The four eagles soared in the gloomy sky. A freezing cold wind blew across the Black Moon, forcing the fog to back away. The moon shone some light upon the planet. The people covered their eyes as they had not been exposed to light for centuries. Upon that juncture, the Six Elders arrived, together with the four youngsters, stepping behind them.
All the ten magical people were wearing cloaks. They were wearing thick long cloaks that covered their faces, revealing only their eyes. Leila was in her black cloak. Michelle was in her gold cloak, Ron in his red cloak and Raymond in his blue cloak. Their presence and the aura that surrounds them frightened the people of the Black Moon, including the Elders.
The Second Elder cleared his throat and ordered everyone to sit. He then briefly explained about the four of them and their mission. He also declared that for tonight, people can ignore the rules and have fun.
Silence overruled the planet.
Eyes then slowly turned upon the four. They are the four legendary gods. One man knelt down and kowtowed in their direction. Soon everyone followed. The four of them remained calm on the outside, though on the inside, they were impressed by themselves except for one – Leila. She knew that she did not deserve all these kowtows from the people. She is not worthy to be worshiped; she does not deserve such respect from the people.
She is just a murderer.
However, things are coming to an end soon, she told herself.
After tonight.
All the people then started to enjoy their feast in total silence. Though the Elders are obviously in a good mood, no one dares to violate the rules. They did not speak. They just ate and drank.
Meanwhile, Raymond was stealing glances at Michelle. He was thinking hard about his wish. “Should I make the wish?” he muttered. He bit his lower lip. Leila saw that and immediately knew what he was thinking. She leaned over to whisper into his ears. “Make the wish you really want. Don’t hesitate.” Raymond understood Leila’s meaning and nodded his head readily. He will make the wish. Ron on the other side was happily eating his food. He enjoyed savoring the pleasing taste of the food. Michelle was enjoying the sight whereby Ron acted like a greedy kid, eating non-stop. He even dirtied his face with all the food. Michelle brought her hand forward and wiped off the stains. Ron took a moment to look up and then continued eating. The Second Elder cleared his throat and Michelle withdrew her hand instantly. She lowered her head. Raymond knew he had to make the wish tonight. He must grab this opportunity.
After all the food had been eaten, the Elders announced that the four of them are allowed to make their wishes then.
Michelle was first.
She stepped forward.
“I wish to change all the rules of the Black Moon.” Her loud voice echoed through the Black Moon. Her voice showed her determination and her audacious character. The people and the Elders were dumbfounded at her wish. The First Elder regained his posture and allowed her to execute her wish.
Michelle then advanced with pride. She read out her ideal rules.
WELCOME TO THE BLACK MOON
RULES TO BE ABIDED
#1. Love between a man and woman can exist.
#2. Birth can occur.
#3. Everyone has the right to leave this planet, even without permission from the six Elders.
#4. No killing of one another is allowed.
#5. Physical contact between a man and a woman is allowed. However, this right should not be abused or to be misused. Women and men can then live together on any and every part of the Black Moon.
#6. A man and a woman can meet each other when they wish to or want to. The Elders have no right to control them.
#7. Rules are to be followed, not disrupted or disturbed.
#8. Everyone is supposed to be happy. Smiles are to be seen.
#9.There is no limit to the number of the people staying in the same house.
#10. Reflective objects can be used on this planet. Light is to be seen. There will be day and night.
#11. Everyone is permitted to visit the Grace Sea and the Forest of Forgiveness.
#12. Regardless of the weather changes, everyone can go outside their houses and participate in or organize any activities they like. It can be outdoors with no restrictions.
#13. The Crazy Frog is to be released, regaining its freedom. The Black Moon is to be beautiful, filled with all the green trees, brightly-coloured flowers, animals and creatures and the fragrance of all the living things.
Michelle let out a sigh of relief. Then she revealed her smile. It was the first smile everyone had seen. Stunned and amazed by her beautiful smile, almost at once, the people started smiling unknowingly, with the exception of the Elders and Leila. Raymond and Ron are both smiling too. Raymond was dazed at Michelle’s smile. It adds to her beauty. She became extraordinarily gorgeous at that moment. That was just the start of the effects of the wish.
The Black Moon then started shaking. Tall green trees sprouted out of nowhere. Flowers bloomed revealing red, yellow, pink and many more colours. Butterflies and dragonflies fluttered in the wind. The fog was gone, welcoming the brand new natural scenic beauty of the Black Moon. At that juncture, the people of the Black Moon started changing as well. The old or grayish hair of the people changed to dark brown or black. The wrinkles on their faces disappear. They were repossessing their youth and beauty.
The smiles on their faces grew even wider. People grinned. Michelle was exhilarated at the thrilling and delightful changes. Leila turned to look at the Elders. They were taken aback by Michelle’s powerful magical wish.
Leila smirked.
