Angel, Danji, Ryina and Melody sat in Jayden's hospital room. Jayden had been asleep for the past three days. Angel turned and stood up when she heard someone enter the room.
"TOP!" She called, running over to him, wrapping her arms around him tightly. He held her to his chest tightly and kissed the top of her head. Gd came strolling in, looking at his feet as he made his way to where the girls were.
"How is she?" He asked. Danji shook her head. Jaejoong came walking in with Onew and Eunhyuk right behind him, each of them heading straight for their girls.
"Ryina, I'm sorry but we have to go soon" Eunhyuk whispered quietly. She nodded and turned to the girls.
"Where are you going?" Danji asked, pulling away from Onew.
"I have an audition" Ryina mumbled shyly.
"Audition?" Angel asked with a smile. Ryina nodded.
"Eunhyuk got me an audition with SM entertainment" She said, looking up at him. Everyone's attention turned to the door when they heard GD speak up.
"Junsu" GD said, sounding surprised and sad at the same time. Junsu gave him a small, sad smile as he walked past him.
"well, we should get going" Eunhyuk said. Ryina nodded, following him out. TOP laced his fingers with Angel.
"We should go too. Your dongsaengs are getting out of school soon" Angel nodded. Onew and Danji followed Angel and TOP. Melody gave Junsu a small hug before walking out of the room silently, Jaejoong shuffling along behind her. GD patted Junsu on the shoulder, and tried to give him a smile, but it ended up looking really awkward.
GD shut the door behind him, leaving Junsu and the sleeping Jayden alone. He stared at her pained facial expression. His hand grazed the side of her paled face gently as he began thinking how unfair it was that the other guys had gotten to hold and kiss their lovers, yet he was unable to. He shook the selfish thoughts away and laid next to Jayden on the hospital bed.
Junsu's mind began to wander yet again as he stared at her face. She looked so much like her little sister. He felt tears sting the corner of his eyes thinking about how he was going to tell Jayden about her sister. As if his thoughts had somehow made their way into her head, she open her eyes. Junsu jolted up from the bed, looking down at her shocked, excited, relieved.
"How's Kaori?" Jayden rasped out. The smile that graced Junsu's lips faded. Jayden waited for an answer, but nothing came from him. "Junsu, please tell me" She whispered. Junsu sat next to her once more and pulled her into his chest. He didn't know any other way to say it.
"I talked with her last night" he started. Jayden smiled lightly. "She fell asleep after I sang to her but..."His voice trailed off. Jayden tried to pull away from him. She wanted to see the expression on his face but Junsu only held her tighter. "She didn't wake up this morning" Tears flowed from her dark eyes almost immediately. She squeezed Junsu as hard as she could, her tears staining his shirt.
"N-no. Please tell me she's awake now. Please Junsu" She begged as she finally pulled away from him. Her reddened eyes burned deeply into his. Junsu looked down. Jayden pushed him away from her and stood from the bed. Her legs gave way from under her as she stood. Junsu grabbed her before she fell completely to the floor. Her arms wrapped tightly around his waist. She rested her head on his stomach. Her tears pouring out from her eyes like a waterfall. He gently lifted her, placing her back onto the bed. Just then, a doctor came into the room.
"I need to speak with you please" He said, looking straight at Junsu. He followed the doctor out to the main hall.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Jayden is suffering from a common genetic disorder known as Cystic Fibrosis"
"She'll be fine" Junsu assumed. The doctor shook his head.
"She's been so busy paying for the treatment of her sister, that she hasn't had any kind of treatment for this at all. Because it's been untreated for this long,it's become more advanced. We could give her treatments, but it wouldn't do much good" Junsu felt his heart fill with anger and despair.
"H-how long does she have?" A part of him didn't want to know, but he had to.
"With medication, she could last as long as 3 weeks" Upon hearing this, Junsu felt his chest tighten. He looked back into the room. Jayden was looking around as if she couldn't hear anything, but he knew that she could.
[3 weeks later]
Junsu stared up at the cloudy sky. It wasn't raining, but it looked as if it were going to. He let out a sarcastic laugh at the awkward feeling of how the day reminded him of a scene from a drama he could find on TV. His gaze landed on the group of girls whom happened to be the closest people to Jayden in the world. He was envious of them. He wanted to be that close to her. He wanted to her like they had known her, but he was thankful that he had met her. He just wished that he had met her a few years earlier.
"Junsu, we're going now" Danji said with a somber tone. He nodded.
"I'll just stay here a bit" He replied, feeling a wet drop hit the side of his face, next to his eye. The raindrop slid down his cheek, making it appear as if he was crying. Danji nodded, walking away with Ryina, Melody and Angel. He turned back to the two matching gravestones. The Harper sisters were buried next to each other.
As the rain began to beat down harder, he felt a pain running throughout his body. It was as if each raindrop were a small needle, sinking into his body; pricking the very spots that would warm up and tingle at the sight of the woman he adored.
His heart was aching.
For her warmth.
For her touch.
For her love.
Junsu slumped to the ground, not caring that his suit was becoming stained with mud and grass. He leaned his back against Jayden's gravestone and closed his eyes.
