"Hello? Really?! OMG! Ayumi, I'm so happy for you!" I squealed into the phone.
Ayumi had just called me, saying that she and Jae Joong got together just now. They were singing at KTV and she accidentally blurted out her feelings! Ha! Sometimes, having a big mouth can be a wonderful thing.
"Yeah, I know! Where are you now?"
"I'm with Kibum." I stole a look at Kibum, who was sitting across from me, silently sipping his root beer float.
"Ooohh... Well, since you're on a hot date, I better leave you be. See ya at school tomorrow! Bye!" Ayumi bid her farewell, then hung up.
Closing my phone, I put it back in the pocket of my Coach purse. Sipping my own taro pearl tea, I turned back to Kibum, who looked zoned out, staring at the designs of the table. "It was Ayumi," I said simply.
"What'd she say?"
"Jae Joong and Ayumi, they got together," I exclaimed, barely containing my excitement.
"Really? They do seem pretty close..." Kibum observed.
"Is that all you have to say? Ayumi's liked Jae for three months now! She finally got him, and that's all you say? No congratulations?" I was stunned at Kibum's down attitude.
"Oh, fine... Yippee, yahoo, Jae and Ayumi are married!" Kibum said sarcastically.
"Ok, I'm fed up. What's wrong now? You took my advice and apologized to your dad, and that went well, at least, that's what you said. I also got to understand you more and you're not alone like before." I eliminated two unlikely possibilities.
"Jae and Ayumi are together... I think that's awesome and all, but I'm still alone, unattached... It seems as if everyone is getting paired up," Kibum blurted out.
"Ah? So, that's it? Well... Christmas is coming soon, so of course people would love to have someone to spend it with!" I laughed like it was so obvious.
"I guess that's true. But I was thinking, that maybe if we could... I mean, that-that.... well..." Kibum suddenly turned red as he twiddled his thumbs and bit his lip.
"You don't have to say it out. It's tiring just hearing you talk like that. I know what you're going to say anyways. Ah... We've known each other for only a few days. How did we get so close?" I wondered aloud.
"You're avoiding the question."
"My answer? Yes, of course I'll spend Christmas with you," I agreed, after pretending to think about it for a while.
"Really? B-But... Your mom..."
"Oh, don't worry about her. She probably wouldn't mind anyway...."
::Ayumi's POV::
"Ahhh," I directed Jae Joong to open his mouth as I spooned a piece of cake into it. "Good... Your house is so nice..."
"Mm... This strawberry cake is moist. I feel like I'm in Heaven!" Jae relaxed against a red sofa as I snuggled closer to him.
Sighing with happiness, I looked around, letting the precious scenery of Jae Joong's house sink in. His family was wealthy, for his mom works as a successful magazine founder and his dad produces compositions for successful artists. All the money definitely explains the lush carpeting in the rooms and smooth, hardwood floors in the kitchen. There were beautiful paintings hung up on the walls, accompanied by luxurious, delicate frames.
"Your house is so nice," I repeated.
"Ok, ok. I get the point! You can stop acting so awed and stunned now like a crazed fan who's about to faint!" Jae laughed merrily.
Hmm... I like his laugh; it sounds so sweet... "But I am a crazed fan of you!" I flirted.
Before Jae could answer, the phone rang shrilly. Reaching over, Jae picked up the phone and spoke into the receiver. "Hello? Oh, Han Kyung? What? Seul Gi's boyfriend? Ok... So, right now? I'll go. I'll bring Ayumi along too. Wait, that's ok right?...Sure, yea. Uhuh. See you in a few! Bye!"
"That was short... And did you say something about bringing me somewhere?" I raised a brow.
"Oh. Seul Gi wants us all to meet her new boyfriend at Cafe Latte. You wanna come?"
"Definitely! I'd love to see what kind of man Seul Gi hooked herself up with!" I exclaimed eagerly.
"Hold your horses! What did you say...?" Jae sounded jealous.
"Uh, hehe, nothing at all! Come on, we don't want to be late, right?" I chuckled nervously, jumping up and heading for the door.

"Hey guys! Glad you could make it. My new boyfriend is soo sweet, and kind, caring... You couldn't ask for more!" Seul Gi gushed once everyone arrived.
