"What's wrong?" Maki asked, sensing something was amiss.
"My bike's gone," Yamapi answered.
"Are you sure you left it here?"
"I'm quite sure," Yamapi turned and saw Maki's worried face. "Don't worry, I remember seeing a bus-stop when I was driving here. We can get on a bus to get home."
Yamapi held Maki by her wrist and slowly guided her towards the direction they came from. After walking for amost half an hour, they finally reached the bus stop that Yamapi saw. However, on a closer look Yamapi realised that the bus stop had been abondoned for awhile now. Then he noticed Maki's hands shivering, he turned to see her pale face under the moonlight. Suddenly, Maki's body fell limp and she collapsed into Yamapi's arms.
"Maki?" Yamapi called out as he shook her softly. He noticed that Maki was perspiring furiously. He placed his palm on her forehead and found that she was having a high fever. He quickly got Maki on his back and ran as fast as he could towards the unknown. He did not know how far he had to run to reach salvation but that was the only thing he thought of. Facing Maki's pale face his mind went blank.
After what seems like forever, he finally saw a small house. When he reached the house, he knocked on the door and an old lady answered the door.
"My friend's having a high fever. Could we spend a night at your house?" Yamapi panted. The old lady squinted at Maki before nodding her head and opened the door to let them in.
Yamapi placed Maki down carefully on the bed. Her clothes were still drenched and she was shivering madly.
Yamapi turned around and found the old lady standing at the door. "Do you have any dry clothes?" Yamapi asked.
The old lady nodded and raised her trembling hands to point at the wardrobe in a corner. Yamapi immediately rushed to the wardrobe and took out a set of dry clothes then rushed back to Maki's side. He wanted to ask the old lady to help Maki changed out of her wet clothes but the old lady looked as though she even had difficulty walking, what more help someone else change clothes.
He started to unbutton Maki's shirt...
He took care of Maki all night, staying by her side without leaving an inch except when he's changing the basin of water. After Maki's fever had finally went down, Yamapi remained by her side, holding her hands tightly in his.

It was that familiar feeling Maki had felt somewhere. She tried to recall when did she feel that way. It was some time not long ago, she was also lying down and that someone was holding on to her hands. It was the feeling of safety she wanted to hold on to but had failed back at the hospital. She had to find out who he was.
Maki gradually opened her eyes as she found a blurred familiar figure sleeping next to the bed. She quickly shut her eyes again at the sudden light that entered her eyes. She tried opening her eyes again this time images started to form more clearly and she could see who that familiar figure was as his face slowly came into sight.

"Yamapi... it was him?" Maki whispered softly.
Yamapi heard Maki's voice and woke up. He blinked a few times before finally realising that Maki was staring straight at him. "You're awake?"
Maki nodded, her gaze never lifted from Yamapi's face.
Yamapi found it odd, "Maki-chan... can you see me?"
