The moment Myolie saw him, she tensed up automatically.
“Hey…” He took a seat across from her.
“Hello…” Myolie took a sip of her orange juice from her straw and bite onto it.
Vincent looked at Myolie. “He told you, didn’t he?” Vincent sighed and looked really sad.
Myolie’s eyes widen. “Did you do it? Did you really…””
“Yes.” Myolie was shock. “Legally, you can say that.”
Myolie looked confused. “I don’t understand.”
“She was 16 years old. I was twenty.” He looked out toward the window. “Legally, she was underage. Even if we made love willingly, it will still constitute rape.”
“Legally…but what really happened?” Myolie asked and then realized she was being nosy. “I…I mean…it’s really none of my business but…”
“I don’t mind talking about it.” Vincent replied. “I…I don’t want you to misunderstand.”
Myolie nodded slightly.
“I guess it started when my father gave me pressure on taking over the family business. All throughout my life, I am being trained and prepared for the Wong’s business…but nobody ever asked me if I like it or not. So during my late teen years, I started hanging out with the wrong crowd. I guess you can say it’s my rebellion stage. That’s when I meet Natalie.”
Myolie watched as Vincent smiled sweetly.
“It was her first time there. She was a complete contrast to the people there, so pure and innocent. I was captivated by her instantly.” He turned toward Myolie. “So was Raymond.”
Myolie’s eyes widen.
Vincent nodded. “Natalie felt out of place in a club but we hit it off right away. Thinking back now, it was almost like love at first sight. I knew it was not right. I knew that she was too young for me but I never found someone so understanding. We understand each other. She wanted to be a scientist…and I wanted to be an artist. Two different people with two different dreams and we bonded instantly.” He looked at Myolie with a sad expression. “I loved her, Myolie. Do you believe me?”
He looked so sincere. Myolie nodded. “Yes.” She believed him.
“But there was no way we can be together. We secretly dated for a few weeks. It was the happiest time of my life but it didn’t last long.” Vincent buried his face in his hand. “I didn’t know…we didn’t know…Natalie had a miscarriage. We didn’t even know she’s pregnant. But her parents found out. They putted all their hope into her and they thought I will be a bad influence on her. Basically, they just…freak out. They can’t believe their innocent daughter was going out with a bad boy like me. They tried to lock her up but she sneaked out to see me.” He suddenly laughed. “We were planning to run away…but they found out. We never had a chance.”
Myolie softly touch his hand to comfort him. He held on.
“They brought it to court, charging me with rape. But they never had enough evidence. When my family heard of this, they sent me away. By the time I sneak back to Hong Kong, Natalie already committed suicide. I killed her, Myolie. If I haven’t known her, if I didn’t touch her, she will be alive.”
Myolie watched helplessly as Vincent buried his head in his arm. “It’s not your fault.”
Vincent looked up with red teary eyes. “Are we still friends?”
Myolie smiled and nodded.

Raymond was walking back into his office when he heard the phone rang on Tavia’s desk. He looked around and realized that she was not there. He picked up the phone.
“Essence. How many I help you?”
“Where’s Tavia Yeung?!” A rough and rude voice shouted into the earpiece.
“Who is this?”
“Tell her she has til this weekend to pay us back…Or else we WILL march up there!!!” The phone was slammed into Raymond’s ear. The instant he spotted Tavia coming back to her seat, Raymond grabbed her and pulled her into his office.
“What are you doing?” Tavia pulled away.
“Tavia, did you borrow money from ‘shark’ loaners.” He exclaimed angrily.
“How did you know?” Tavia was shock at Raymond’s knowledge.
“They were calling the office! They said if you didn’t pay them back by this weekend, they will come up to the office.”
Tavia looked shock and slowly fell down on the sofa.
“Tavia…” He kneeled down on the floor next to her. “Are you okay?”
Tavia looked pale. “I…I didn’t realized they will called here.” She turned to Raymond. “I am so sorry, Raymond.”
“Tavia, I’m asking, are you okay?”
She nodded. “I just… forgot to pay the last payment…I will be fine.”
“Are you?” Raymond took her hands into his hands. “Talk to me, Tavia. Is this because of your mother?”
Tavia nodded sadly. “It’s her medical expense…but I can handle it. Before my father passed away, he left us some money…”
Raymond shook his head. “Those are loan shark. They will tear you apart, Tavia.”
“What can I do?!” Tavia pulled away from him. “Just let my mother died?! I can’t do it! I just can’t…” Tavia mumbled hopelessly as Raymond rose up and sat beside her. He slowly brought her head to his shoulder.
“Let me help you, Tavia.” Raymond started stroking her hair.
“Why?” She whispered against him.
“Because…” He pulled apart. “I can’t even explain it.” He looked into her eyes and something clicked. Slowly he leaned over and kissed her on the lips, softly at first. Gently he explored her mouth and pulled away suddenly.
“You.” Raymond looked at her. “You are my midnight angel.”
“I…”
Raymond stopped her by kissing her again, deeper with passion.
“It’s really you.” He smiled at her.
“Yes.” Tavia looked away.
“You knew?” Raymond looked surprised. “You knew it was me.”
She nodded.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Raymond frowned.
“That night…it seemed magical but…there was nothing more to it. I mean I have a boyfriend.”
“This mysterious boyfriend… I’d never saw him or heard of him. Does he even existed or are you making him up?” He gently tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. “Who is he? I don’t mind fighting…”
“Raymond…” Tavia stood up and moved away from him. “He’s busy.”
Raymond stood up as well. “He’s always busy.” He moved toward her but she stepped away. “I’m sorry, Raymond.”
Tavia was about to walk out but Raymond grabbed her.
“Tavia, just let me know if there is anything you need…don’t mess with loan shark. If you really need money, you can borrow it from me. I charged a much desirable interest rate.”
Tavia smiled softly. “Thank you.”
“Anytime, angel.”
Raymond watched helplessly as Tavia walked back to her station. He suddenly have a feeling… a sensation of falling…falling down into a pit and there was nothing he can do. He can try to stay away but… it will be useless…

