At times she was bummed that she could no longer dress as a girl even when she wasn’t working. She had to be a boy at all times. She stopped outside of a shop and looked inside as she scratched at the side of her neck. There were racks of Lucky jeans inside and she just stared at them longingly. They had been paid a hefty amount for their success at the show and she wanted to spend it, but going into the store to buy her favorite pair of jeans made her sad in a way. She would have to buy the men’s jeans and not the women’s which made her look good.
Giggling could be heard from her side and she looked over, her blue eyes landing on a pair of girls standing slightly behind her. They were whispering and blushing. Tyler lifted one of her dark brows and waved at the strange girls making them giggle even more. Tyler cleared her throat and watched them walk away. What the hell was that all about?
“I think they like you,” Tyler heard a voice say from behind her. She turned and saw a guy standing behind her. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a white and blue t-shirt. His black hair was under a black beanie and he had a pair of square spectacles on.
“Isn’t dangerous for you to be walking around like this?” She asked him. Wasn’t he worried that he would get attacked by fan girls?
“Well I figured that you can protect me from them since you owe me and everything,” Kame said with a laugh. Tyler just looked at him for a moment. “Besides it looks like the girls like you anyway.”
“What no way, they can’t like me,” Tyler said a little panicked.
“Would you rather it be guys?” Kame asked as he arched his brow at her. She was taken aback for a moment and then her blue eyes went wide.
“No way man, that’s gross,” Tyler said in the manliest voice she could muster at that moment. Kame let out a laugh before he looked away at some random crowd. He noticed a tinge of pink on Tyler’s face, but let it pass. The guy could like whoever he liked, he didn’t care.
“Well since were both here, want to hang out?” Kame asked Tyler suddenly. A lot of things ran through her head at that moment and they were all reasons not to hang with him. She needed to get pants and what if he just paid too close attention to the details.
“Sure, I was just going to get some pants,” Tyler said pointing to the Lucky store behind them with her thumb.
“Cool,” Kame said as he walked ahead of her and into the store. She watched him and sighed. He was looking through a rack of pants, his brown eyes scanning for something that would fit him. He looked cute as he did it, unaware of the girls at the counter staring at him. Tyler shook her head violently and smacked her cheek lightly. She wasn’t supposed to be thinking like that. She was not supposed to think Kame was attractive it would just complicate things. Kame looked over at her and then back down at the pants. “Are you just going to stand there all day or what?”
“My bad,” Tyler said quickly as she made her way into the store. She really wanted to kick herself for sounding so stupid. As she flipped through the jeans she could sense Kame there that whole time. His presence seemed so big, like he took up a lot of space. She smiled to herself as she thought about it. She didn’t mind sharing space with him.
“What?” Kame asked suddenly. Tyler didn’t look up at him when she answered.
“Nothing,” Tyler said as she let out a loud breath. Being a guy was tough. She couldn’t stop her girl feelings and hiding them was going to be very difficult, especially if Kame kept hanging around.

Keito sat in the passenger seat of the red convertible with her arms crossed over her chest. He had insisted that she go with him for the day, but he had failed to mention where they were going. She wasn’t sure yet but she was rapidly starting to think that she had made a mistake. Keito looked over and her mismatched eyes fixated on the driver. He had a big smile on his face as he raced down the road. His short black hair was shifting in the wind and his brown eyes were covered by a pair of black sunglasses. His aura was radiating, a brilliant blue light around him. Junno looked over at her and let out a laugh as he continued to smile.
“Don’t look so worried otooto,” Junno said. Keito furrowed her brow at him. She hadn’t realized that she had that look about her. She looked away from him and out the windshield. They were going over a bridge and Keito stiffened. She had one of those irrational fears of bridges and had, had it since she was a little girl.
“Where are we going?” Keito asked, her voice almost getting lost in the wind.
