Sixteen years of sins…
All of them have grown up. Their names are Michelle, Raymond, Ron and Leila.
Michelle has been the princess to all the Elders but yet she cannot violate the rules. She is supposed to abide by the rules. Her lips never curve into a smile but yet deep in her heart, she desires to smile, to love and especially to be loved by the one she loves.
She never know whether he likes her but she knew that he treats her very well and since that accident she has been carrying a torch for him.
There is another him in her heart. He is always supporting and protecting her silently. She is grateful for that but the one she loves is not him.
Though she has been blessed with the magical powers with regards to the Earth, the Elders have been asking too much of her. “Create an earthquake!”, “Make the Earth crack!” All the Elders had “requested” for her to command the Earth but never once have the “requests” benefit the people.
Sins, Leila said to her once, all the four of them are committing sins. Evil sins. She promised herself that she shall amend all the rules one day.
All the rules. Soon. She could feel it.
She sat by the window of her room. Her room was golden yellow in colour, just like her birthmark. She touched the birthmark on the left side of her neck. Then she started recalling about that accident. That happened when the four of them were seven.
*FLASHBACK---
Running towards the Forest of Forgiveness, Michelle knew that she was lost. She was terribly afraid. She was playing with Ron and Raymond. She hoped that they could find her. She had been running and running.
The Forest of Forgiveness was scary to her. The Forest of Forgiveness was thick and impregnable and its blackness was terrifying. The outskirts of the forest were defended by a complicated system of thorns of all kinds, so hooked together and closely interlocked that there seems to be no way to break through it.
She sat down and huddled herself tightly. She was afraid. The Forest of Forgiveness was a sacred place and its access is forbidden. Yet she crashed into it without further thoughts. She was in deep trouble. No one is going to find her.
Then, miraculously, she heard shouts for her. The voice was familiar. She listened carefully. It was Ron. She then shouted her replies. Then she saw two shadows.
One was Raymond and the other was Ron.
Ron ran up to her and hugged her tightly. Michelle feels safe and secure in his little but strong arms. “Michelle, are you fine?” Ron asked in concern. She nodded her head. Then she shivered.
Ron turned behind. All the six Elders were coming in their direction. Raymond swallowed his breath.
To their surprise, the Elders said nothing but they just carried the three of them back.
Later, all three of them are supposed to kneel in front of the Elders. Ron spoke up, “It was my fault. I scared Michelle and she ran off. I didn’t stop her even when I saw her barging towards the Forest of Forgiveness. Raymond just followed me out of curiosity. I started everything.”
Michelle and Raymond looked at Ron. The Elders eyed Ron suspiciously.
Ron just gave a smirk, revealing no regrets.
“What is the big deal anyway?” Ron asked again. His naughty and cheeky self was back. The Elders were furious. One moment, he became tame and the other moment, he was the same bad boy again.
“You won’t be allowed dinner tonight. Go clean the house with Leila. NOW!” the Third Elder yelled.
Ron just ran away. Raymond and Michelle are both fine. They are not punished at all.
*End Of Flashback---
Michelle then walked to the mirror in her room.
Upon looking at her own reflection in the mirror, she touched herself. With long silky black hair, she has the perfect figure. The bright shiny eyes, soft lips, long legs and the curves, she is astoundingly beautiful. She has grown up.
An idea then flashed through her mind. She tried to fight the temptation but she failed.
She smiled, for the first time in her life. Her eyes seem to light up, even brighter than before. Her lips curved up into a bigger smile. She enjoyed smiling. As the saying goes, “forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest”. She feels it in her heart. To smile is a joy. It is sweet; sweeter than everything on the Black Moon.
“Knock, knock!” someone was banging on the door of her room.
Her smile disappears immediately and her two lips become sealed together. Her face was cold. No expressions at all.
It was the Second Elder at the door.
“Second Elder,” Michelle greeted politely. The Second Elder stepped in. “Michelle, you have been doing well. I am here to inform you that you are sixteen years old. It is time to let you go out. Not cooped in this room anymore.” The Second Elder announced.
Michelle let out a gasp but quickly calmed herself down.
“Surprised? Well, not only this, you are given a wish for all your achievements. You can make any wish you like. Anything you want. Secondly, the Elders have decided to send you out to conquer the other planets for us. According to the First Elder, there are another four planets. We will give you the details later. However, we will be holding a banquet tonight. That is also the time when we will grant your wish. Think about your wish and you will set off in another two days.” With that, the Second Elder walked out of the door.
Michelle bowed to bade him farewell. There is no doubt about what she will wish for.
Totally no doubt.
