Maybe ,it was a mistake to say yes,to have dinner with him again tonight.Or maybe,he have forgotten all about her today.She looked at herself in the mirror and saw nothing special about her,that will make Chun interested at her at all.She doesn't even wear any make up.,she wore unfashionable dresses.She is just plain and simple Ella,an ordinary working girl,who happen to be there,when he needs company.
The office is already bustling with activities when she arrived.Chun must be in the office now,she thought,no hope of seeing him,and maybe,he won't even call on her today.She tried to concentrate on her work for today,but it seems her concentration is somewhere else ,as she keep erasing and doing all over her work for today.
Lunch came and done and still no call from Chun,maybe he changed his mind,and does not want to be with Miss Nobody today,she told herself.She put away her thoughts of him,I might as well have work done for today,she told herself.
She was trying to finish up her work for the day,and as she looked at the clock and it is almost five o clock,when her phone rang,as she absentmindedly answer it.
"Hello,Ella speaking."
"Hello,Ella,this is Chun,just to remind you about tonight,I'll pick you up around seven,you'll have enough time to dress up for dinner right?"
Ella was tongue-tied ,and was unable to reply right away."Uhmm,Chun...I..."
"Don't tell me,you forgot all about it,and you forgot all about me? Uhmm,that will be a first...I thought I am unforgettable."
"No,what I mean is I will be ready at seven."
"Good,I hate to be kept waiting,and you were late this morning,that was the first and I hope the last."
"Yes ,Boss." Ella said.
"I'll see you later,and don't boss me alright,call me Chun,is that understood?" and with that he hang up,as Ella almost jump from her seat.And then she thought,what is she going to wear tonight,she have nothing to wear tonight.She hurried her work,to go home to find at least a decent dress for tonight....
Ella tried almost all her clothes in the closet,but nothing seems fit for the occasion,as she stared out in space.Just then,Hebe got home and found her room mate staring in the space,as she greeted her.
"Hey,what is wrong with you?" Hebe asked.
"I am going out tonight for a dinner date,and I don't have a decent dress to wear." Ella said.
"A dinner date? You are seeing somebody and you are not telling me." Hebe said."Way to go Ella."
"There is nothing to tell yet." Ella said."And I don't think I can even go now.I have nothing to wear but old jaded pants and old fashion blouses.The only dress that I have is not even good enough."
"Don't worry,about clothes,I think my clothes will fit you."Hebe said."I might not have your boobs,but yes,you will fit in one of my dresses.Come on,you have to hurry,before your date comes."
Ella ran along with Hebe,as she tried her clothes,and luckily enough,she fits in her clothes,and they found a black dress that fits her to a T.A little bit daring,which shows some of her flesh,it is a mini skirt ,a little bit above her knee,it shows a part of her cleavage and a sleeveless,and yes,a little bit too much for her.
"I don't think,I would like to wear that." Ella said.
"But you don't have any choice,you don't have time to try and find another one.And we still have to do your make up and your hair.' Hebe said."You just have to do with that dress for now."
Ella let out a sigh as a resignation.She felt that it is too much for the occasion."But I don't want to be overdress,and then he might think that I am to impress him."
"But that is the truth,you are to impress him." Hebe said."And believe me,people will be dressed to their nines."
"Alright,whatever.If ever I made a fool of myself,it is your fault." Ella said.
"Alright,I will took responsibility,for you looking hot tonight." Hebe said with a glee."If I have that boobs and that legs,I'll show it up all the time."
"Yeah right,whatever." Ella said.
By seven o clock,Ella was ready and was waiting for Chun.She jumped when she heard the doorbell rang at exact time,as she waved Hebe goodbye,and Hebe gave her a hopeful sign,as she cross her fingers,and Ella smiled and grinned at her.
Chun was standing in the doorway,dressed in a black suit,looking so handsome.Ella was thankful and glad,that she was dressed up that night.Chun looked at her,but she cannot read his thoughts,he smiled at her,as he lead her to his car.She felt her hands sweat,as his hands touched her.
"You looked nice tonight." Chun said,"I didn't expect you'll be dressed...anyway,you look really nice and so sophisticated." But somehow for unknown reason,he preferred the Ella that he knew yesterday.
"Thank you.' as she smiled at him.Somehow,she felt uncomfortable wearing the dress,cause she have to pull the skirt down,for it keep going up,and she have to cover her chest, for her cleavage keep popping up.Chun notice her discomfort,as he smiled at her,and he have a hard time trying to control himself from laughing at the sight of her.
She looked beautiful and sexy and hot,but he still preferred the simple and plain Ella.
They stopped at a beautiful and elegant French restaurant, known in Taipei,as it the place where who's and who frequently visited.Chun took her hand and like a real gentleman escorted her inside.
Everything seems to be like a dream.The place was elegant and charming,as the maitre 'D lead them to their table.There was a soft music in the background.Everything look so beautiful and romantic,and as she caught Chun's eyes on her,as she blushed.
"So,how are you?" Chun asked."You really looked beautiful tonight,and you dressed nicely too."
"Yes.actually,I have nothing to wear,so I have to borrow my room mate dress for tonight." Ella said."I don't really feel comfortable wearing this."
"That I have notice" Chun said."You don't really have to dress up on my account."
"No,I don't want to embarrassed you." Ella said,as she smiled.
"No,you don't,I asked you,because I want you to be with me,and you can never embarrassed me,just because you're you." Chun said,as he shook his head.
"Thank you Chun,that's a relief to hear from you." Ella said.
"Sir,mademoiselle,I am Jacques,and I will be your server for today,Would you like something to drink? A wine or something like champagne." he said
Ella looked at Chun,she does not know what to order and she have never been in this kind of place.
"How about some red wine for now,Jacques." Chun said and with that the waiter was gone."Do you mind if I order for you tonight?"
"No,I would really preferred that you order for me,for I don't understand and know the food here.I am sorry." as she smiled.
"Don't be sorry,I should be the one saying that,I should have not taken you here.But I want to impress you I guess." Chun said."Though I preferred the noodles that we ate last night."
"Well the place is really nice and elegant.I am glad you took me here.I won't forget this place and I won't forget this night." Ella said.
"You have not tasted the food yet,wait until you tasted their food,then you'll say,you won't be able forget this night." Chun said.
Chun ordered the food for them.They have escargot,which is a snail,a kind of shell food as an appetizer,and they have salad,Tuna Francois,then Coq Au Vin for her and Chun have Cognac shrimp with Beure Blanc sauce.And to top the night,they have Chocolate Grand Marnier Crepe with Cafe creme.
"Uhmm,I don't think I can eat anymore for two days.But it is so good." Ella said."I never knew that French food can be so good and to die for."
"Don't die on me yet." Chun said as he laughed."I love it here,I only come her on special occasion."
"So what is the special occasion ?" Ella said.
"Nothing...I guess being the big honcho in the office is what you call special,though I did not work for it." Chun said with regret on his voice.
"Why,you don't think you deserved it?" Ella said."You deserved it Chun,you worked for that,since your birth.That is your birth right,and to think that you are not deserving,is not right,you are not giving yourself credit that you deserved."
Chun never saw or think of it that way before until now. Somehow seeing it that way,make it more acceptable.Now,his position is not as choking as before.he have a more positive outlook,in his place in the sun,and it is all because of Ella as he stared at her....