“It’s a surprise,” Junno said a smirk coming to his face. Surprises were never a good thing, but judging by the waves the guy was giving off she knew that he was excited about it. Keito didn’t press it because she knew it was pointless. She just sat there and stayed quiet for the rest of the ride. Junno wasn’t bad, he was the only guy who actually took her for who she was, well her guy persona was, no questions asked. The only other person who had ever done that was Jude and that was why they were best friends. Getting friends had always been a challenge for her so when people accepted her so quickly it was refreshing.
They pulled up to a small park and a group of boys were standing there. They looked between the ages of seven and ten and when they saw Junno they all ran toward him. Keito hung back as Junno conversed with the group of five boys. When they first had pulled up she didn’t notice the large building behind the park. It was a hospital, a children’s hospital to be exact. When she looked back at the five boys with Junno she noticed there were three with bald heads and two with bald heads wearing baseball caps. It was a sight that she was all too familiar with. Those kids all had cancer.
“I remember you saying something about you having a friend that had cancer and I just thought that maybe you would to like to hang out with some kids that are going through it. Sorry if it’s too much,” Junno said. Keito just smiled as she walked over to them.
“No it’s fine. I didn’t know you did this?” Keito asked as she tried to keep up her male persona which she was finding increasingly difficult.
“Yeah a few of us come here and play with the kids.”
“Really?”
“Yeah Jin, Aiba and Sho come too,” Junno said. The boys continued to pull on the sleeve of his black sweater and he finally gave in and let them drag him away. One kid stayed behind and Keito crouched down to be at eye level. It wasn’t a boy like she thought it had been it was a little girl. Her brown eyes were staring out at Keito, the red baseball cap big on her bald head.
“What’s your name?” Keito asked the little girl.
“Misa,” she said boldly. Keito smiled at her. She had an old aura, too much suffering for such a young girl. She could remember when Jude went through chemotherapy and how terrible and frightening it was for her and as the old memories flooded her head she felt tears sting at her eyes. One of Misa’s small hands reached out and grabbed at some of Keito’s black hair, rubbing it between her chubby fingers.
“You’re a pretty lady. I want to look like you when I grow up,” Misa said with a small smile. Keito smiled back and patted the girl on the head. It was so easy for the girl to see that she was in fact one herself and it made Keito smile. It was just another person that accepted her right off the bat. Keito grabbed one of the girl’s hands and looked up at her with her mismatched eyes.
“I can read palms; do you want me to read yours?” Keito asked and Misa shook her head yes as she gave Keito as toothy grin. The appreciation she felt toward Junno for bringing her there was immense and she knew that Jude would have appreciated it even more.

She looked at the boy sitting in front of her, her stomach turning slightly as she watched him eat. Her luck was terrible because all she wanted was some peace and quiet on her day off and she had run into him of all people. He was scarfing down ramen at an alarming rate, his red beanie covering his bleach hair and his brown eyes fixated on his food. He slurped as he sucked the noodles into her mouth and she had to look away. And he talked about her eating.
“Why did you have to come here, of all places in the damn city you come to my ramen shop,” Takeo said as she threw her chopsticks down angrily. Miura looked up at her and grinned before he started eating again.
“Saw you in the window and thought we could chill. What you don’t want to chill with me?” Miura asked through a mouth full of food. She scowled at him before she turned away.
“Not exactly,” She said sounding cold. Miura looked up at her with a frown on his face. Takeo had a pair of big green sunglasses covering her brown eyes and her red hair was wild flat on her head, pieces sticking up in odd places.
“Look kid you don’t have to be an asshole okay.”
“Stop calling me kid! I’m not a fucking kid alright!” Takeo yelled in as deep a voice as she could muster. She pulled on the front of her green L’arc-en-Ciel shirt and let out a huff as she crossed her arms over her chest. Miura’s brown eyes narrowed at her and frowned. He didn’t get this stupid kids attitude. He was staring to think that he just needed to drag Takeo out back and kick his ass and put him in his place.
“Look I’ve been around Griffin longer than you so you are a fucking kid alright,” Miura said. Takeo let out a snort. She wanted to punch him so bad.
“Okay Ojisan,” Takeo said as she leaned back against her chair. Miura frowned. He really hated that.
