In the end Ella gave up and decided to just a simple wedding in Las Vegas.They just decided to get married there and come back married at home and there will be less fuss and preparations and less questions asked.It is not a real wedding anyway why go with all the fuss and glitches.Ella did not even told her parents,it is not even a permanent thing.They will just tell them when it is done and over with.Knowing that if they know about the detail,they will try to stop her,and as much as she is having a second thought because of Chun's feelings and motives toward this marriage,she still wants a marriage with Chun,real one or imaginary or unreal,that's how much she loves him.
For Chun he is just aiming for one thing,marry her and get on with his life without the pressure of being committed to somebody for life.Just the thought choked him,and it scares the hell out of him.he knew Ella liked him,in fact more than liked him,he even thought that she was halfway in love with him,but he also liked her ,liked her but not enough to put love in the category.He has lost the meaning of love long time ago after getting hurt for a love that means a world for him.Ella is safe,he is comfortable with her,they get along pretty well and she is not at all bad looking at all.In fact he is attracted to her natural beauty and to his down to earth personality.Life with her will never be a boring one,as he mused about it.
Ella told only one soul about her marriage plans and that is Hebe.She needs somebody to unload her dilemma and burdens.
They decided that they will go to Las Vegas for the weeekend and then come back after a week married and surprised everybody.Chun knows that he will meet opposition and resistance from his family initially but will eventually accept the situation,after all they are only wanted him married and to make sure that the next line in their family is guaranteed.They will accept Ella and they will love her.
As Chun picked up Ella from her apartment on the way to the airport.He told her not to bring a lot of things.Ella was ready when Chun arrived,as Ella said her goodbye to Hebe.They kissed and hugged each other,as tears gave way knowing how Ella feels.
Ella's knees went weak as she walked to the car with Chun.She looked the last time in her apartment ,and now she knew that there is no turning back.She is going to be Mrs Wu Zun before the week is over,and how come she is not jumping with joy....She is marrying the man that she loves,if only he loves her back....what an irony as she turned to him and smiled,Chun smiled back at her as he hold her hand to assure her that she is doing the right thing.
Everything went faster than Ella thought.They were in Las Vegas the next day.Even with a heavy heart,she got excited with the sight of the Vegas.This is the first time that she have set foot to the U S,and the first time to ever leave the security of the home.
They stayed in a very popular hotel.Chun booked a suite in Venetian.The place was magnificent with the replica of the famous canals and the gondola.There was a piazza like the real thing in Venice.Chun smiled when he saw the excitement in Ella's eyes.She is so easy to please and that delights Chun to see Ella happy and excited.
"So what do you feel like doing tonight?" Chun asked Ella."I booked for a dinner in the piazza and do you want to watch any shows around?"
"Uhmm,this place is so full of life Chun.I have never been in this kind of place." Ella said as her face lights up like a kid.He just loves her when she is so animated and happy,seeing her happy makes him happy."How about just a tour around the city.I just wants to see the lights and the vive of the city."
"All right that can be arranged.But we have to have an early night.We are booked at ten tomorrow morning." Chun said.
Ella nodded her head.She does not want to upset herself and lost her enthusiasm,but the way he said about their wedding like a mere appointment hurts Ella.She shook her thoughts away,she can't be sensitive about her things.She just have to accept things as it is.The earlier she accepts it ,the better she will feel about this wedding.
They have dinner in the hotel's popular restaurant.They were served by in grand style.The restaurants ,the decorations and even the the table settings shows style and elegance.Ella felt a little out of place in such place.
Chun hired a limo to drive them around as Ella marvels at the sound sand sights.Peole from all walks of life,from different nationalities flocked to the Sin city.it must be the wine that they have for the dinner,but Ella is loose and smiled more often and so is Chun as both of them enjoyed the city.
It was almost midnight by the time they reach their suite.Ella was so tired from the trip and the excitements.She yawned as she dropped herself to the sofa,as she took off her heely sandals.
"Oh I am so tired,i can sleep the whole night and the whole day." Ella said.She wondered where they are going to sleep.There is only one bedroom and she is afraid to go inside the bedroom.
Chun noticed the hesitation on her part."You want to go to the bedroom and used the bathroom first?" Chun asked.
"Ahh yes but..." Ella said.as her confusion was shown on her face.
"If we are getting married ,we should get used in sleeping together in one bed.Not that I will do anything to you.Don't worry,I will be a real gentleman throughout this deal." Chun said as he smiled at her."But I hope you don't mind a little hugs and kiss now and then in front of the people especially in front of my parents and family?"
"I think I will be fine with that." Ella said,as she got up from the sofa to head in the bedroom.
When she entered the bedroom,she found a big box by the bed.And as she turned around she was surprised to see Chun in her back.
"What is this?" Ella asked.
"Your wedding dress." Chun said."I got your measurement from Hebe,I hope it fits you."
Ella opened the dress as she found a white lace dress as she took it out from the box and tried it on.it was beautiful and it looked so expensive as she saw the label on the dress and box "Vera Wang".
"Oh my God,Chun a Vera Wang wedding dress? You should have not done that.This is so expensive." Ella said.
"I want you to wear something really nice for our wedding.I want to look like it is real deal.I am glad you like the dress,and to complete the ensemble." as he handed a jewelry box.
Ella stared at him in amazement.
"Are you not going to open and see what is inside?It is my wedding gift to you.It is yours." Chun said.
Ella opened the jewelry box and found a set of diamonds earrings,necklace and bracelet,as it sparkle d right before her very eyes."Chun this is way too much.You shouldn't." was all Ella can say.
"And I am not finish yet,and to make it formal." Chun kneeled down in front of her."Ella Chen will you marry me?" as he presented her a ring in his hand as he took her hand and slid down a single diamond ring and kiss her hand.
Ella cried in the act.The wedding may not be real and all but this is the closest thing in her dream will ever be.And she will gladly take this man even without the frills and the diamonds that he can offer.But the most important thing is can he loved her back?....as she wiped the tears from her eyes.Yes the closest she can ever be in her dreams....but who says that dreams do come true as you want it to be.....There are some realities in life that one needs to accept....Life is not a bed of roses after all....
