“What?”
“Mr. Lau’s son is taking over ‘Essence’.”
“What son? I’ve been working here for twenty years and I never heard of any son?”
“I don’t know but…”
“Hush! He is coming…”
Myolie watched the group of employees quickly divided up and went back to their desk. “So…here’s your office.”
Raymond followed her to the outside of a large office and on the door he can see his name labeled there. “You guys are pretty sure I’ll come, huh?”
Myolie ignored his attitude. “Let me introduce you to your fellow colleague.”
“Wait, I thought I’m their boss.”
“Well, you are the manager. You manage them but you are not really the boss.”
Raymond grumbled.
“This is Vic… Sam… John, and over there are Shirley and Kate. Oh, there is Tom, our office boy.” Myolie turned around to the ladies in front of his office. “This is Mrs. Tong, your secretary and Sharon, your assistant.”
“Hi, what’s up.” He smiled charmingly. Most of the women suddenly feel the temperature of the room rising, except for Mrs. Tong, a fifty-three years old widow.
“Get back to work.” Myolie led Raymond back to his office and closed the door.
She instantly turned on him. “I know it is not written on the contract but even an imbecile knows that you have to wear a suit in an office environment!”
Raymond shrugged. He walked around the large office. There was a long black sofa, a shelf with books, and a table in the far corner for meetings. Raymond walked over to his chair and spin around and around.
“Are you listening to me?”
“Sure.” He said while searching his desk to see how many drawers there are. The computer and equipment on his desk are all top notch and he discovered a panel with buttons.
“Raymond! This is serious. It’s not a joke!” Myolie walked over and stopped the spinning of his chair. “Essence is a major financing and insurance company. We have over thousands of account and clients, you have to focus. Look what are you wearing?”
Raymond looked down at his wore jacket and jean. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?”
“Didn’t you know that you have a whole closet of clothes for you to wear at work? If you don’t know what is appropriate, you can ask Perri. Anyway, if you have any questions, ask Mrs. Tong. She has been your father secretary since he started Essence. She knows everything around here. If you need help with anything, Sharon is here to aide you. Or you can call me anytime but I’m usually either here or in my firm across town. Any questions?”
Raymond frowned. “What do you mean I have a whole closet of clothes to wear? Where is this mystery closet?”
“At your mansion, in your room?”
“Wow…I got a mansion.” Raymond smiled.
“Yes. It’s in the contract.”
“Cool.”
Myolie opened the door, ready to leave. “Oh, say Hi to Uncle Damien for me?”
“What?”
She shut the door.

“What do you think?” She looked up at her husband.
“You did a fabulous job.” Damien kissed her hand.
“I just hope Raymond will like it.” Michelle mumbled in uncertainty. She had spend the whole day getting this room ready for him.
“He will love it.” He smiled at his wife…but he wasn’t sure he would come at all.
“Damien…How are you feeling?” Michelle took hold of his arm.
“I’m fine.” He smiled at her, his sweet, caring wife for twenty years.
“Dinner should be ready.” Taking her hand, they slowly walked down to the dining room.
They waited for two hours for Raymond to come home for dinner but finally they gave up. Michelle watched helplessly as Damien silently walked back to his room.

