Bosco ran in, with Leila and Ron behind him. “Mother,” Bosco shouted again and rushed forward to Queen Tavia, pushing Raymond away from Queen Tavia. Michelle rushed to Raymond’s side. To the shock of all others, Queen Tavia gave a hard slap across Bosco’s left cheek, screaming at the top of her lungs, “Get your dirty hands off me, bastard!”
Bosco was stunned and Myolie ran to help him up. Bosco just turned and threw an ice thorn in Raymond’s direction. Raymond was supposed to get hurt by the unexpected attack but Ron sent out flames to melt the ice thorn.
“Don’t thank me yet. More to come,” Ron said hurriedly as Bosco sent more ice thorns flying in Raymond’s direction. Even Myolie put down her disguise and started wailing, shaking the dungeon, her tears beating against the hard layers of ice. Ice that they were stepping on inside the dungeon changed to ice thorns. Ron commanded his powers within and melted the ice thorns; they were now fighting on water. From Ron’s corner of the eye, he noticed that Leila was actually missing. Then Myolie shouted for the water to freeze back into ice again. However, Michelle was one step faster as she demanded for the earth to shake, dropping mud and other dry land particles which include sand, stones and others all over the water. The earth was covering the water. Myolie’s power failed to convert their battleground to ice. She concentrated once again and succeeded.
Raymond was now confused and he noticed that his mother, Queen Tavia, struggling to break free of the chains. He ran toward her and tried to break the chains with ice but to no avail. The chains seemed to be made of some heavy metal.
Leila was finally back in sight bit she looked unsure.
“People, Myolie’s power lies in changing the form of ice and freezing the water to ice! Be careful, Raymond!” Leila exclaimed.
Bosco was heading towards Raymond with ice thorns again. Raymond unknowingly asked for more powers to be bestowed upon him and he melted Bosco’s ice thorn from a distance away. “I think you all forgot that I held the powers of ice and water as well. Why would I be afraid of it?” Raymond sneered. The sacred flower Raymond was holding in his hands was melting as well. Both Bosco and Raymond were shocked at the sight. The water dripped down through Raymond’s fingers and onto the heavy metal chains locking Queen Tavia. It glowed and then disappeared seemingly into the chains. The chains slowly changed from silvery grey to brown and were loosening. Queen Tavia shook off the chains. The sacred flower has melted totally; it has diminished. It was gone. Queen Tavia ran to hug Raymond.
On the other side, Leila was commanding for winds against Myolie. Myolie could not withstand the strong and recurring winds in her direction and retreated. “Michelle, ask for the earth to fall! Ron, get Raymond and the Queen out!” Leila shouted loudly. The earth was trembling and falling. Bits and pieces of earth fell down, and then, a whole big mess of stones, sand and other land particles fell, crashing down on the ice. A small hurricane swept through the dungeon, impairing the visibility within; it was Leila’s doing. Ron was pulling the stunned Raymond and the exhilarated Queen Tavia out. Michelle ran to them and helped too. Myolie went to pull Bosco out too.
Outside the mansion, the people could feel some terrible battle going on. What they could not feel is that the battle was just under their feet not too far away. They hugged one another in a tighter embrace, consoling themselves. The old one was no longer mumbling as his voice was getting louder and louder; his words clearer and clearer. Soon, everybody outside Bosco’s mansion was chanting in unison. Their voices were becoming as one, their words loud and clear, and their unity getting stronger.
Just then, the sight of seven people came into the view of the people of Ice. The old one knelt down on his knees and greeted loudly, “Queen Tavia!” Everyone followed suit. Queen Tavia just raised her hand to signal for the people to get up on their feet. The people then finally had a clear sight of the seven people, all looking exhausted. Leila’s head was spinning hard and she seemed to see her dream repeating and repeating in her head. “Why would this dream come out at this time?” she wondered. She had felt suffocated at the sight of the increasing water and she just ran out. She moved back a few steps.
Michelle carried Queen Tavia with her hands and Raymond was holding onto Queen Tavia’s hand tightly. Michelle turned her eyes on Raymond and she could feel his happiness. She smiled slightly, not noticing that Raymond’s eyes were on her as well. Raymond had been thinking about Michelle and the short but precious times the two of them had spent together. He could never be as sure of his feelings ever. He was indeed in love. Catching a glimpse of his mother’s face, he smiled too. He has found out the reason to his survival finally. He had more than one time wondered about his birth and why he was sent to Black Moon. Though not all is clear but at least he had found out part of the truth and his mother, which was enough to make him contented.
Ron on the other hand was looking worriedly at Leila. That was the first and only time he noticed Leila’s expression changed. She had looked so unsure and confused when she reappeared in the dungeon. Now she was looking weary and her retreating steps even made him more worried and he moved swiftly to her side. He took her hand and rubbed her palm. She was so cold. He thought and had expected Leila to slap off his hand and ask him to leave her alone. However, Leila just fell into his arms, with her eyes closed. Ron then noticed about her long eyelashes and he shook that stupid thought off his head and knew that Leila was in a critical condition.