“Nice place you got here.” Linda used her finger tip to touch the edge of the kitchen counter.
Steven felt uncomfortable from the amount of wine he consumed from dinner with Linda. “Didn’t you want to use the bathroom?”
“Yeah…” Linda smiled happily. “Are you okay, Steven? You look kind of…”
“I’m alright. I just need to sit down for awhile.” He sat down on his sofa, rubbing his temple.
Linda slowly walked over to him and sat down next to him, a little too close.
“You drank too much…” She whispered in his ear, slowly she brought her hands to his temple and started rubbing it. “Feeling any better?”
Steven nodded.
Linda smiled and gently slide his glasses off. Then she continued massaging his head.
Without Steven realizing it, Linda slide one of her leg on top of his laps. She leaned so close to him that their chest was almost touching. Slowly she let one of her hand slide down onto his chest. “I can make you feel much better…” She breathed out the syllables.
“Linda…” Steven tried to move away but Linda was practically on top of him.
“Steven…” She started kissing him. “Just one night…I just want one night with you.”
“I…” He can’t talk when Linda continued to kiss him. “This is not right.”
“I won’t tell your fiancée…This is just between you and me.” She straddled on top of him.
“Linda…” He tried to pull her away but instead he pulled her closer.
She smiled happily as she bit onto his lips. He was responding to her, she thought. His hands moved onto her back and he started kissing her back.
He closed his eyes and relaxed on the sofa as Linda trailed her lips down his throat. His mind was in a dazed until he slowly opened his eyes and saw Bernice’s picture on the wall. He instantly came awake from the dream and pulled Linda away from him.
She watched as Steven ran into the bathroom and splashed water onto his face. Linda stood there looking at him with a sad expression.
“Just one night…” Linda looked as he turned toward her. His face wet and his eyes with regret. “I just needed one night.” She whispered to herself softly.
“Linda…”
“No one would know…” She can’t stop talking to herself.
He walked over and took her hand. “We shouldn’t start something, when we both know there’s no ending to it.”
She pulled away and shook her head.
“I just want to get you out of my system.” She looked at him with hatred. “Why do you make me feel this way? Out of all the men, why do you have to be the one?!” She ran out.
“Linda!” He ran after her.
She continued to run without looking where she was going. She didn’t know where to go…she ran and ran. At first, she can still heard Steven behind her but the distance continued to widen and he lost her. When she finally stopped running, she realized she was in the park.
By the time she stopped in the middle of nowhere, she realized she was soaking wet. It had been raining heavily for the last few minutes but all Linda can felt was numbness. She slided down onto the ground and curled herself up and started sobbing. Yet, no one could hear her over the pouring of intensive rain. As always she was alone to suffer in pain.

“Psst…”
The bushes started moving. “Is it safe?”
Selena giggled. “Yes.”
Kenneth emerged from the darkness. “Wow, that tutor of yours sure talks a lot.”
Selena smiled and brushed the leaves from his hair. “Mrs. Lui likes to talk.”
Kenneth grinned. “So…” He straightened up. “How’s my little princess today?”
Her eyes sparkled in joy hearing him called her princess.
He can’t help but find her adorable but business was business. “Selena, I’m sad.”
She frowned. “Why?” She automatically patted his shoulder to comfort him.
“I don’t want to keep seeing you like this. I really like you….”
“I like you, too…” She blushed.
“Selena…” He took her hand. “I really want to bring you to this place…it is amazing…like a fairyland…” He watched Selena’s eyes widen. “But your parents wouldn’t allow it.”
“Maybe they will…” Selena said hopefully. “I will ask them.”
“No!” Kenneth grabbed her. Selena frowned instantly. “You can’t. They will take me away.”
He stroked her cheek. “You don’t want them to send me away.”
Selena shook her head sadly. “What is this place?”
“A place where we can be alone. Would you come with me?”
“But…Mommy and Daddy won’t let me?” She whispered softly.
“They don’t have to know…I will leave them a letter.” He kissed her on her forehead. “Go back inside for now…when I have everything planned out, we will go.”
Selena wanted to cry when she watched Kenneth climbed back outside. She didn’t know what to do…She was afraid to talk to her parents because she don’t want them to sent Kenneth away but she was also scared of leaving her childhood home. She had always been protected in this safe mansion, would she dared to leave it and faced the world outside?

It was dark by the time Tavia left the hospital. As always her mother didn’t respond to her voice at all. It had been five years since the accident and her mother haven’t even blink her eyes. Every single time she came to visit, she hoped for good news but by the time she left…all she felt was despair. God…she needed a sign…she needed something to tell her what to do…what is right…and what is wrong…she felt tons of brick weighting down on her shoulders. For god sake, she was merely a woman…how much more can she take…
Suddenly she felt a slight tap on her shoulders, she turned around.
Standing there was a man with broad shoulders and massive height. “Tavia Yeung?” He mumbled deeply.
Tavia swallowed hard and held onto her purse tighter. “Yes.”
The instant the word came out of her mouth, he grabbed her….
