"Yui, how many times have I told you not to call me Young Mistress.." Maki slowly got out of bed and turned to face a total stranger. "Where's Yui?"
"She's been assigned to wait on Second Young Master. From now one, I'll be your personal assistant." the unfamiliar girl explained.
"Why the sudden change?" Maki asked.
"I don't know the details either, Young mistress. I've just been told to wait on you." the newcomer replied.
Maki was confused. All along, Yui had waited on her and they had even become best friends. Now that Yui's gone, Maki feels a little lonely. She thought maybe Mariko thought that both of them were too close that's why the change. She shrugged her shoulders and went to get ready for breakfast. Yui was still in the same house, it's just a change of job.

"Second young master..." Yui called softly. She was the first person in the house to serve Yamapi, so there were nobody to guide her along. Seeing no reply from the sleeping figure on the bed, Yui tried again, "Second young master..."
Yamapi thought he was having hallucinations. Why would there be a girl voice in his room? Nobody every comes in, except that time when Maki came. He smiled at the memory and ignored the voice. Then it came again, this time louder and in a firmer voice. He sat up in his bed abruptly and saw Yui. 'Isn't she the girl who's waiting on Maki?' he thought. 'What's she doing here?'
"Did Maki send you here?" he asked. He remembered lying in Maki's arms the day before. After which, Maki had not spoken a word to him, did she send this girl to tell him that they should keep a distance from each other now? His heart ached at the thought of being away from Maki. Especially after what happened between them the day before. He felt as though he would die if Maki were to leave him. Now, he wasn't even sure if he did the right thing in striking that deal with Tetsu. But if he did not, he would have to watch as she suffered and that would be a fate worse than death to him.
"No Second Young Master, I was assigned to wait on you."
"How about Maki?" his whole mind was on Maki now.
"Someone else will be assigned to her." Yui replied.
Yamapi frowned. What was that Mariko up to? He has just gotten out of bed and his head was still a blur. For now, he shall just go along with whatever Mariko is planning. He'll deal with this when he's in better condition.

When Yamapi reached the breakfast table, everyone was seated there, including Maki. He took a glance at her and she looked away as if afraid to meet his eyes. He sat in a empty chair and Mariko grunted as if something unpleasant had just soiled her possession.
"Everyone is here so let's begin," Tetsu said.
"Hold on, I have something to ask Mariko. What is up with the transfer?" Yamapi asked.
Mariko ignored his question. Instead Tetsu replied, "that was my idea. Your status is different now. You need someone to wait on you.
"But why her? She's been waiting on Maki all along."
"I don't see why not. There's nothing unusual about it. I don't see what the fuss is about. Rather than talking about unimportant stuff, I have an announcement to make. There is going to be a banquet tomorrow. I'm going to introduce Yamapi formally to the gang. Everyone must turn up, and that includes you, Kame. You'll have to be there with Maki." Even though the last sentence was directed to Kame, Tetsu was looking out for Yamapi's reaction. To his relief, Yamapi had no special expression.

*FLASHBACK*
"I followed Second Young Master by your order, Sir. But I don't know if I should say this..." a man reported to Tetsu.
"Report everything you saw. Otherwise, what's the use of sending you to tail him." Tetsu demanded.
"Second Young Master went to the hospital today, and young mistress was there too..." the man was still apprehensive in reporting what happened at the hospital.
"What happened." Tetsu demanded again.
"They met each other... and they seem to be quite intimate..."
Tetsu remained silent for a moment then spoke again, "Bring me the list of maids in this house.

"Here's the list Sir."
Tetsu took over the list and scanned through. He stopped at a page and read the name outloud, "Yui Ichikawa. She's currently waiting on Maki. How's their relationship like?"
"They're quite close, I've heard."
"Transfer her over to wait on Second Young Master."
"Eh?"
"Do it now. I don't want any weird scandals to get around the gang. Not when Yamapi is still building his reputation. Even though he succeeded in his first assignment, gang members still generally respect Kame more. Yamapi will be doomed if he's rumored to be with Kame's wife. He'll lose all respect. I have to salvage this situation. Yui shall be my best checker. And remember to keep your mouth shut on this matter. You won't want to know the consequences if this matter gets out." Tetsu threatened. He took a cigar in his mouth and rubbed his temples. He didn't know if it was right to get Maki to marry Kame. Indeed, he got the successor he needed because of her but if he lost this successor, he had a feeling it would be because of her too. He can't possibly let that happen.
