Pi scanned the place for a certain someone. 'She's not here yet.' he thought.
The man Tetsu was introducing him to now was the one in charge of clearstream. He was a grey man, neither white nor black. He has a legal bank that cleans the money acquired through illegal means. He was one of the many who was indebted to Tetsu. 20 years ago, he was jailed for embezzlement, after which he was unable to find a job. His family was falling into pieces until Tetsu gave him a job in the bank and with his "expertise" he was able to evade detection from the police with a team he formed from those similar to him. The man took a good look at Yamapi and gave a genuine smile as he rotated the wine glass in his hand to warm the red wine in it. "A very promising young man. He's your son after all and I expect no less than success from him." he told Tetsu then turned to Pi and said, "I believe you'll be able to live up to your father's expectations. I've heard of your first successful assignment. We'll meet again... By the way, that's a pretty date you've got there."
Pi looked over to the girl standing beside him. "Thank you," he said, unsure whether it was meant for the former or latter compliment. "This is Yui." he introduced. For some reason, Tetsu had arranged for her to be his date.
Yui smiled as a friendly gesture.
"Well I'll see you around then, Shiraishi" Tetsu said and brought Pi to the next important person.

Maki sat in Kame's car as they neared their destination. Maki stared out of the window at the grandeour of the hotel where the banquet was held. Lights from the chandelier filtered out through the full-length window illuminating the entrance to the hotel. As the reach the entrance, a guard dressed in smart uniform walked towards the car and opened the door on Maki's side, another walked towards Kame's side and did the same. Kame stepped out of his car and tossed the car keys to the one who opened his door. He walked over to Maki's side and offered his hand to help her out of the car.

"Kame's here..." someone whispered, then another and soon everyone in the room had fixed their eyes on the two figures that stood at the entrance to the ballroom.
"Who's the girl beside him?" someone asked.
"I think she's his wife.." someone who had attended their 'wedding' answered.
"She's pretty..."
Maki was dressed in a little black dress matched with an intricate diamond necklace and a matching pair of earrings. Her hair was tied up with a few locks of hair carefully curled falling on the sides of her face.
"She looks really pretty today," Yui said to Pi.
Pi just stared on at Maki. When she entered the room, it was like the air had been sucked away. She looked so totally stunning it took his breath away. He could feel their distance closing as Kame and her walked towards them.
"You're finally here. We'll start then." Tetsu said and walked towards the stage.
Kame and Maki trailed behind. Pi was still in silence as he stared behind Maki. Yui gave him a light tug when she saw that he was lost in his own world. Yamapi gathered his senses and started to walk towards the stage as well.
Tetsu stood before the crowd and immediately caught their attention.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, and brothers who have stood by me. Today, I stand before you with a group of young people. I have to admit that age has caught up with me and it is the time of the new age. I am honored to have 2 capable sons. Kame, as most of you here would have known, has decided to pursue his passion in the medical area and as a father I wish only the best for him. Yamapi is my younger son and he is now helping me in the organization matters. I believe in his abilities and I hope that all of you here would assist him in future. As for now, I shall give the first dance to my eldest son, Kame, and his wife, Maki. Enjoy yourselves and cheers!" Tetsu ended his speech and the light dimmed as a beam of light shot towards the dance floor.
Kame led Maki towards the dance floor and started the first dance. After awhile, people started joining in the dance.

Maki didn't like the attention she was getting, as Kame's wife. She looked over to Pi's side. He seemed to be busy with his matters. Her suspicions had been confirmed. He was indeed working for Tetsu.
She was standing by the balcony to avoid the stares she had been getting ever since she arrived. Kame had considerately offered to get her some food as he sensed her discomfort.
"Hi.." a voice rang behind Maki. She turned to meet an unfamiliar man. But she had this strange feeling that she had seen him somewhere.
"Hello.." Maki greeted.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Shun Oguri. It's a pleasure to meet you." he smiled and took up her hand as he planted a kiss on her hand.

Pi stole a glance over at Maki. He was shocked beyond words as he saw Shun approaching her. Then, he felt like a volcano just erupted in him when Shun kissed her hands. He stormed towards them, forgetting all about Yui.
Yui looked on as Pi walked towards Maki, feeling a sense of dejectedness. But she followed behind nonetheless.

Kame reached Maki before Pi did. "It's been quite some time, Shun. If you don't mind," Kame took over Maki's hands.
"Yea, it's been a long time. I missed the days with you around." Kame sensed the sarcasm in Shun's words. "But it seems that you are enjoying life outside the gang... with your pretty wife. No wonder you seem to have forgotten what happened some years back," as he gave Maki yet another smile.
Kame's face darkened at the last sentence and Maki wondered why.. "I could never match up to all your plots then... I hope you're still enjoying yourself plotting and scheming." Kame shot Shun a reply.
Shun gave a hearty laugh, "Don't worry, your brother is good competition."
Pi arrived at the scene, "Talking about me?"
"Ah, speak of the devil!"
Maki looked on at 3 guys before her, one her husband, one an unfamiliar guy and one... she had special feelings for.
