However on the fourth day, she managed to get permission from Mariko to visit her mother in the hospital, hence she missed bringing a meal to him.

Yamapi looked at the digital clock on his bedside table. Usually Maki would have brought his meal in already, but there was no sign of her today. He sat up in his bed and frowned. "If she was going to care for me, she should not stop halfway." he thought.
With that he got out of bed and strode out of his room, for the first time since he moved into this house. He was unfamiliar with the structure of the house, so he just went wherever his leg took him. Then he saw a maid walking past and he immediately called for her, "Hey you!"
The girl turned around and saw him, but instead of stopping, the girl continued walking at a faster pace. Yamapi ran up to her and stopped her. "Didn't you hear me calling you."
The girl remained silent.
He continued with his questions, "where is..." then he realised he did not know her name, "...young mistress?"
"She's out," the girl replied and immediately turned to walk off again.
"Wait," Yamapi held on to the girl. "I'm not finished yet. Where did she go?"
"She's visiting her mother at the hospital."
"Which hospital"
"Saiyou Grand Hospital."
Just then a woman in business suit came in and slapped the girl, "Yui, do you know who you're talking to. Don't you know you're not supposed to do so."
"I'm sorry but..." Yui tried to explain.
The woman raised her hand again, attempting to slap Yui again. This time, she was stopped by Yamapi.
"It's none of her business, I approached her first. If you want to find fault with anyone, let it be me." Yamapi said. Her grip on the woman getting stronger as the woman tried to wrench her hand free.
The woman turned to Yui and said, "Go back to do your work, since you're still new here, I'll let this pass. In future, stick to doing your chores and don't do other unnecessary things."
After Yui had gone off, Yamapi released the woman's hand. Then he went back to his room, where he climbed out through the window.

"Okasan, sorry for not visiting you in a long while. The shop has had booming business these few days. I just managed to free myself today." Maki told her mother.
"There's no need to visit me if you're busy. I know it must be hard on you to have to pay the hospital bills. But I'm fine already, I really don't need to stay in the hospital any longer. I'm healthy enough to go home."
"Okasan, don't worry about the hospital bills, it's still well within my means. The doctor said you have to rest well."
"Maki, you look tired. Are you alright? If not, just close the store for a few days. Don't push yourself too hard."
"I'm fine, okasan. Don't worry too much. I'll peel an apple for you. Hold on."
Maki exited from the room and was shocked to find Yamapi standing outside the room.
"What are you doing here?" Maki asked.
"Why is your mother in the hospital?" Yamapi ignored her question.
"Severe anaemia, but she's fine now. But more importantly, what are you doing here? Did you hurt yourself again?"
"No, I was just hungry. You didn't send me my meal today."
"I'm sorry... I had to visit my mother today."
"I'm hungry, let's go eat," with that, he pulled Maki behind him.
