Rush Of Blood To The Head

Chapter 7

The Scent of a Man

“You need to pull it tighter Takeo,” Tyler whined as he held on to the post of her bed. Takeo rolled her eyes at her friend as she pulled tighter on the binding they all had to wear around their breasts to conceal them, well except Jude. The binding actually reminded Takeo of a mummy wrap and she hated wearing it just like the rest of the girls did. Takeo gave the binding one final tug and Tyler let out a small whimper.

“One of these day I am going to think of a way to get back at Yama for making us wear these things,” Tyler said as she pulled a black shirt on and buttoned it up as far as it would go. She grabbed a green tie off her bed and quickly put it over her head.

“It was the only thing that the guy could find to hide our goodies,” Takeo replied as she sat down on the edge of Tyler’s bed. Her thoughts kept racing back to her encounter with Miura. Like she had thought she got a bruise on her arm and it had enraged her at the time. She was a girl and he had hit her that hard. Keito reminded her that she was a guy now and the thought of that was just depressing.

Tyler regarded her friend for a moment before she grabbed her converses. There was just no way she would ever wear those Doc Martin’s again. Her blue eyes looked down at her watch and then proceeded to pull her shoes on. They had a meeting today and she and Takeo only had thirty minutes left to get to Griffin Records. The others had taken off earlier, but Tyler was not in the biggest hurry to get there. First she hated meetings and second she knew that Sakurai Sho was going to be there. All the guys from the other bands were going to be there. Yama had been vague on the details of what the meeting was going to be about, but just thinking of being in the same room as that guy made her shudder. The guy just plain freaked her out. Tyler let out a sigh as she stood up and looked down at Takeo who looked bored.

“You ready?” Tyler asked as she tossed her black hair a little. Takeo just stood and pulled on her blue L’arc-en-Ciel shirt. She gave Tyler a rough slap on the back and silently headed out the door of her friends room. They were going to be late she just knew it, but for some reason Takeo didn’t care.

Jude walked aimlessly down the hallway toward the meeting room, her blue suspenders hanging by her sides. Her hands were shoved roughly into the pockets of her light denim jeans, her orange eyes fixed on the ground in front of her. She wouldn’t have come so early before the meeting, but she really had nothing else to do. The sound of footsteps reverberated off the wall and she lazily looked up at the sound. A man was walking toward her, his stride slightly cocky as his dark brown eyes roamed the hall. His brown hair was hanging limply around his head with a grey hoodie thrown over it. His dark jeans were low on his hips and his black converse shoes tapped lightly against the carpet with every step he took. His dark eyes finally made contact with her and he gave her a small smile.

Jude just tilted her head slightly in acknowledgement as he came closer. The smell of his cologne swirled in the air around her and she had to stop herself for inhaling. It was Akanishi Jin, the Bass player for the band Revenge. She would know that face anywhere. He passed her like a phantom and she found herself turning to look at him. When he reached the end of the hall he looked over his shoulder at her and waved slightly making her dark brows shot up slightly. Jude felt a small blush grace her face and was glad that he was far enough away where he wouldn’t see it. She waved back at him and let out a sigh when he disappeared around the corner. Jude had done so well so far with the whole guy act so far, but when she saw Akanishi Jin she almost went totally girl.

“I am so dead,” Jude whispered to herself as she ran a hand through her wild green hair. He was going to definitely make being a guy tough. She started walking down the hall again and huffed. He was going to be at the meeting, everyone was going to be there. Jude would just have to avoid looking at him and his luscious lips.

Yuuki walked to the meeting room with her arms crossed firmly over the chest of her loose blue shirt as she looked down at her Bape shoes. She had no idea why he was walking with her. Since they had run into each other the other day in the cafeteria he had been hanging around her. Yuuki thought he was obnoxious and talked way too much, always using his hands to emphasize the story he was telling. She didn’t get it really, she had only spoken three words to him but he wouldn’t leave her alone. He had said something about drummers sticking together and it reminded her of her encounter with Kame in the shower a few days prior. Her brown eyes looked down the hall and she saw Keito standing just outside the meeting room. She was holding onto Hiro Mizushima’s hand who looked slightly amused. She was reading his pal and telling him what it said in the manliest voice the girl to muster. Shun was standing across the hall looking at Keito with a slightly frightened look on his face.

“I got to get him to do that for me,” Aiba said suddenly with a laugh. Yuuki didn’t say anything as she hastily walked away from him and straight for Keito. When Yuuki reached her Keito looked over at her with her mismatched eyes and Yuuki just tilted her head toward the inside of the meeting room. Keito looked back and Hiro and dropped his hand.

