Chapter 5
Problems in paradise
Two weeks passed by since the girls were living together and they already started the canto lessons. Every day they were going there for 4 or 5 hours and practiced. Each one already knew what was her position in the group, what tonality everyone has, how high or low can everyone’s voice get to. The girls got to know each other pretty well, but that wasn’t enough. They were arguing every day aside Soo Ah and Yoo Mi who weren’t that opened in front of the other girls. They could laugh and joke together, but when it was about family problems they were keeping everything for themselves. One night, the girls were standing at the table, talking, while Soo Ah and Yoo Mi were fooling around again. The phone rang and Eun Hi answered.
-Hello? Who? Oh, good evening! Yes, just a second… Soo Ah, you’re parents at the phone!
-Mom!! Hey, mom, how are you? Yes, what’s the problem? Mom, are you crying? Just… calm down, ok? Yes, yes, I will try…
She let the phone down, staring at an empty spot, not knowing what to say and she got out of the apartment just when Yeo Jin asked her what happened. Yoo Mi went after her but Soo Ah kept her head down, told her to leave her alone and Yoo Mi did what she said. She went back to the apartment, shaking her head and the others started to worry. The boys just got home when they saw her standing on the stairs but nobody saw the she was crying. Only JaeJoong noticed and he wanted to go to her, but he said to himself that maybe she’ll get mad. They got into the apartment, when Yoochun noticed also that she was crying. He left his bags and took his shoes off.
-Does anybody know what happened to Soo Ah?
-No, said Junsu.
-She’s crying… JaeJoong replied.
-Yeah, I saw that…
-She’s crying?? Yunho asked.
-Yes… I’ll go and see what happened, Yoochun said.
He went straight to her, but he didn’t say anything, he just sit next to her. Soo Ah was trying to hide her face and stop crying and she turned the back at him.
-There’s no need to hide, I already saw that you were crying, he said.
-Oppa, please… leave me alone…
-At least tell me what happened… I mean, maybe I can help you.
-No… you can’t help me. And anyway you can’t help two strangers, right?
-What do you mean?
-My parents… lost their apartment… they don’t have where to stay.
-You know… you probably heard already… we had problems too; my mom was struggling to make everything better for us, but it was too hard. I have now the possibility to help her and if it’s necessary I’ll help your parents too. I know what you’re going through; especially you’re only 16… Stop crying, silly, everything will be fine!
Yoochun hugged her and started to sing something but his voice wasn’t in a good shape and Soo Ah started to laugh.
-Oppa, you sound bad tonight!
-Eh, I have my bad times too! I ate an ice-cream that’s why. Soo Ah, don’t worry; call your mom and tell her we’re coming for them.
-But… where will they stay?
-My mom’s house is huge! She and my brother are feeling a little lonely there, you know?
-Oh, no! Oppa, this is too much, I… I can’t!
-Would you give me a break? I know what I’m doing! Now, go and get dressed!
Yoochun got up from the stairs and winked at her. He was heading towards his apartment when Soo Ah called him.
-Oppa!
-Yes?
-You know… before I met you, I was a fan of yours… and because I always wanted a brother and from what I knew about you, I started to consider you as my brother…
-Well, that’s what I am, right? Your big brother!
-Hahaha, yeah right… funny!
-Soo Ah, I mean it! From now on, I want you to see me as your brother, ok?
-Ok! I’ll go to change my clothes.
She entered the apartment and the girls were watching her to see what she’s doing. Soo Ah went straight to her room, changed her clothes, then she went to the kitchen to drink some water. Before she got out from the apartment again, she put on the shoes and started to look for her keys.
-Are you going out? Yeo Jin asked.
-Yes, I’m going with Yoochun-ah somewhere!
Yoo Mi exchanged looks with Yeo Jin and Eun Hi, then she looked a little weird at Soo Ah, who found her keys and was ready to go.
-See you guys later! Bye-bye!
-Is she hitting on him already or it’s just me? Yuri asked.
Yeo Jin gave her a death glare while she went back to the kitchen to cook. Soo Ah met Yoochun in the parking and they got in the car immediately. They were heading to her parent’s apartment, hoping that they didn’t leave yet. They got there quickly and Soo Ah took the elevator to get to the 3rd floor. She saw her parents standing in front of the door, looking desperate and sad, but they calmed down when they saw their daughter. She hugged them, after that he mom turned around towards the person near Soo Ah.
-He’s from DBSK, right?
-Yes, mom… Chunnie, my brother…
-Aaaa, so he’s the one you said you want him as your brother. Nice to meet you!
-Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Park.
-Mrs.? Oh, no! You can call me anyway else, but not Mrs.
-Mom, Yoochun is going to help us just this time. You will be staying at his mom’s house until we will be able to buy another apartment.
-No! Thank you; you’re really kind, but no…
-Please, let me help you. I know what you’re going through right now, my family had a lot of problems too, but now the problems are over. At least that’s what I can do as a “brother” and a “child”, Yoochun said.
-Mom, please, I didn’t want to accept either at the beginning, but we don’t have other choice. Besides, I prefer knowing you at Yoochun’s house than wondering somewhere else.
-Fine… but we won’t be staying long; I don’t want to disturb your mother.
-Don’t worry, you won’t! My mom is gone all day long with my brother so when you’ll come from work the house will be all yours.
Her mom looked at Soo Ah, smiling and then she hugged Yoochun. All the way to his mother’s house, she kept thanking him. When they got there, Yoochun started talking to his mom and she accepted immediately because she knew what they were going through. Awful things happened to her family too. They let them to get used with the house, while Yoochun and Soo Ah were heading back at the apartment. On the way there, she was sad and worried and Chun noticed that. He calmed her down the best way he could and before they entered in their apartment, Soo Ah wanted to say something to him.
-Yes, tell me!
-I just wanted to thank you one more time… and please don’t tell anyone… I don’t want them to know.
-But the guys are worried for you and I bet the girls are too…
-Yes, but I don’t want anybody to know about this. Please…
-Ok, ok, I won’t tell them! Good night, my lovely sister! Take care and see you tomorrow.
-Yes, bro! Good night.
They both got in and the guys started to ask what happened to Soo Ah. The girls didn’t ask her anything and she was happy with that.