It was 3:00AM in the morning when Raymond entered the Lau’s mansion. In his drunken state, he was not even sure how he got in or where he was going. He thought someone was there to hold him and to settle him on something soft and warm. Within second, he was asleep.
The light almost blind his eyes.
“What the f*k?”
“Wakie wakie…” A soft feminine voice yelled beside his ears.
“What the hell do you want?” Raymond grabbed the corner of his blanket and pulled it over his head.
There was a soft giggle. “You talk funny.”
Raymond felt a soft hand on his head and then his blanket was pulled away from him.
“Come on…” She whined. “Wakie wakie…It’s time for breakfast.”
Raymond finally open his eyes and stared at the girl who woke him up. However, he didn’t expect a young girl in a school uniform, he was expecting a maid or something.
“Who are you?”
The girl giggle sweetly again. “I am Selena.” She suddenly broght her face literally into his face. Raymond noticed that she was a rather beautiful girl even if she was a little crazy.
Slowly she brought her finger tips to his cheek and rubbed it. “What’s that?”
Raymond gave her a weird look.
She rubbed her cheek, which was smooth and soft and rubbed Raymond’s rough cheek that shown a day growth of beard. She giggled again. “Your face are growing hair.” Her eyes widen in fascination.
“Okay…You are starting to scare me…” Raymond threw back the cover and sat up.
Selena frowned. “I’m sorry if I scared you.” Her lips pouted and she looked like she wanted to cried.
“Hi…Hi…I’m not scared.” Raymond gently patted her head like a little child.
Selena stiffed. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” She looked up at him with innocent eyes. “Daddy told me Brother will be living with us. We waited for Brother for dinner but he didn’t come…I want to see him…Perri said you are sleeping but the short arrow is pointing at eight now. You should wake up. I can’t wait so I sneak in…” She frowned again. “Please don’t tell Daddy, he doesn’t want me to bother you…” She pouted.
“Hi…” Raymond said gently and stroke her long black hair. “I won’t tell him.”
He figured it out already. This girl in front of him must be his step-sister and from the way she talked and acted, Raymond are sure that she was not quite right. She looked like she was eighteen or nineteen years old but her mind seem to be acting like a child. Yet, Raymond couldn’t help but felt a little protective of her.
“I’m glad to see you. I wanted to meet you, too.”
Selena’s face instantly brighten up. “Let’s go to breakfast.” Selena grabbed his hand.
Raymond shrugged carelessly since he was wide awake. “Well, I need to shave first…”
“What’s shave?” Selena asked curiously.
“It’s…um… cutting the hair off my face.” Raymond explained. “Doesn’t your father ever have a beard…I mean hair on his face?”
“Nope…” Selena intertwined her fingers with his and led him to the bathroom. “Daddy always wake up earlier than me.” She pointed to the sink. “Your breath is stinky. Mommy said you need to brush your teeth everyday or monster will eat it…”
Raymond nodded with humor and grabbed the toothbrush. He turned and noticed that Selena was still in the bathroom. “Are you waiting for me?”
She nodded.
“But I will take a while. Why don’t you wait for me outside?”
Selena shook her head. “I…I want to watch you shave…” She said shyly.
Raymond laughed. “Okay.”
Selena smiled brightly.
Damien was so happy that Raymond moved in with them, even if throughout the entire meal, Raymond didn’t say a word to him or Michelle. Yet, he was happy Selena and Raymond was getting along just fine. As long as they are happy, their parents will be happy as well.

