For her she is marrying the man that she loves for the wrong reason but Chun he is marrying somebody ,void of feelings and for the right reason.He is trying to save himself for somebody else.Somehow the summation of the whole thing is wrong but it seems they can't back down now and the only thing they can do is go as planned.
Ella went to shower and Chun is still in bed.She thought of having an early headstart.Girls usually took a long time to prepare anyway.She took her time having a tub bath as she soaks her trouble away.She closed her eyes and prayed that Chun will wake up one day and realized that he loves her and that he needs her in his life....
Ella was all dress up when she open the door and she was surprised to see Chun all dressed up too,in his tuxedo with a bowtie.Ella could just take a breathe,her groom is such a sight,and that she knew that she have been lucky to be married him,real or unreal,as they stared at each other.
Chun was surprised to see Ella dressed in white,she was so lovely,her eyes shining and bright,her smile so real and even with her short hair ,she was all woman to him.His heart was into lurched knowing that there is an attraction that exist between them.Will it be easy being married to her as he thought,somehow after today,it seems it will never gonna be as easy,knowing and feeling that there is a woman besides you in bed at night,that you find attractive ,it will be hard sleeping at night much less fight any temptations,especially if the temptation is your own wife...
The minister ask them questions ...to have and to hold,for better or worse...in sickness and in health...till death do them part...words that have been said by millions of lovers,millions of couples,some have meanings and some just a dust in the wind and some to follow and live in as the days go by.Ella choked on the words as she said I do.As she said her vows and looked at Chun straight in the eyes, tears get in the way which she wished never came.But she can't help herself.
Chun looked at her bride as they said their vows.he is feeling different today,which he could not understand.And as he heard the words and said the vows to Ella,somehow the words got stuck in his throat and somehow touched him.He has heard those words a hundred of times and the first time those words get into him...Will he be feeling different after they leave this place or is he being swept by emotions for the moment?
Soon the minister is saying"You may kiss your bride" as Chun slowly came near Ella and put his lips in her lips as Ella closed her eyes....and the lips linger than what they have anticipated.Then Ella opened her eyes and Chun eyes was on her and his eyes full of longing and love....but then it is only for a seconds as the people around them caught their attention,by the time Ella looked back at Chun the emotions that she have seen before is gone and Chun is back to his old self again,the cold and unreachable Chun.
Their Honeymoon,if she can ever call that,was short and brief but a happy one.Chun showed her around Las Vegas.They went for a day tour at Grand Canyons in nearby Arizona.They went to Los Angeles and stayed there for the night and have a day in Disneyland.The trip in Disneyland is a revelation to Ella,that Chun can be young and carefree too.He was so loose and caring and quite touchy,touchy feely as he hugged her during their rides when she was afraid and screaming,kissed her on the cheeks as the fireworks lit up on the sky with the background of the castle.She have seen Cinderella with her Prince Charming and she feel like Cinderella with her Prince Charming by her side as Chun put his arms around her shoulder and pull her closer for a hug...Those things will forever be a memory that Ella will be able to live on once this charade is over...
They arrived in Taipeh early Sunday afternoon.They went straight to Chun's apartment.She wants to go home to her old apartment but Chun told her she have to stay in his apartment for now,otherwise it will not look credible that they are married.Ella just have to agree,she just have to call Hebe later that afternoon,and let her know that they are back in Taiwan.
That afternoon,Chun called his parents as he told them that he was back from the States and that he have an important news to tell them.They are expected by Chun's parents in their house for dinner.Ella did not expect that they will be meeting them this soon.She was not ready,as panic came to her.Chun just laughed it off.
"What are you worried about?It is not like you need their approval." Chun said."We will just tell them that we are married and then we are off from there."
"I don't know,but I am still afraid.They can be intimidating,what if they start asking questions?" Ella said.
"Just tell them that we have been seeing each other which is true." Chun said."And they can't do anything now,cause we are married and our license is real."
Ella kept quiet,yes she doesn't need to impress them,and it doesn't matter if they like her or not for she is just a temporary thing in their life.She will be gone before they knew it.But somehow in her heart,she wants them to like her and even love her like a true daughter....
