“I’m sorry for attempting to hurt you, Queen Tavia. However, I wish to say something too. Queen Tavia, aren’t you sorry for what you did to Bosco?” Once the words were out, everyone turned their eyes on Myolie.
Bosco was stunned.
“Bosco has always been yearning for your affection. He would be very contented just to have you look into his eyes when he spoke to you. However, you just ignore him and his father neglects him in the same way. Do you know Bosco grew up on his own, with no parents to care for him, to love him? He has always been alone all these times, even when he is terribly scared or upset, he will put on a strong front and secretly hides himself in a corner in the middle of the night to cry. As a mother, you did not show him any care or any love but instead you hurt him, you ignore him, you treat him like nothing and you even called your own son a bastard. Which mother would do that to her son? Bosco never feel the warmth of family before. I am an orphan and that’s why I know his feelings he held deep within. When he locked you up accidentally, you scold him, you swear at him, but have you ever consider his feelings? After locking you up, he spent sleepless nights thinking and trying how to loosen the chains and let you go. His love runs so deep for you but what about you? How have you been treating him?” Myolie asked the Queen intently, tears in her eyes threatening to fall.
Bosco then knelt down beside Myolie and held her hand tightly. He was deeply touched by Myolie’s words and the two of them looked at each other affectionately.
“Sorry,” Queen Tavia mumbled weakly. She was shocked at Myolie’s words and those words struck the guilty cord in her. “Sorry,” she said once more, a tear rolling down her flushed cheeks. She then took out a shining blue necklace. The necklace was navy blue in colour and it is shimmering, the design of it antique but elegant. Queen Tavia patted Bosco on his shoulder, “Son, I am sorry.” Bosco looked up and he saw that his mother is finally willing to look at him in the eyes. “Mo...Mother...” he stammered while calling out the word “mother” with caution. Queen Tavia gave a smile. “Mother, please forgive Myolie. She was just trying to help me, she didn’t mean to…” Bosco was glad that his mother has finally accepted him but he was worried about Myolie’s harsh words and the failed attempt to hurt his mother. “I forgive her, and I hope you two can get married and then bear me a grandchild. I am getting on ages. I want to feel the warmth, love and happiness of being in a family.” Queen Tavia had finally thought through.
“What about Father?” Bosco asked turning his eyes towards the old wise advisor who had head hung low in embarrassment and shame.
Queen Tavia then said, “Chris, let’s forget everything and start life afresh. Shall we?” The old wise advisor then looked up, his tears on the verge, and he nodded his head profusely. Bosco and Myolie smiled happily, while Queen Tavia gestured for the astounded Raymond to come forward. All these truth about the parentage and the story of Bosco, Queen Tavia, Chris and everything are a bit too much out of the sudden.
Raymond glanced at Michelle who had quickly composed herself after getting a shock as well. The two then exchanged smiles, not only at the sight of reunion of the complete family, but also because they both need the smile as an encouragement, as a support.
Queen Tavia then gestured again for Raymond to go forward to her, Raymond looked at Michelle for a moment and Michelle’s reassuring eyes gave him the courage to go forward and called Queen Tavia, “Mother.”
Queen Tavia beamed with delight, smoothing Raymond’s hair. “See this?” Queen Tavia asked Raymond, with the blue necklace in her hands in front of Raymond’s eyes. Raymond nodded. Queen Tavia then explained to Raymond that the sacred flower that he had been holding onto tightly was actually just a scam and a test to find out the people who wanted to usurp the throne; it was just purely made of a special ice that could only melt when in contact with sweat and magic powers and the chains which Bosco had used to lock her were created with magic. Coincidentally, Raymond’s sweating palms made the sacred flower to melt and destroy the chains which can only be destroyed by the special ice. Everyone present in the room then fell into realization.
“This necklace I have been wearing protected me just now from the ice thorn as it is impenetrable.” Queen Tavia said, while Raymond’s eyes scrutinized the necklace and then his jaws drop open. The necklace was engraved with the same birthmark on his body. “This…This…” Raymond pointed to the necklace with his trembling finger; out of fear and anticipation. “This necklace is the real heirloom passed down by the King. It is to be passed down to the destined successor and I think that’s you,” Queen Tavia smiled, putting the necklace around Raymond’s neck with prudence. Raymond stared at the necklace, his fingers running through the rough surface of it. It lay on his chest peacefully for a moment and then he starts to feel to feel the intensifying heat from the necklace; it was burning him.