Myolie fixed her gaze on Bosco who was also worn out. Not only was he fatigued, his eyes expressed grief and anger. She raised her hand and stepped forward, preparing to launch another surprise attack on Raymond on the back but Bosco stopped her and pulled her into his embrace. “Forget about it. Both of us are tired and let them enjoy a short moment together first. It won’t last for long,” Bosco commented, using up more energy.
Without any hesitation, Ron swept Leila in his arms and carried her, running into the mansion. He knew Leila needed some help and definitely a good rest on a comfortable bed. Raymond and Michelle noticed Ron running with Leila in his arms, followed after anxiously. Queen Tavia went in as well. Bosco and Myolie asked the people to go back to their homes and declared that they will give an announcement later. However, one refused to leave and he went in with the seven.
Leila was breathing at a normal pace now but her mind was off elsewhere. She could see the scene again. A woman was in the water, powerless and there was the third being staring at her. The third being stepped out of ‘its’ hiding place, which was behind the woman in the water. The shadow of the third being was hidden among the dark shadows overcast by the tall trees behind. The winds blew strong and Leila thought she could feel the cold prickles against her naked skin. Then, mist covered her sight and she fluttered her eyelids. Her dream has ended and she woke up, finding herself in the cold room in she has been staying over for some time in Ice.
Then, her eyes scanned through the room and her gaze met the worried eyes of Ron’s. “Leila, are you alright?” Ron asked in concern. Leila just nodded her head and closed her eyes again. Her thoughts wandered off again. “Who was she? What was she doing in the water? Why is that dream haunting her? Is the dream still proposing revenge on someone to her or us there another hidden meaning behind the dream? Did she misunderstand the whole dream?”
Ron let a sigh slip out. He was glad that she was back to her indifferent self, not that he like her attitude that way, but it beats better than seeing her in a shattered state. His heart aches for her then but now he feels so relieved. He then wondered about Raymond and Michelle. The two of them were in another room with Queen Tavia, with the company of Bosco and Myolie and the old wise advisor.
“Mother,” Raymond called again, acting according to Queen Tavia’s request. Queen Tavia had yearned so much to find her long-lost son and to hear him call her “Mother”. Now she has got her wish fulfilled. She caressed her son’s cheek and scrutinized him. His facial features were totally identical to the King’s; the King whom she loved so much. Michelle stood by the side of the wise old man. His face was radiant as he caught sight of the Queen’s smile. Bosco held Myolie’s hand and the two of them stood afar in a corner of the room.
Bosco was thinking of something in his head.
His father was all he has left but his father treats him like an invisible being. His father would rather live alone, in isolation than to move in with Bosco to the mansion. Perhaps, he was feeling guilty and ashamed. Bosco had been thinking of so many ways to get his mother’s sympathy and attention since the day he knew that he had been born out of wedlock. He was ashamed but he yearns for the affection of his mother. However, his mother never looks at him in the eyes. Not even once; he recalled about how cold she treated him and his father. She had rejected the food taken to her by both the father and son. Later on, only Bosco was left to attend to his mother’s needs but she would just ignore him. Everything had been an accident but he did not take it lying down. He did not resign to it, he believed his mother will one day appreciate him and the two of them can spend happy times together. He did not mean to lock his mother; all he wants is just her affection and care.
That’s all.
He just wanted her to look at him normally in the eyes and acknowledge that he is her son. He just locked her up after finding the chains in the King’s room as he was in a state of confusion but afterwards, he himself do not know how to open the chains. Therefore, he just spread rumours that the Queen had been locked up after the shameful accident by the orders of the king who disappeared from Ice .Everyone who knew of the accident kept their mouths shut ever since the king has gone.
Myolie had helped him all along as the two had been together ever since they were young. Myolie had also helped him take care of his mother. Everything he has done has come to naught after Raymond’s sudden appearance. After all these efforts and trying his best to satisfy his mother’s needs, everything is just not as important compared to Raymond. Raymond. Raymond, Raymond, all her thoughts were only on him and in her eyes, there was only Raymond and never him.
Myolie caught sight of Bosco’s solemn eyes and knitted eyebrows. She understood his thoughts almost immediately. She then opened her palm and looked at it intently. She then diverted her gaze onto the happy mother and son.
This is her last resort.

Hellos. I noe I dun really update that frequently. Hahas. Sorry. I m currently tied down by projects. N I will b overseas frm 16th to 23rd. 6th, 7th, 10th & 24th I have to help out in an exhibition. 25th I have got a dinner somewhere. Hahas. Busy. But I will end their adventure on ice nxt chpt.