Switching positions in my comfortable black, leather seat, I took a swig from my bottled iced tea. The suspense is killing me! "Oh, come on. Stop rambling and tell us who the lucky guy is!" I urged.
"You really wanna know? Jung Yunho, come on in!" Seul Gi called sweetly as a tall brunette haired guy walked in coolly.
Wait... Stop right there, Ayumi. Jung Yunho... Jung Yunho... That sounds vaguely familiart. Go Ara... Wait! That's it! Go Ara used to like him! Now I remember! Oh, GOD!!
"JUNG YUNHO?!" I shrieked in surprise, bolting up.
"AYUMI?! Wh-What are you doing here?!"
"Are you saying I can't be here? Huh? I may be shorter than you but I have courage!" I lifted my chin and tip-toed towards Yunho.
"N-No... Just wondering why the friggin' HELL YOU'RE here!"
"I'm here with Jae." I returned to normal and calmed down.
"Oh... Well, nice seeing you, then." Yunho nodded his head and went over to Seul Gi, wrapping his arms around her smaller frame.
Hn! I better contact Ara!
::Ara's POV::
Vrrr. Vrrr. I heard my black RAZR vibrate in my purse. Taking it out, I checked the caller ID. Oh, it's Ayumi again.
"Hi Ayumi! What's up?" I greeted.
"Ara! You better get your ass over here right now! Something big's up, I tell you!" Ayumi rushed.
"Whoa... What?" I asked, my curiosity arousing.
"Just come over here at Cafe Latte! Boy, you're in for a surprise." And with that, Ayumi cut her end of the line.
"Ugh... Kibum, is it ok if we go to Cafe Latte? Ayumi said something's up over there, but I'm not sure what," I explained.
"Sure. I'll just pay for our drinks and then we'll head out. Why don't you wait outside?" Kibum got up, moving towards the cash register.
"Ok." Standing up as well, I clasped my purse handle tightly and waited outside in anxiety. Looking at my watch, I found it read 4:00p.m. Oh, great. I really want to see what's up!!!
Finally, Kibum came out, pocketing his wallet and squinting under the bright sunlight of winter. Grabbing his arm, I dragged him all the way over to the sleek, black restaurant known as Cafe Latte. Walking into the cool, air-conditioned place, I passed the revolving doors and overlooked the place just for Ayumi. Soon, a frantically waving hand caught my eye.
"Kibum, over there!" I pointed towards the motioning arm.
"Ok. Let's find a booth near there. It seems as if all the spaces are taken," Kibum said.
"Sure, but let me say a quick hello first. I'm still nervous about what Ayumi has to show me." I shook with excitement.
"Yea, me too. Why don't you go over first then while I wait at that table?" Kibum squeezed my shoulders and headed towards a clear, glass coffee table.
Looking back to Ayumi, I jogged on over, untangling the fringes on my denim miniskirt. "Hey, Ayumi! What did you want to show me?" I asked and smiled my toothpaste-ad grin.
"This is Han Kyung and this is Bae Seul Gi and her boyfriend," Ayumi motioned towards three other people, sitting across from her and Jae Joong.
My head turned towards them. Wait, freeze! Bae Seul Gi's boyfriend looks like... Yunho?! My mind turned blank and I suddenly became immobile. What is going on? Why is he back?
"Yunho...??" I whispered, my throat suddenly turning all dry and icy.
The zoned out, dreamy boy looked me up and down, trying to figure out who I was. Immediately, it snapped. The connection was made. Slowly, Yunho stood up, his eyes trained on mine.
"Yunho, sweetie... You know her?" Seul Gi looked up in question.
"Ara, I never thought I'd see you again..."
"Huh. Don't give me any of that crap. You left me... Have you ever contemplated my feelings?" I pointed out, tears suddenly rising.
Yunho stayed speechless, just watching a tear roll down. I could feel more start to come up. My tears fall like rain. They sting like needles, and they're cold like ice...
"Listen, I've got a headache. I suddenly don't feel so good," I lied, putting a hand up to my forehead. Turning swiftly on my heel, I made a run for the door, trying to hide my tears behind my hair.
"Ara!" Kibum stood up abruptly, and sprinted after me in worry.
Yunho, on the other hand, never said anything, nor did anything. He just stood there, thinking to himself. Whatever. Does he seriously think I'd care? He sould really think more about others, than just himself. The fool...