Myolie sighed in exhaustion at the work piling on top of her desk. This was insane. She could handle the work but what she couldn’t handle was Raymond Lam. If he doesn’t do anything, that was actually better for her because when he actually do something, she was left with the burden of setting it right. She had already told Sharon to give him only the simplest work, while teaching him about the regular function of the company, but he was never serious when she tried to talk to him. Maybe Sharon would have more luck.
Suddenly there was a knock on her door.
“Come in.”
“Myolie?”
She frowned when she looked up at her brother.
He smiled and held up a file.
“Oh, thank god. I almost forgot.” Myolie quickly run up to him and gave him a huge. “You are a life saver…”
Steven laughed.
“I thought you are due in court this afternoon?” Myolie pulled away and looked up at him.
“There was a schedule conflict with the defense lawyer…so I’m free this afternoon.” He took a look at her desk. “Need any help?”
Myolie’s eyes sparkled in hope and gave him a big hug again.
Steven laughed.
“Well…Well…Caught in the act.”
Myolie glared at Raymond who is standing in her doorway. “What do you want this time?” She pulled apart from Steven. Steven turned to Raymond and hold out his hand.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Steven. Myolie’s brother.”
Raymond took a look at him and shook his hand. “Raymond.” He turned to Myolie. “Brother, huh? For a moment, I thought you actually have a man.”
“What do you want? If you just happen to wander into my room, the door is that way. Please don’t let it hit you on your way out?” Myolie faked a smile.
“Oh, I just want to let you know that I hired a new assistant.” He walked out.
“Wait. What?” Myolie ran out after him and grabbed his arm. “What assistant?”
“Her.”
Myolie watched as a woman walked toward them. Her eyes was wide open to the point it almost popped when she saw what the woman was wearing. The woman has on a tight black shirt that was so short it could barely cover her and her blouse was transparent to the point that it could easily be see through. Staring at the woman herself, Myolie didn’t realize that all the men in the office have stopped working with their mouth drop open.
“This is my new assistant, Linda Chung.” Raymond smiled at Myolie.
Myolie shook her head. “Sharon is your assistant.”
“I know.” Raymond continued to smile. “I need two assistants.”
“No, you don’t.”
Raymond walked up to Myolie. “I said I do. I’m the GM here, don’t I have the ability to hire myself a second assistant.” He looked serious now.
Myolie looked at him angrily. This was ridiculous. He can’t just hire this…woman who have less clothes on than when she goes swimming herself. She wanted to say no but she can’t find any excuse at this moment. Argghh!!! Damn him!
Raymond watched Myolie’s face turned red and march back into her office.
“Nice to meet you.” Steven smiled at Linda before he followed his sister.
After Raymond introduced Linda to his colleague, they went back into his office.
Instantly, Raymond laughed out loud. “Did you see her face?!”
Linda shook her head and lay down on his sofa. “Nope, I am busy with the guys in your office.”
Raymond lay down on his chair. “It’s quite funny how Vic looked when you bend down to pick up a pencil. I thought his eyes was going popped out. But seriously Linda, I don’t want the entire male species panting after you…”
Linda swirled her hair around her fingers. “Well, at least one of them is not…” She mumbled to herself.
“Huh? You mean me?”
Linda frowned and threw a pillow at him. “You never look at me twice. If it wasn’t for how your exes bragged about your ‘abilities’, I really thought you are gay.” Linda laid back down on the sofa with her legs dangling on the edge. “Anyway, I’m talking about that guy with the glasses, short hair, with a suit that seem to be made for his body.”
“Steven? That woman’s brother? What about him?”
“His eyes… You didn’t see his eyes. When I was walking into the room, everyone was looking at my body, even the women, except for you and him. You are too busy looking at your lawyer’s disbelief expression and he…”
“What?”
Linda frowned. “He was looking at my face and then he glanced at his watch.”
Raymond laughed while he walked over and sat down beside her. “Can’t stand one of our male species to not take a look at your long legs?” He placed her dangling legs on his lap and started massaging her feet.
Linda rolled her eyes. “Maybe he is gay.”
Raymond laughed out loud. “That’s your explanation every time someone is not interested in you.”
Linda frowned. “So BOSS, what am I suppose to do anyway?”
“I don’t know what I’m doing half the time here myself.”
“So why do you hired me anyway?”
Raymond shrugged. “You entertain me.” He joked.
Linda hit him. “Well, at least I’m getting pay… and I might hit some jackpot.”
Raymond suddenly deepen his voice. “As long as you are careful. I don’t want to see any children so soon…”
Linda suppressed her laugh, grabbed her purse and hit him on the head. She stood and walked to the door but before she left…
“Relax, Daddy, I’ll make sure you died before I get knocked up.” With that, she slammed the door shut.
Raymond can’t stop laughing. This was going to be fun as he watched from the window how every male colleague rush to Linda’s side to introduce themselves again.
But the truth was…he didn’t want to see Linda living her life like this anymore. She deserved to find someone who will treat her nice and Raymond knew that she will never find that someone if she continued to date jerks who cared about nothing but her appearance. At least now, she might find someone decent here…it was time that she put the incident behind her once and for all…God knows…between the two of them, at least one of them deserve true happiness and Raymond will see to it that she does.

One week…Myolie had been working with Raymond for a week now and she could not stand him. He seem to make it his life mission to find ways to make her life miserable but nothing top what he did on a Monday morning when she entered his office to talk to him about a new client.
Myolie knocked his door several times and he didn’t answer. Knowing that he was in there the entire morning, Myolie opened the unlock door with a file in her hand.
“Raymond Lam, what is the meaning of this…”
But she didn’t expect to see the shock of her life…

What is so shocking to Myolie???(^c^) Our characters are coming together...however, it doesn't seem like they like each other much...Steven and Linda finally met...Selena appeared as Raymond's stepsister...Raymond is still pissing Myolie off. What will happen next?