“Don’t call me that,” Miura growled, but Takeo just leaned forward getting into his face.
“Don’t call me kid.”

Yuuki slammed her sticks against her drums, her blue earphones covering her small ears. The rest of the girls took the day off, but she needed to play. Yamapi had given her permission to jam in the studio and she was taking full advantage. She didn’t like the way she had been playing for the last couple of day. It was just sloppy and all over the place and it bugged her to no end. She counted off in her head the lyrics of the song streaming through her headphones. Yuuki didn’t know what it was but this particular song was always a problem for her.
She was off beat and it grated her nerves. She threw the drumsticks down and ripped the headphones from her ears. Yuuki didn’t get why she was off. At the concert she had been spot on and now she sounded like some amateur.
“What’s the matter?” Someone said to her making her head snap in the direction of the door in surprise. Hiroki was standing there leaning against the door jam with his arms crossed over the front of his blue sweater. Yuuki stiffened up when he walked toward her and sat down in an extra stool picking up a white guitar that recognized as Tyler’s. Yuuki didn’t say anything to him making Hiroki look over at her. “I think your thinking about it too much. You play differently when you perform and when you’re recording. It’s funny how you’re so quiet but are in your element when you play live.”
“It’s because I’m used to it,” Yuuki said quietly. Hiroki’s eyes narrowed as he observed her. It was the first time that he had heard the guy talk and his voice was like silk. It was too soft for a guy’s voice. Hiroki shook it off and strummed on the guitar.
“Let’s jam together maybe that will help,” Hiroki said as he started strumming the cords to a Beatles song. He saw Yuuki smile as she started to play along. Yuuki looked over at Hiroki and he had his eyes closed, engrossed in his playing. He was so different from the others. He was quiet like her, but she still thought he was a badass. She had heard rumors that the guy had a bad temper but as she watched him play his guitar across from her she couldn’t picture it. How could a guy that could play like that and have such a gentle face have a temper like the devil?

Jude sat on the comfortable brown bar stool, her arms resting on the bars countertop. An older man stood behind the counter wiping it down with a wet cloth. His salt and pepper hair was cut short and the hair of his goatee was starting to match the rest of his hair. He looked up at Jude, his old brown eyes loving as he did so. He set the cloth down and wiped his hands on the white apron that was wrapped around the waist of his black pants. Jude smiled at him as she rested her head in one of her hands. Ken Matsumoto was the man who had loved her mother and loved her too. He was the only father she had ever known.
“So how are you feeling lately?” He asked her, his voice deep. He always reminded her of a samurai. He had that dignity and respectful air about him.
“I feel good dad, you worry too much,” Jude answered as she absentmindedly played with the two pink string bracelets on her left wrist. He studied her for a moment looking at her new persona. When Jude had called him and told him about her band getting signed but they had to be guys Ken was supportive even if he thought that it was a bad idea. It was a secret that the girls wouldn’t be able to hide forever and he knew it would be bad when the day come where the secret would no longer be a secret.
“I have a favor to ask of you,” Ken said as he leaned against the counter, “as long as your not to busy.”
“I’m never too busy for you dad,” Jude said giving him a smile.
“Blues night is next week and I need a singer. The girl I usually have sing just had a baby. I know you are trying to keep up your disguise now, but it would be really great if you could do it for me. Like old times.” Jude looked at Ken and she knew the smart thing would be to say she couldn’t, but he was her dad and she could never say no to him.
“I can just wear a wig or something,” Jude said. Ken leaned over and gave her a soft pat on the cheek. He had always done it; he did it to her brother too.
“Your brother’s going to be here too. When’s the last time you talked to him?”
“About a week ago; He sounds tired.”
“Just worried about you that’s all.” Jude looked over at her dad with one of her brows raised. It was typical that they worried about her. Her brother could be overbearing at times, but she still loved him. It was just his nature.
“No need to worry about me,” Jude said with a laugh and Ken just smiled. There were plenty of reasons to worry about her she didn’t want to think of the reasons and that bothered him. Just because her cancer was in remission didn’t mean that it was gone all together.
