Her desk is near the middle aisle,where people passed by,all day to get to one end to another.She can see the comings and goings at the office.She looked at her watch,and yes in a few minutes ,Chun will walk by,on the way to his office.Everyday,she looked forward in seeing him passed by her desk,and greet her Good Morning,and that is enough for her to keep her happy for the whole day.
Chun is the son of the owner of the company,where Ella works.He is the apparent heir to the president and the CEO of the company.He studied abroad,to get him ready for his future position.He is handsome,tall and smart.Girls swoon at the sight of him,and Ella is not immune to his charms and charisma.She got a huge crush on him,the first time she laid her eyes on him..She thinks a world of him,and yes she will do anything,if one day ,just one day,Chun will look her way and acknowledge her presence.He will greet her everyday,but not really looking at her,and he does not even know,she really do exist.
And soon enough,the man of her dreams arrived,as all of the employees,looked at his way with admiration in their eyes and deep sighed.How can it be possible,that God gave him all the good things in life,it doesn't seems fair.
Chun looked around,as he greeted their employees,Good Morning,and then rushed to his office.Today is a very big day ,for today is the announcement.The company,invited the press to come over for a very special announcement.This the time that his Father has been preparing for.All his life,was catered for this one big impossible mission,and that is to take over his Father's place in the business world.
He knows,he have a big shoes to fill in,and he still don't know,if this is the one that he wants in his life,nor if he can fill his Dad's shoes.
Why can't life be just a simple thing,he thought.He does not want this,he never want this,but does he have any choice in his life at all? Even in marriage,he doesn't have any choice at all.His life is already molded for him,even before he was born.Mr Wu Chun,the son of the great Mr Wu Lou.he was born to rule an empire of business and people to lord over.Every action,every decision will affect somebody else life,that was his Dad taught him,so every action,every move ,he should consider everybody,in every little things he do.He lives not for himself,but for the business and the people he lord over.
He sat on his desk,in deep thought.He looked outside and feel like jolting out from the glass door that enclosed him.He felt like choking and running out of air,for the big responsibility ahead.He wished,he can ran away from it all,run away from all the stress and tension.He wished at this time,that he will be just an ordinary guy,who lives for himself alone,just like everybody else.
He thought about the engagement to a girl,he doesn't even know.When everything ,gets settled in the office,he have to marry her.But he loved somebody else.He always loved Charlene.Charlene is the woman of his dreams,but his Father thought that she is not good enough for him,for she is an actress,and she does not come from a prominent family just like them.Charlene has to be sacrificed for what,he does not even know anymore...But his Dad won over,he gave her up,and now she have moved on and now engaged to Mike,when it could have been him.He didn't know that it will hurt him a lot and that she will forgot him that soon.She doesn't even want to talk to him at all...
The intercom buzzed,as he was summoned to go to his Dad's office.He closed his eyes,and took a deep breath.I might as well get over this for today,and then I have to think of something,think or do something that will make me sane again.Maybe get away ,even it is a temporary thing.I need to run away from all of this,he thought....
There were press people to cover the announcement.Pictures flashed before his eyes,he smiled,received a warm applause and a warm hug from his Dad,as his Mother looked on with a tear in her eyes.Everything seems to be a blur,everything seems to be mechanical,the smiles,the speech,everything seems to happen in a dream,a very bad dream..
Chun stood in his room,looking outside,after all of this,until it becomes dark outside.Then he can see the glitters of neon lights stood before his eyes.He does not know ,how he feels anymore,he felt numb.Everything is so quiet now,as his door opens up,and then his secretary came .
"Is there anything else for today,Sir?" she asked.
"No,it is alright,you can go home now." Chun said."Good Night,I'll see you in the morning."
She bowed her head,and then closed the door behind her.He remained rooted in his office as he think ....
