Ron turned to look at Leila, then back to Tong Ling.
The two of them were duplicates of each other, except for their eyes. If it was said that Leila’s eyes revealed nothing but gloom, then Tong Ling’s dark eyes revealed doom and the feeling of impending death.
“This will be your last ordeal. It will be best if you can survive through it. Leila, please follow me,” Ton Ling’s words sent a chill down the spines of the three except Leila. Leila just followed her twin into an abyss of darkness and disappeared within the sights of her friends. Ron had wanted to pull her back but it was too late.
“Where did that crazy Tong Lin take Leila to? This is driving me insane,” Ron could not find any trace of their goings and hence he buried his head in his hands. He had wanted to burn this whole place now but he could not do it. All his powers were gone. Raymond and Michelle could only pat him on his back.
A sudden fog engulfed them and the three of them were sent to beds in the hidden dungeons in Dark Oracles.
“Leila, welcome back home!” Tong Ling guided Leila to a place which was very familiar to her.
It was the sea that always appeared in her visions and the swaying trees behind.
“Reminded of your visions, don’t you? Want to know the truth? Step into the sea, naked, and you will be able to see clearly for yourself.” Tong Ling pushed Leila forward. Afterall, Tong Ling wanted revenge. She had been suffering from those past memories. It should be fair that her dearest twin, Leila, should also get a taste of it. In this way, Tong Ling felt less lonely.
Leila took a deep breath and removed her clothings. She stepped into sea, naked, daringly. She had always desired to know the truth.
“Finally,” she mumbled to herself.
Once she stepped into it, a surge of memories drowned her.
Now she could really witness the truth which was playing before her.
The woman naked in the sea, with her fragrant hair, was bathing herself. The trees behind rustled with the wind. The lady’s powers were seeping into the sea. She smiled at the thought of being ordinary, without any magical powers. She enjoyed this silent emptiness within her. Then suddenly, she felt a figure behind her, watching. She turned around but could only see shadows.
She was about to turn back to her original position when someone grabbed her by her shoulders and that the palm of that someone covered her mouth. Her eyes stared in horror. It was a naked man, grinning with evilness.
The whole event then unfolded just as expected, except for one fact. That woman looked exactly like Tong Ling and herself. That lady was full of anger after the man got what he was after – her body.
The next thing Leila saw was the crazy goddess with her long hair destroying the Black Moon and all the other planets with her strong powers. Her healing powers became destructive and hence all planets began to suffer and deteriorate. Flames became hotter and hotter and it made the king go berserk and corrupted. Raymond’s father, the same duplicate of Raymond, decided to give up Raymond and Queen Tavia to search for the source of these strange happenings. He managed to find the crazy but beautiful goddess in the end. However, at that point of time, two female babies were with her. Both of them had a birthmark on them, one of the symbol of death and one of a symbol of life.
Leila held her breath as the images continued playing.
Raymond’s father saw that the crazy goddess had even grabbed other innocent babies from the Golden Ray planet, Flames and his own planet, Ice. Raymond’s father saw his own son being hit by the crazy goddess and a scar appeared. His son was no longer just his son, but his son had received the powers from the goddess. He could not figure out what the goddess was doing.
Then, the next image showed the death of Raymond’s father and the crazy goddess. They got into a fight over Raymond and killed each other with all that they were left with – a broken life and their remaining powers.
There were five babies who witnessed the fight and who were wailing loudly. With all her remaining strength, the goddess threw four of the babies onto the planet she hated the most, the Black Moon. Only one baby was left in her own planet, the Dark Oracles.
Tears flowed down Leila’s cheeks.
The whole series of events was stirring up her feelings. It was too much for her to bear but she knew she had the responsibility to seek the truth and do something about it. Other planets may have started healing by them now or healed by the four of them, but Dark Oracles was just falling apart. Powers were becoming non-existent on this planet. It was part of the Goddess’s revenge plans and as well as a way to salvage the situation in the universe. She finally understood it all.
“What are we supposed to do?” Leila spoke up.
“Sacrifices need to be made. Life and death are predestined. Planets are on the extremes, to save the universe from being badly balanced, which will lead to self-destruction. Sacrifices need to be made. Powers may have to be given up. The Great Void may appear. Some people leave, and some people stay. An unknown strength is needed to save the whole universe, a strong bond will keep the universe together and sacrifices need to be made.” Tong Ling chanted the words that had been bugging her for life.
The twins looked at each other in the eyes. They knew exactly what sacrifices to be made. As for the strength and bond, they could not make it out yet.
“Just let me say goodbye first, will you?” Leila pleaded, her eyes revealing immense sadness for once. Tong Ling merely nodded her head.
The twins had shared the pain but the pain was going to be gone soon. The universe will be immensely relieved after the sacrifices were to be made.
“One more thing, Leila. This sea is known as the Sea for the Forgotten now, as for its name in the beautiful past, it was known as the Sea of Forgiveness. Maybe this is another link.” Tong Ling stated, her eyes revealing the same sadness as Leila.
“All this is finally going to be over,” Tong Ling mumbled.
The twins then disappeared in a fog and they were on their way to meet the three sleeping figures in the hidden dungeons …
