Tong Ling then tapped on the wall once. Ron and Leila were transported to the outside of the huge solid place which they had stepped in through the black hole.
When Ron opened his eyes, he felt immensely relieved as Leila was right in front of him. Then he hesitated again to call for her. Afterall, he was still unsure of whether the lady in front of him was Tong Ling or Leila.
“I am Leila,” Leila replied sadly. Even the man who confessed that he loved her was unable to recognize her.
“I am sorry,” Ron hugged Leila. “You two really look alike. I promise you that I will definitely recognize you the next time.”
“There is not much time for your promises, Ron.” Leila mumbled to herself, unhappiness once again drowning her.
“Let’s go somewhere,” Leila pulled Ron along.
Together, they found their way to the Sea for the Forgotten, previously known as the Sea of Forgiveness.
The dark waters of the sea made Ron shuddered, but Leila was dazed by the sight of it.
“Are you alright?” Ron caressed Leila’s cheek, revealing his concern towards her. Leila was touched and grateful towards Ron for his affection and everything, especially his love.
She nodded her head and then rested her head on Ron’s shoulder. “This sea is dark now, but it is going to change to its original beauty soon.” Leila commented.
“After all the sacrifices are made.” Leila continued to think silently. She could not bear to leave Ron just as she had just found out about her feelings towards him and the blossoming love between the two of them. She could not bear to part with her friend, Michelle and her brother, Raymond too. She wanted to see how the relationship between the two of them would progress too. They were so compatible. However, there was not much time left. She knew that Tong Ling had been suffering long enough and that she should end her burden as soon as possible.
A tear unknowingly rolled down her cheek.
Ron was immersed in the bliss with Leila resting on him that he could not sense Leila’s sadness.
“I have faith in your words that the sea will become beautiful again, glistening and cool clear water. The sea will become pretty, just like you.” Ron complimented, and turned around to see Leila sleeping.
Ron then gave a light peck on her cheek. “If only time could stop.”
Leila could not bring herself to open her eyes for fear of crying in front of Ron and also looking at Ron one more time. She was afraid that she would let her emotions get the better of her and she would forget about her responsibilities and Tong Ling.
After a few moments of bliss, Ron noticed the same black hole again. Without warning, the two of them were pulled in.
They were back in the huge solid place.
Raymond and Michelle were holding each other’s hands. Tong Ling was standing at another side solemnly.
“I am ready, Tong Ling.” Leila declared.
“Raymond and Michelle, I love the two of you. I really hope I could have more time to spend with you and watch the two of you being in love with each other. I wish the two of you happiness.” Leila hoped for the best for the couple.
“Leila, what are you saying?” Raymond asked, with a bewildered face.
“Leila, I finally understood my powers. It is healing powers; the powers of growth and renewal. I understand your departure. After you, I will do my job as well.” Michelle chanted. She had woken up before Raymond. When she saw Tong Ling, she understood the whole event. Punishing the elders, visiting the planets and everything.
The Goddess had passed powers to the five of them. She had received the most positive powers of all and she was destined to do the reconstruction. Everything was part of the Goddess’s plan. The Goddess had angrily changed planets and in turn leading to the universe being unbalanced. The man who caused her wrath had been related to the Elders and he had become the eagles under the possession of the remaining Elders on the Black Moon. The Goddess understood their greed and hence had intentionally thrown the babies onto the Black Moon.
“Thank you, Michelle.” Leila bowed.
“Ron, just remember that I love you. Take care,” Leila let go of Ron’s hand and moved hastily towards Tong Ling.
“Leila!” Raymond and Ron shouted in unison as they watched everything turn black.
Leila and Tong Ling were in the Sea for the Forgotten now.
Together, they chanted, “Sacrifices need to be made. Life and death are predestined. Planets are on the extremes, to save the universe from being badly balanced, which will lead to self-destruction. Sacrifices need to be made. Powers may have to be given up. The Great Void may appear. Some people leave, and some people stay. An unknown strength is needed to save the whole universe, a strong bond will keep the universe together and sacrifices need to be made. WE ARE THE SACRIFICES.”
Strong winds blew. The waves crashed. The trees behind swayed vigorously. The twins closed their eyes, for the next unknown moment. Everything was going to be over.
Leila allowed her tears to flow into the sea as she recalled about all that she loved deeply.
The sacrifices were made, with the twins dissolving into the Sea for the Forgotten. The strength needed to save the whole universe was present, in the symbol of a tear of love. The strong bond to keep the universe lay in the friendship and love shared between the foursome, Raymond, Ron, Michelle and Leila.
Raymond, Ron and Michelle opened their eyes to find themselves floating in vast emptiness. There was nothing around them, just plain emptiness. They were floating and moving in different directions but they were just faced with a single colour, white, which seemed to engulf them.
“You are in the light now.” a familiar voice once again rang out.
“Leila!” all three of them shouted.
“I am Leila Tong Ling. Michelle, you know your job. So you know your decision.” Leila stated strictly.
That scared Ron and Raymond. The Leila Tong Ling standing in front of them looked the same, but there were no expressions in her eyes. In addition, she was no longer in her usual black but white.
“I choose to stay.” Michelle declared while Leila Tong Ling nodded.
“What are you talking about?” Raymond and Ron were totally lost and confused.
“I will leave.” Leila Tong Ling made her decision.