With a jerk, Raymond pulled the necklace off. Queen Tavia grimaced, her eyebrows knitted while Chris gasped. Bosco, Myolie and Michelle were unsure of the situation.
“This is not supposed to happen unless…” Queen Tavia’s words and her shaking voice could be heard clearly. “Bosco is the destined successor.” Chris finished off Queen Tavia’s sentence.
Raymond and Bosco exchanged glances and Raymond helped Bosco to put on the necklace. The necklace shone even brighter for a minute and its glow diminished. The necklace laid, cold as ice to Bosco. All eyes were on Bosco now. Out of the blue, the necklace jerked open and in it, a crumpled and folded piece of yellow paper fell out. Queen Tavia picked up the paper and opened it delicately. “It’s the king’s handwriting! Oh my …” Queen Tavia exclaimed.
The letter reads,
“Dear Queen Tavia,
By the time you have read this letter, I will be no longer by your side. Sorry for leaving you all alone on Ice and taking our beloved son away. After knowing that you’re pregnant with Chris’ child, I was furious. However, I understood your temperament and knew how you would treat Chris and your child whom I foreseen will be a son and a man who will grow up to be an impressive leader and a filial son. Chris is a wonderful and wise advisor. He has always been honest to me and after he confessed to me about his one night affair with you, I slapped him and started ignoring you. Sorry for that cold behaviour of mine.
I just want to say I love you, Tavia, with all my heart. Treat Chris and your son well. As for Raymond, I will be taking him to another place but don’t worry; I will teach him well and bring him back to see you. He has a birthmark which is shaped exactly like the engraving of this necklace. This birthmark is a representation of our love and Ice. I believe Raymond will be contented to just have this birthmark instead of the throne as I have decided that Raymond will not be the successor, I want Chris and your child to be the one to lead Ice. Raymond can be either the right hand of the future king or just be a wanderer as I have a premonition that he will be one.
I love you, Tavia. I really do.

Tears strolled down the cheeks of Queen Tavia. She hugged the letter close to her chest and cried hard. Raymond and Bosco went forward and hugged her.
The winds howled once again. The full moon hung high in the black night sky, spilling light all over Ice. People of Ice had gathered together in the mansion and were ready for the celebration. Smiles, grins were on the faces of the people of Ice; all were delightful and happy. Queen Tavia stepped out to meet the people, with Chris by her side, Raymond and Bosco behind, followed by Myolie and Michelle. Ron and Leila were on the normal ground with the rest of the people.
“Queen Tavia,” the people knelt down, greeting the Queen. Queen Tavia asked the people to rise. Queen Tavia’s hair was still neatly plaited, her gown blue and shining, with a gold crown on her head and her radiant smile on her rosy face, she appeared more youthful and seems to be in great happiness.
She cleared her throat and announced, “Today is an important day as I had a reunion with all my family members. I found my son, Raymond and my second son, Bosco. Chris is also my second husband now. The king is still in some other place and he is enjoying himself too. Firstly, I would like to declare that Bosco will be your king from tomorrow onwards.” The people cheered loudly.
Queen Tavia held her palm up, to signal the people to keep silent.
"Secondly, Bosco and Myolie are going to get married one week later. All of you will be invited. Thirdly, Raymond, my first son wants some of us or all of us to visit a planet named Black Moon where people are always in happiness, where smiles are found everywhere and also where beautiful flowers bloom, portraying a scenic landscape. Bosco and Myolie will be the first two to go there after their marriage and then they will come back here to share with us their experience and all of you will be having opportunities to go there too. Lastly, as for now, I want all of you to enjoy yourselves.” Queen Tavia stepped down the stairs and went around cheering with the people, enjoying herself.
Raymond congratulated Bosco and wished him eternal happiness with Myolie while Bosco gave him a friendly punch on his right arm, asking him to strive in order to get Michelle. Raymond revealed a smile. Ron is once again busying himself with food, while Michelle and Myolie chatted. Leila went out of the mansion and glanced at the moon. Her eyes gradually changed as the revengeful look in her eyes slowly vanished under the moonlight. “Now I must prepare myself for the dream. I must get its true meaning someday.” Leila said to herself, with determination but also weariness.
A new adventure awaits the four of them the next day.
