their luggage, please?
-Yes, of course, said Changmin.
-They’re coming with us? Soo Ah asked.
-Of course, especially when we’re staying next to your apartment, said JaeJoong.
The girls didn’t know what to say. They expected to stay somewhere close to them, but not in the same block of flats and especially in the apartment next door. They got out from the building, getting in the girl’s mini van, which they will use from now on all the time.

They got in the front of the block of flats; when they got out from the van, they were amazed.
-I knew you were living somewhere else, Yoo Mi said.
-Yeah… lived, said Changmin. This is the newest block of flats built and some of the apartments can get to 7 rooms. That’s because there are only 2 apartments on one floor.
-Yeah, besides there are only 7 floors and it’s full of luxury as you can see, said JJ.
-Whoa, said Soo Ah. Yay~~ that means I will get to have my own room, right?
-Yes, said Yoochun. Plus, the whole terrace from the top of the building is ours.
-What do you mean? Yuri asked.
-Means that we live at the 7th floor and the terrace is decorated specially for us, said Yunho. Come, let’s get up, we still need to go shopping.
-Whoaaa~~~~ shopping?? Yoo Mi asked.
-Yes, well, we need to take new clothes to you and some other stuff for the apartment. We decorated as we could but you’re girls and you know how to make your rooms look better, said Junsu.
Five of them entered to the first elevator, the other five to the second one and until they got to the 7th floor, they were cramped there. The boys opened the door for them and as they were getting in, they were dumbfounded. It was huge, had a bunch of free space and 7 rooms. Eun Hi went straight to the balcony to watch the view, making big eyes when she saw how beautiful it is, Soo Ah went to one of the room, started to jump on the bed, saying that that’s her room, while Yoo Mi went to the couch, sat on it and looked a little strange at the huge plasma TV that was in front of her. Yeo Jin entered the kitchen, wanting to see if she has everything so she can start cooking, while Yuri started to walk around the apartment, inspecting the rooms.
-Ok, now we have to go to our apartment to sleep a little. We got back to Korea 2 hours ago so we want to rest a little. At least for 3 hours, said Yunho.
-You were in Japan? Yeo Jin asked.
-Yeah, got back today. After a couple of hours when we’ll wake up, we’ll go shopping, ok? Yoochun said.
-Yup! Until then we will unpack our bags and we’ll start getting used with the apartment, said Soo Ah.
-Ok, see you later then!
The boys went to their house, while the girls looked at each other and jumped of happiness. Soo Ah went to unpack her bag, while Yeo Jin started to cook.
-Whoa, this is 3 times bigger than my parent’s apartment, said Yoo Mi.
-Yes, the truth is we’re lucky to stay here. But if we don’t keep to the 2 years dead line assessed by SM, we will be in trouble, said Eun Hi.
-Yeah, sure. What problems can we have? That’s it, if it can’t be then it can’t be, said Yuri.
-Oh, no. It doesn’t work this way for them. If we will trespass against this dead line, we will be forced to pay everything they invested in us until now, Eun Hi replied.
-But that’s not fear! I mean what? Do we ask for these investments? Yoo Mi asked.
-I know, but this is reality. Anyway, I’m sure we’re going to make it, we just need to work as a team, said Eun Hi.
But the others didn’t seem convinced like her and Yeo Jin noticed that. She was afraid that their different personalities will be a problem and argues will begin to start.

After an hour, they sat at the table to eat, starting to talk also about the band.
-First of all, we need a leader, Yuri said.
-Ok, who’s the oldest? Soo Ah asked.
-No, it won’t work like this, Yuri replied. Who’s the most responsible here?
-Well, I think I am, said Eun Hi, but I don’t think I’ll be able to keep you down so I don’t want to be the leader.
-Then I’ll be the leader, said Yeo Jin. But this means you have to listen to me and to always consider my opinion, ok?
The girls remained silenced just like they would realize only now that this is not a game. Soo Ah started to laugh, while Yoo Mi elbowed her to stop it.
-Whatever, said Yeo Jin.
-I’m sorry… should we find a name for the band now?
They tried a lot of names and none was likeable. It was either too long, either too short; finally, Eun Hi, who didn’t tell anything until now, came with a good idea.
-Well… because we are girls with different personalities, I was thinking that the name’s band should be “SHE”.
-What’s that coming from? Yoo Mi asked.
-From “SHE has everything” because we have it all… at least that’s what I say.
-Well, I am the childish one, said Soo Ah.
-You can’t stay like this forever, replied Yeo Jin.
-But I am still young, I’m only 16… shouldn’t I enjoy it?
-Yes… well, I guess I am the normal one.
-Exactly! So it’s like this: Soo Ah is the childish one so we can call her “the baby one”, said Eun Hi.
Hearing this, Soo Ah started to smile and to sing something.
-Then its Yeo Jin, who’s “the normal one”, Yoo Mi is seductive so she’s “the sexy one”, I’m sweet and funny so I’ll be “the sweet one” and Yuri is the friendly, yet sarcastic and ironic so she’ll be “the funny one”, said again Eun Hi. It’s simple, see? Our band has it all.
-I don’t know why you don’t want to be the leader, if you like to organize all, said Yeo Jin.
-Why are you like this? I’m part of this band, so I just said my opinion. It’s that a problem? Eun Hi asked.
Yeo Jin stood up from the table and went to the kitchen where she started to wash the dishes, while the girls were still at the table, giving up on the discussion.
