Tonight,they are having dinner together,the foursome,Hebe and her and Jiro and Arron.If you watch them from a distance you may think that something is going on between the four of them,but so far the boys have not been making any move on both of them,not that Ella likes any of them.Hebe too is confused of what their friendship too,at first she thought that Arron have a thing for her,or Jiro and then it seems like they are only for their company and friendship,nothing more.
It was decided that Arron is picking up Hebe and Jiro is picking up Ella in her office.Jiro spoke before ,that he knew who owns the company that she works with,saying in passing that they are a family friend,thinking that the older Wu must have known the older Wang,since both of them are in the business circles.
That morning,there was a buzz in the office that the young Wu have come home from the States.Ella was excited when she heard the news,but she wonder if their friendship really do exist,he hasn't heard from him since then.No phone calls,not even a cards ,nothing at all to check if she is still breathing or not.She can't deny that she was hurt of his action.From now on ,she will treat him only as his boss ,nothing else,she told herself.
No sooner than that Chun came bustling in in the office as he greeted everybody in the office with a smile.Ella looked his way,but it seems he did not see her,like she was one on the crowd.So much for anticipating his return,Ella told herself.He might as well gone back to Timbuktu or to the ends of the earth,she told herself angrily.
By six o clock,Jiro was in the office,today he was dressed impeccably in his suit and Ella looked at him with a wide grin in her face.
"So what the suit is all about?" Ella said."I am afraid I am not dressed for the occasion." she said playfully.
"Nothing,my old man wants me to attend a meeting,this afternoon,I went but it we have to reschedule,the big wigs in some other company have an emergency,sort of a business thing.I hated attending those stuff.I already told him,but he threatened to disown me.Hey,I love frills but hated the responsibilities that goes with it."Jiro said as he frowned at the thought."Music is my thing,not those boring figures."
"Seems like no way out for you,why don't you just exert an effort to like it." Ella said.
"I know,I have been thinking maybe we can make a compromise in the end." Jiro said."It is hard being the only child,everything falls on you." Jito said.
And then Ella's phone rang and it is Chun."Ella,this is Chun,I was wondering if you join me for dinner tonight?"
Ella bit her toungue.He is asking her now,and Jiro is here already.She rather have dinner with him but it is quite too late now."I am sorry Chun,I am om my way out now,"
Ella didn't know that Jiro heard her."Did you say it is Chun?Let me talk to him,i have not heard from him." Jiro said.
"Hey Buddy,how are you?I haven't seen you for a while too busy being the heir of the great Wu." he said in a teasing tone."Alright why don't I stop by at your office,before we go.Arron will be happy to see you too.Alright i see you in a seconds." as he hung up.
"I didn't know you were friends with my Boss." Ella said.
"Yeah we have been friends since we were young,we grew up together,we were like brothers,even went to the same school together." Jiro said."That Chun is a good son,me I can never be like him.Giving up Charlene for this,for his family,he is crazy."
Ella looked at him,so Jiro knows more about Chun than anything else.They must be really close.But somehow the mention of another woman's name brought pain in her heart.She must be the girl,that Chun truly love,that is why,he can only offer her friendship.
"Come on,go with me in his office,he is expecting us." Jiro said.
"Why don't you just go,and come back here when you are done.I don't want to be in a way." Ella said.
"He wouldn't mind,and I thought you are friends already.Letting him call him in a first name basis,then you are a friend to him too." Jiro said.
Ella went to with Jiro,as she watch the two greet each other with a brotherly hug and a handshake.Both are just too happy to see each other.Chun looked so relaxed talking to Jiro.Chun gave her a cold smile as he looked at Ella and Jiro.
"So you are going out for dinner,don't let me hold you." Chun said.
"Why don't you join us,we are also meeting Arron and Hebe for dinner.?" Jiro said."Arron would be just too happy to see you."
"No I don't want to be the third wheel." Chun said,as he tapped Jiro's shoulder and looked at Ella.
"No,we don't mind.right Ella?" Jiro said."Come on,it will be fun."
Chun hesitated for a while and then say yes."Why not? A dinner,as long as you are paying." Chun said.
"Hey and who is the rich guy here." Jiro asked.
"I am not,I am just a mere employee here,at least you are considered the son of the boss in the office,letting you do nothing." Chun said. as both of them laughed.
Somehow,in as much as Ella want to be with Chun,it will be so awkward being with him and being with the group.Hebe will find out that it is him,that she has been going out with.She wondered what is in Chun's mind right now,as she let out a deep sighed...
