Maki sat at the edge of the bed, clutching her bag tightly. She was terrified at the uncertainties waiting for her beyond the hospital room's door. Today was the day she could be discharged, but she did not know whether she should feel happy or otherwise.
-------
Kama paused outside Maki's room. He was sorry for what Maki went through. If not for him, she would still be a healthy young girl with a bright future. Bright... Kame gave a sarcastic laugh, if it was all fate, God must be playing a trick on them.
Kame's mind floated to the day Jin told him of Maki's situation.
*FLASHBACK*
"So will she regain her eyesight?" Kame asked.
Jin placed Maki's XRAY on the board. He pointed to a shadow on the XRAY, "We have found a blood clot pressing on her optic nerve. I suppose that is the reason why she is not able to see anymore. I wouldn't recommend an operation to remove the blood clot as it is much to risky. All we can do now, is to hope and wait for the blood clot to disperse." Jin answered.
"How long do you think it would take?" Kame asked again.
"I really don't know. It could take a weeks or months. Or she may not regain her eyesight at all."
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Kame turned the doorknob and entered the room. He saw Maki sitting as still as a statue on the bed.
Maki heard the door open and asked, "Is that Kame?"
"Yea, are you ready?" Kame asked.
Maki nodded and stood up from the bed. She took a step forward cautiously. Kame rushed up to her and took her bag over before holding on to her arm.
When Kame took the bag away from Maki, she suddenly felt lost. As if her safety buoy was taken away, she trembled slightly.
"Let's go," Kame said, as he led her out of the room and out of the hospital.

"Maki," she called. Then she remember Kame was around and quickly changed what she said, "Young Mistress, welcome home. I'll bring you to your room." For convenience sake, Maki's room had been changed to the 1st floor.
Maki smiled and replied, "Thank you, Yui." Kame trailed behind both of them.
When Maki reach the front door, she tripped over the ledge. Fortunately, Yui was holding on to her. "Are you alright?" Yui asked, concerned.
Maki nodded. But inside, she was really afraid she might never be able to step beyond these doors once she's inside.
