But living with Chun and his family not only open ed Ella's eyes but also she has opened her heart as well.She have learned to trust and love both Chun's parents especially his Mom who have guided her in all her activities.it is also clear evident that her Mother in law loves her family,loves her husband and yes loves her son the most.Mrs Wu is willing to sacrifice even herself for the family and for the happiness of her son.Ella wondered if she can do that at that extent,although asking herself now,she was willing to go beyond, to help Chun because of her love for him.
As the night of the party drew near,Ella was busy with the preparation with Mama Wu.She helped her find the perfect gown for her,which is very expensive and a bit more elaborate than what she really wants.They went to the spa that morning and was unable to see Chun before the party.She was getting quite apprehensive about the party and she wants to hear what Chun have to say about the party.Somehow her closeness to Chun's Mom was even encouraged by Chun which Ella could not understand,if they are getting to part soon,why does Chun encouraged the relationship to develop?
Chun was home when Ella and Mrs' Wu got back from the salon,but he was busy somewhere else and they did not have time to talk to each other until she got ready to dress up.As she emerged from the dressing room in her gown and her make up and all dolled up,Chun was there staring at her in his tuxedo,
"I didn't know you were here." Ella said feeling awkward at his staring.
"Yes,I was waiting for you.You look beautiful.You look different from the Ella that I used to know." Chun said.
"Uhmm,that is only make up and it is all superficial." Ella said."I am still not used to all of this." as she tried to brush it off.
"Somehow ,I am started to be afraid that it will become you.I still like the Ella that I first knew." Chun said.
Somehow Chun's word confused Ella.She wondered if he really liked the Old Ella,he might have liked the old Ella but he does not love the Old Ella.Maybe he will never even love the new Ella at all,as she bit her lip.
"I have something to give you." as he held a box in front of her.
"What is this?" Ella asked."I don't think this is necessary " as she looked at the box in front of her.She knew that it is a piece of jewelry and she does not want to accept any expensive gifts from him anymore.Somehow it defeats her purpose to be here,at least that what it feels to herself.
"You need this to go with your gown.People will expect something more from you,I assure you." Chun said."Open it."
As Ella opened the box and it is a set of diamonds jewelries.Earrings,necklace ring and bracelet as it sparkles as the light stoked on it.
"Chun this is too much.It is very expensive.I am afraid I might lose this." Ella said.
"So what ,that is yours." Chun said."Believe me after tonight,you earned this."
"About us Chun,I have something to ask.I am feeling quite guilty about us from your parents especially your Mom.She is a very nice lady and I hate lying to her." Ella said.
"It is quite late for you to back down Ella.Although I never expected that they will open their arms and hearts to you that soon but they did.We can't do anything now." Chun said.
"I don't want to hurt them in the end." Ella said..
"I know,but some things can't be helped." Chun said."So are you ready for the big show? I just want you to know,That I am very grateful for what you have done for me.I'll never forget this." as Chun gave Ella a kiss on her cheeks and as he put his arms around her...Ella finding comfort in Chun's arms ,somehow everything is all worth it....now if only he can love her back...
