"Me neither," Kame answered.
"The day she died… I met her." Maki continued. Kame looked over to Maki briefly before turning his eyes back on the road. "She was going to look for you."
"She hated me till her last breath." Kame said.
Maki’s eyes widened at his words, "That’s really mean…"
"Sorry?" Kame didn’t quite catch what Maki said.
"She loved you. Even though she told me you betrayed her, but that day before she died, she was going to tell you she forgave you. She loved you so much and yet you don’t understand how she felt. That’s really mean…"
Kame stepped on the brakes as the car skidded to a halt. "She was going to forgive me?" Kame mumbled in a hardly audible voice.
"I can still remember that day she told me excitedly that she had straightened out her thoughts and was going to look for you to tell you that she would give everything up as long as you are willing to take her away, she’ll give everything up to follow you. But…"
"But?" Kame interrupted.
"She received an anonymous call. Her face suddenly turned pale and she rushed off. That was the last I saw of her."
"Anonymous call…" Kame repeated as he sank deep in thought. That days events came flooding back again.
"Please don't hurt my father!" Erika cried.
He had not thought much that day, everything happened so quickly. But now that he thought of it, what was Erika doing there on that day, and why did Kuma appear there too?

Pi was taking a cold shower, hoping that the coldness of the water would help him have a clearer picture of the whole situation. So far, he had only thought of helping Maki leave this household. Yet he had no plans whatsoever of letting her leave him forever. If this goes on, Maki might never cross his path ever again.
He needed to rethink his plans.

As he walked out of the bathroom, he found Yui waiting for him outside. "Old master is asking for you," she said.
Pi nodded to indicate that he heard her.

As Pi walked towards Tetsu’s study room, he saw Kame and Maki coming in through the main door, together. His eyes narrowed and his body became tense. 'When were they so close?' he thought. Somehow that thought turned into a weapon, stabbing at his heart. He was jealous, and he wasn’t denying it.
Their eyes met for a brief moment, Pi and Maki. But Maki turned away almost immediately and Pi felt like he was on fire. She was suppose to be here right beside him, that was the picture had in mind everyday, every night.
He swerved and marched rapidly towards Tetsu’s study room. As he barged in, he announced, "There’s a change in the deal."
