Aside from their daily meeting in the morning,which is just a merely,good morning and good night,they haven't really talked to each other.Sometimes,Ella wondered if the true friendship,really do exist between the two of them.If there is truth,in their previous meetings before.
He looked so aloof and cold in the morning,and he looked so beaten and so tired in the afternoon or early evening,if by chance they meet each other .Although,he called now and then,but it is mostly brief and hurried.She wondered sometimes,if he really wanted to talk to her,cause sometimes,he seems to be disinterested,if she happened to tell him a story.She missed the Chun,that she have shared the meal with,the Chun,who takes time to listen and pondered on her words to say.She missed his stares and mostly his smiles,which she seldom sees in the office.
That afternoon,as Ella was getting ready to go home,her phone rang,as she answered the phone and it is Chun.
"Hi Ella,it is Chun here.I wondered,if you have anything planned for tonight?" he asked.
"Nothing really,just a date with my computer or TV.Why?" Ella asked.
"Wait for me.I am just finishing up my work here,and I'll get you or better yet,why don't you come down to my office ,when you're done." Chun said.
"Yes Boss as you said." Ella said.It iritates her,that Chun would just take for granted,that she will available and ready,everytime,he needs her.She knows,that he is the Boss and the owner,but still,she is not his maid that can be ready 24/7.
"I am sorry Ella,I did not mean it that way,but I am short of time,just be understanding of your friend,will you?" Chun said."I really want to see you tonight."
Ella was so touched by his words.It is not all out romantic,in fact ,not romantic at all ,but it has a nice ring to her ears,when he said that he wants to see her tonight.
"Alright,I am sorry too.I did not mean to be so sensitive.I'll be there,when I'm done with my work." Ella said ,as she hang up from the phone.
Although,she was done with her work,she took her time getting to his office.Chun was on his papers as he barely lifted up his head from the papers,that he have been studying,as he acknowledged her presence.
Ella sat their for another half hour as she stand and walk and looked out on the window.Till finally ,Chun got up from the chair,after ringing his secretary,as he gave back the papers,and gave her instructions.
"Come on let us go." he said,as he put on jacket,and grabbed his case.
"Wait,are you not going to tell me at least,where are we going?" Ella said.
"We are going to my place,and that is all you need to know." Chun said."Or you will ruin everything."
"Alright,it is nice to know,where and what and who?" Ella asked.
"Uhm,no can do,Come on,I have a surprise for you." Chun said."Is it good enough for you."
"Acceptable for now." Ella said."You seem to be in a hurry.Are you sure ,you have time for this?"
Ella,why do you have to question,everything.Why don't you just accept amd trust me?" Chun said.
"Alright,I am sorry.I am sorry if I upset,come on let us go." Ella said.Chun stared at her and Ella stared back.
They were quiet on the way,nobody was talking,Ella dared not to talk anymore,and Chun is too tired and too upset to talk.
They reached his place,as Chun excused himself from her, to go to his bedroom,and Ella was left to wander around.There some changes,in the apartment.It is more homely now and more warmth,as she stood by the window and looked out.She did not even notice that Chun was standing next to her,until he spoke his name,and it sounded so sweet to her ear.
She looked up at him and he was wearing a jeans and a tee shirt.He looked so fresh and so young,and so real and so warm.The bad feeling she have was all gone.And yes,she is willing to forgive him with anything.
"Hey,that is not fair,you look so comfy now,and I am still on my office dress." Ella said.
"You want to change,I have an extra shirt and a smaller jogging pants,you can wear if you want to?" Chun said.
Ella thought of wearing his clothes,and it is too intimate to be wearing somebody;s clothes,especially if it is a man's clothes.Although,it will be heaven to be in his shirts and pants.
"No,thank you,I'll be fine with this." Ella said. as she smiled.
"What are you doing?"Ella said."What is the surprise?"
"I am going to cook for you." he said.
"Are you sure,you are not tired and have the time for this?" Ella said."Why don't you just rest,we'll just do it,another day."
"No,we have to do this,tonight." Chun said."I am going away,tomorrow,I have to go to States,to see the other side of our business,and it will take me longer to come back,not just one week,maybe a month the most,I think."
"You are leaving again?"Ella said."You just come back,didn't you?"
"Yes,but it can't be helped.I still have a lot to learn." Chun said."Anyway,I asked Maria to prepare everything for me,before she left this afternoon.And when I came back,it is your turn to cook for me." as he smiled at her,and Ella have to force a smile on her face.
"And I have to see you tonight,so I can said goodbye,I don't want you getting mad at me again,when I come back." Chun said,as he pinched her nose.
"I am sorry,but it is your fault,I can't help myself,when I am mad.I have this wild streak in me,that I can't stop.my temper..."Ella said.
"No,don't stop your self,in fact,that's what I like bout you.'" Chun said."Your lucky,that you can do whatever you feel like doing."
"And you can't?" Ella asked.
"Uhmm,yes,most of the time."Chun said."Come on help me with the vegetables." Ella looked at him."You can cook right?"
"Of course." Ella said,as she smiles."And I can beat you in cooking."
"You'll have your chance,when I come back." Chun said."Tonight is my chance."
Chun prepared grilled chicken with vegetables over rice.He also cooked a fish dish,salmon with dill sauce.Chun was an unbelievable cook,everything he cooks,tasted good.She will have hard time beating him up in the cook out.
They have tea and fruit tarts for dessert,and they watched television for news.Before the news was over,Ella noted that Chun was almost dozing off in the sofa,as his head fell on Ella's shoulder.She wants to move him,but she was afraid that he would wake up,if she moved him.She tried to shook him up,but he looked so peaceful,and he looked so tired.He slowly put his down on the sofa,as she took a blanket from his bedroom and put it on the top of him.As she was about to leave him,she felt his hand on her wrist.
"Don't leave me yet." Chun said."Just give me a few minutes,and I'll drive you home."
"No,Chun,just rest up for tomorrow,I'll just take a cab." Ella said.
"No,just wait for me.it is dangerous for you to be alone.It is already late.It will make me feel better,if i myself takes you home." as he tried to get up.
"Alright,just rest up for now,I'll just watch the news." Ella said.And with that Chun went back to sleep.
When Chun woke up,the sun is already up and Ella is gone.There was a note on the coffee table from her.

Thank you for the dinner.It was great.Safe trip to US and safe trip back home too.Take care of yourself.

Chun read the letter and smiled,as he put her letter on his pocket.Someone to come back home with....
