Ella was gathering her things and stuffing it in her bag,when her book fell on the floor,and as she walked over to picked it up,there was a new pair of hand that was there to picked it up for her.She looked up and found herself staring to the man of her dreams as she blushed.
Ella took the book from his hands,and as she smiled,her face is still burning ."I am sorry." she said in a low voice."And thank you for picking it up."
"You're welcome,"Chun said in a smile.He stared at her.There was something about her,that he cannot place."It is getting late."
"Oh I just have to finish up something." Ella said."I hate leaving work halfway."
Chun nodded his head,as he continued to look at her.She is not drop dead gorgeous,but she is beautiful in her own way,he thought.She have this eyes,that stare back at you,unflinching,unafraid.She have the eyes that defied rules and authority,and he likes that.Her lips are full and red,her hair short ,definitely not your ordinary girl,he thought.Her face fresh scrubbed with out a trace of make up.
"I was wondering ,if you have dinner already?" Chun asked
"No I haven't but,I am on my way home now." Ella said.
"Will you be kind enough to accompany me for dinner,tonight.I hate to eat by myself." he said.
Ella was shocked,the Boss is asking her ,a lowly employee like her for dinner.It is like straight out of fairy tale,she feels like Cinderella,and the Prince Charming is asking her out for tonight.She was unable to answer as she looked at him,she was lost,she was wondering if he is joking or something .There must be a tricked questions involved somewhere,,she thought.
"So what is it?" he asked."It is a yes or no?"
"Are you sure,you like to have dinner with me?" she asked him back.
Chun smiled back and scratched his head."Yes I am pretty sure,Ella." he said.
Ella was surprised at the mention of her name,and then she realized that he saw her name on her desk,he does not really know her,but then why did the Boss would asked his random employee for dinner?But then the chance is here,and why not, even for a night,a night with the Boss,the man of her dream,as she smiled at the thought.
"Yes,I would like to have dinner with you."Ella said."But I am afraid I am not dressed properly."
"Don't worry about it." he said,as he took her hand and lead her out to his car.Ella was so surprised but very delighted.
As they entered the restaurant,a reporter saw them and took their picture,so they ran away from the restaurant.They both
laughed as they got away from the reporters.Both of them short of breath and laughing.
"Now,I am really tired and hungry." Chun said."The problem is we left the car in the valet."
"It is alright,maybe we can find some place to eat around the corner." Ella said.
"I don't know much of a restaurant around here." Chun said.
"Don't worry,I just know a place ,just walking distance from here." she said.
They walked and walked,talking in between,and Ella telling him,about anything ,the place ,the history randomly ,till they finally reached the place.It is a small restaurant but it is packed with people.
"This must be good,but there is no table for us." Chun said.
"Don't worry,do you mind sitting on the stool by the counter?" Ella said.
Chun hesitated,but then the smell of food made him hungry."I don't mind at all,how about you?" he asked.
"You are asking me,I don't mind,I am very hungry." Ella said.
They have hot noodles with seafood.Chun watched Ella as she slurped on her soup and finished the last thread of noodles on her bowl.Chun smiled at her,she is so carefree and so unpretentious.He wished ,he can be like her,doing things without cares in the world.
They walked back after eating,this time they are not in a hurry,they walked slowly as they get to know each other more.Chun learned a lot from Ella.She lives with her friend Hebe in an apartment in the city ,while her family lived in Tainan.She goes home during weekend to visit them.
Chun absorbed the simpleness of her life,so simple without complications,and yes she can do whatever her heart desires.He wished ,he can do the same.
They went to get Chun's car and he drove her home.As they reached her place and Chun walked her to the door...
"Thank you for the dinner,I had a good time." she said.
"Me too I did enjoyed it." he said."Thank you for your time.." and then hesitantly added,"I wonder if we can see each other again tomorrow.This time this is real dinner,not on the run." as he smiled at her.
"Sure" she said.
"And Ella,I was just thinking,can we keep this between the two of us?" he asked
Ella nodded."Don't worry,I won't tell a soul" she said."Good night Chun." as she went inside.She did not even know ,she called him by his name....
Chun smiled at the sound of his name from her lips.Somehow ,it has a nice sound coming from her....