“Lucky,” She simply said to him before she followed Yuuki into the meeting room. Hiro raised his brow before he looked at Aiba and then back at Shun who still looked put out. He smiled before he scratched at his long brown hair.

“Those guys are weird,” He said with a small laugh.

“Hey I like them,” Aiba replied from his spot in the hall. Shun scoffed as he made his way to the open doorway.

“That’s because your weird too Aiba,” Shun said before he entered the room, finding the furthest seat he could get from the guy with the freaky mismatched eyes. People started pilling in and took spots around the large rectangle table.

“Keep Aiba away from me please. If I have to listen to another one of his stories I think my brain might explode,” Yuuki whispered to Keito as she hunched down in her leather seat. Keito tilted her head slightly as she watched people filter into the room. Aiba came in and when he spotted them he started to make his way over to them. Keito could hear Yuuki grumble by her side and she held in a smirk. Yuuki had always hated obnoxious, loud people. She saw him stop abruptly and sit down next to Miura. Her mismatched eyes looked over and the seat next to Yuuki was now occupied. Yuuki was no longer slouching in her seat but sitting ramrod straight, trying to keep her brown gaze from looking over at the guy who was sitting next to her. He leaned back against his seat and yawned. His black hair was longer in back than in the front and he still had sunglasses over his eyes. Many piercings adorned his face and he had tattoo’s everywhere. His fingers tapped lightly on the arm rests of the brown chair as he rested one of his legs over the other. When Keito realized who it was she knew why Yuuki was suddenly so stiff. It was Miyavi, the lead singer of Murder of Crows, and Yuuki had, had a thing for him; just like she had a thing for Hiroki Narimiya also. Yuuki always had a thing for the interesting type.

Jude walked into the room and gave the girls a wave before she found an open seat. She plopped down unceremoniously and smiled across the table at them. Keito nodded back to her, but Yuuki did nothing, just trying to stay as calm as she could. The girl was quiet, but just plain froze up when she was in the presence of someone she admired or liked. Jin walked into the room and when he saw the head of green hair he headed straight for it. When he saw this guys he got a strange since of Déjà Vu, like he had seen the guy before but he just couldn’t put his thumb on it. When he sat down he watched the smile on the guys face fade and turn away from him, his orange eyes looking across the table. Jin didn’t get it people usually liked him, well girls liked him. Maybe this guy just felt threatened.

Takeo came rushing into the room, abandoning Tyler when she decided she had to go to the restroom. Takeo scratched at the back of her head as she looked around the table quickly. She saw an open seat and headed straight for it. She was sitting by Gong Yoo, the one Jude suspected of drug abuse and when she felt him fidgeting beside her, Takeo could only see why. A prickling came over her spine and when she looked up a pair of blue eyes were staring at her from across the table. Okay, Miura was totally starting to piss her off. Every time he saw her he stared, looking right through her and every time he called her kid her blood boiled in her veins.

“Hello everyone,” Yama said as he made his way into the meeting room, taking the seat at the head of the table. He was in a grey suit and his brown curly hair was done neatly atop his head. He looked expensive as always. “I just wanted to tell you all about the festival we have just gotten you all booked for in Osaka . . .” He was in the middle of saying when someone came crashing into the room. Everyone turned to look at the intruder and Tyler stood there nervously, loosening her tie as she let out a small laugh.

“Gomen Yama,” Tyler said in the roughest voice she could, “had to take a piss.”

“Just take a seat Tyler,” Yama said. Tyler looked around the table and her blue eyes filled with dismay when she realized that the only open seat was next to Sho. That’s what she got for being late. Tyler stalked over to the seat and fell into it angrily. Sho leaned over and lat out a small laugh.

“Your pants on fire again?”

“Screw you Sakurai,” Tyler said under her breath.

“I only have sex with girls,” He said before he leaned away. Her eyes narrowed, but she refused to look over at him. The view across the table was much better. Ryo was sitting there, his eyes looking bored as he waited for Yama to continue. Tyler mentally kicked herself. She couldn’t think like that anymore, not about guys. She couldn’t look at them and lust for them, it would ruin everything.

“As I was saying, you are all on the bill for the PEACE, LOVE, AND ROCK FESTIVAL. It’s in two weeks so I figured that you could all come up with a four song set list by then for each band. This will also be a great place for Madam Butterfly to have their first show as a signed band. The publicity will be great. You guys leave next week for Osaka so be ready and please do the company proud and do not fight like you did last time,” Yama said before he stood and made a quick exit. Jude scratched at her elbow as she looked around the room. No one looked phased by the news except her band mates of course. It was going to be their first show in front of thousand and they didn’t even have a single out on the radio yet. She knew winning the crowed over was going to be brutal. Jude just hoped they could keep the male façade up while they panicked.