She knew that the Elders had done nothing to fulfill Michelle’s wish. It was Michelle’s doing. She has done it all by herself with the use of her magical powers hidden deep within herself, waiting to be exposed and to be explored. Ron accidentally caught Leila’s smirk and thought it was odd. However, he threw that thought away and admired Leila, with the smirk on her face. Leila then withdrew the smirk when she spotted Ron looking at her. He had caught her off guard. Her solemn face was once again put on. Ron turned his head back, with the smile still on his face. “She is adorable.” Ron thought. Meanwhile, Raymond’s eyes were glued to Michelle.
Michelle then stepped backwards. It is now Raymond’s turn to make his wish.
Raymond then stammered. “I wish… I wish. . .”
Everyone kept silent and turned their attention to Raymond.
Raymond then shouted out his wish. “I wish all the people on the Black Moon eternal happiness and that they can find their true loves, especially Michelle and Leila. Also, there will always be hope in Black Moon.”
Everyone burst into applause for Raymond. Leila smiled, knowing that Raymond meant her good but she knew inside that Raymond is using her as a shield to avoid suspicion and anticipation. Michelle was touched by Raymond’s words, but at the same time, amused by it. Raymond had excluded Ron. She peeked at Ron who was smiling. “That is odd.” Michelle deemed.
Ron was actually smiling because of Leila. She has finally smiled. Ron had waited to see her smile for a very long time. Leila’s smile was truly from her heart. In his mind, he understood Raymond’s words and he knew that Leila was smiling because of Raymond. However, Ron told himself that he is going to bring Leila greater joy later.
Ron is next.
“I wish for another three wishes that will definitely come true, based solely on my own powers, with absolutely no help from the Elders.” He spoke confidently. The Elders just nodded their heads. Leila’s impression of Ron then changed again. She waited patiently for Ron to speak. Michelle and Raymond on the other hand were having the same anticipation for Ron’s three wishes.
“My first wish will be that I will always have food to eat.”
Everyone was silent, all of a sudden; they burst into giggles and roars of laughter.
“My second wish will be dedicated to my most respected Elders.” Ron’s words were filled with sarcasm.
“They shall suffer and get punished for all the torments they gave me.” Ron’s eyes were turning into glaring red. He raised his hands and summoned for fire. The strong fire surrounded the Elders, dancing in flames. The wind suddenly grew stronger. It was Leila. She was helping Ron. Raymond and Michelle, together with the people on Black Moon, were astounded. Raymond then summoned the power of water and tried to put off the fire. However, Leila used her powers of air to convert the water into ice. Raymond stared at Leila but Leila ignored him.
The Elders were now trapped in cold fire. They were experiencing both the extreme temperatures. Their faces become twisted as they tried to withstand the freezing cold and the burning hot sensation. They could not even shout for help. Michelle was lost and hence she did nothing.
“People, please do not worry. The Elders will not die. Remember that they have amazingly powerful magical powers.” Ron declared with dripping sarcasm.
“I shall continue. My third wish will be dedicated to my most beloved woman.” Ron said. Once again, all the attention was on him. He advanced towards Leila and counted three, two, one with his fingers. Everyone was waiting.
He took off the piece of cloth from the cloak that covered the lower part of her face. He pressed his lips against hers. Leila was astonished. At the same time, the people clapped and cheered in happiness. Michelle’s heart broke and shattered at that sight. Raymond felt the same hurt as he looked at Michelle. Ron looked into Leila’s eyes. He could feel that she is feeling sorry for Michelle. Ron apologized to Michelle in his heart. He had to make things clear. Leila bit his lips and Ron pulled away immediately.
“It’s my turn now.” Leila announced clearly.
Her petite figure at that time then seems to enlarge.
“I wish. No, this is not a wish. The Elders had lied to all of you. They had no powers at all. Therefore, they cannot withstand our powers. They can’t resist. All of you had witnessed that.” Leila said, pointing her finger towards the Elders stuck inside the cold fire.
“They will not die. They shall suffer till the four of us are done with our visits to the other four planets. They shall not be saved or pardoned from the punishment we gave them. No one is to help them. Otherwise the people who helped them will suffer with them.” A cold wind blew. The four eagles soared around the cold fire, pecking at it. Then unexpectedly, the cold fire swallowed them and the eagles were inside with the Elders. The eagles made noises. Then they were silent. Dropping onto the ground, they turned to ashes.
The people turned their attention to Leila. They respected her and feared her.
“I want to speak out the truth. Those in the past who had violated the rules were killed and burnt to ashes. They did not disappear. They were killed by the Elders and me.”
Almost at once, all the people stopped breathing. They withdrew their breaths and let it out slowly.
Leila then bowed. “I am sorry.” She apologized sincerely.
“However, I am going to repay and atone for my mistakes. The four of us shall set out to the other planets without further ado. We will bring in more people to live in Black Moon. We will create more joy for Black Moon. Until then, the Elders will be trapped inside the cold fire.” Leila announced and walked off.
She has achieved the triumph. She has had the last laugh. She was the victor.
The people then cheered in unison. The truth was revealed.
Then the first streak of daylight spread. It is the first morning for Black Moon.
Leila, Ron, Raymond and Michelle had packed their things. They are ready for the future.
